Are we seeing an iteration of a young Marvin Harrison starting to get his feet underneath him? Big leap of a comparison I know but marv also had the same hofer throwing to him basically from the jump.

Depends on how good Flacco is.

Jerry Dooty is more of a best Ball WR in my opinion. He has a tendency to not show up in games. I have no problem with taking him, just don't overpay.

Honestly, I'd rather wait in drafts and pick up Cedric Tillman, he's free with a much higher ceiling.

Good call. I also got him at end of draft.

Also got Keenan Allen and Deandre Hopkins as my bench receivers. Part of me knows they have aged, but other part of me knows when need be for a plug and play situation these guys have that domination aspect they can pull back up (when healthy).

Juedy coming out of college was scared to take a hit.  He played soft.  That soft play translated to the NFL.

Now there are instances where players have fixed their play.  Ceedee lamb didn't try on plays he didn't think he was getting the ball for two years and fixed it about week 7 of year 3.  Running back thomas jones would go down on literally any contact.  Like he would fall to the ground of someone just put their hand on his shoulder.  About 4 or 5 years into his career he fixed that.

So I guess the question is if Jeudy fixed his soft play.  I don't watch enough browns football to know, but that's what you have to figure out.  I'd watch some late season 2024 games and see if he's alligator arming passes.  If he is, he's a dnd.

i think allen has nice upside...

chargers are lacking decent targets beyond mcconkey

allen already has chemistry with herbert

he still can rack up rec, and move the chains.

Agree, especially in a full PPR league. That's Herbert's Boy

That was a lot of good info. Preciate it. Most interesting to me is how u said ceedee figured it out about week 7 year 3. Was that just an approximation or did something happen that day?

Year 2 is typically where you want to see a WR breakout. Some take longer but those are usually the higher pedigree players like CeeDee.

I feel like we've seen enough of Jeudy to know what to expect. My money is on Tillman

I figured some coach finally got on his ass.  I just know I watched him like a hawk because I invested in him in dynasty.  He was a frustrating watch, and then next thing I know, he's trying on every play, and then coincidentally he started putting up elite numbers.

He had 90 catches last year. Not sure about them just bumping him aside in favor of tillman.tillman can be good not disputing that, but I don’t see jeudy taking a backseat to tillman’s production. Unless injury or something ( knock on wood)

Yeah, I don't get the Tillman is the guy to bet on here take either 🤣

Jeudy has only one season in which he didn't put up better numbers than Tillman's entire career. Plus, Tillman has concussion issues? Not sure about that one.

I knew that carousel of qbs in Denver was bad, but maybe seeing a guy get out of there and now developing tells all u need to know

Right, Denver had arguably the worst QB situation in the NFL for a few seasons after Peyton. Sometimes a player just needs a change of scenery for whatever reason to succeed. It's not like he's exactly in QB heaven with the Browns. Flacco can at least get the ball to an open WR most of the time though. He was supposedly the best WR out of the loaded draft with CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson. that talent hasn't just evaporated.

He’s going to need a Qb that will use his down field talent, I don’t think Flacco is that Qb.  And when will thy throw the Sanders kid in their, I think I like Jeudy has a wr3 with wr2 upside at times.

It’s actually not all about downfield passes with him, but I agree with the wr3 with wr2 upside. I’m using him as wr3

The less said about the first WR taken in that draft the better…

Yes, indeed. I was rebuilding my dynasty team that year and loaded up on draft picks, I took all 3 of the top WRs taken. He was the most disappointing in so many ways...

I traded for J Jefferson, so I have him and CeeDee, but eventually dropped Jeudy

5 catches and led the team with 66 yards but didn't score

Tillman had 5 catches for 52 yds with a TD

I think both are good WR2/3

I don't see potential for a whole lot more with the QB situation as is

The difference is that Tillman was Free in Fantasy drafts. I'm all about value 😁

He's available on the waiver wire in my league. He's a guy I'm keeping an eye on for a quick, free, bye week fill in

I would certainly grab him. That's not a bad person to have on the end of your bench. I'm not saying he's Nico but there are some scary similarities that point to an upcoming breakdown.

Jeaudy had 3 terrible drops

I saw them and you’re right. Serious question though, would it be better he had 3less targets or that he had them but couldn’t capitalize? I’m leaning towards it was better he got those targets now he just needs to really focus in to make those grabs. I’m guessing he will be highly motivated this week to atone, albeit against the ravens

At some point, the drops affect the QB confidence and he starts sending those targets elsewhere (and not sure Jeudy has as long of a leash as, say, C.Lamb).

Jeudy got most of his numbers late in the game.  I know that points are points, but I’d like he him used more/hold onto the ball.

i am still hesitant to start him until is see more consistency

I didn't watch the game, as the Bucs were on at the same time, so I had no frame of reference.  My initial thought was to say, "Isn't this Jerry Jeudy every week/year?", but I figured I'd check it out.  Looks like in the first half, the Brown only had the ball 3 times and one of them was a 3 and out that lasted 58 seconds.  Anyway, on the first drive, the TD drive, he was targeted twice and both times a pass interference penalty on third down that kept the drive going.  The 3-play drive he wasn't targeted.  On the final drive of the half, he had 1 target.  So yeah, I understand your point.  On the first and third drives, they had 27 plays and he was targeted only 3 times.  I do understand the lack of production due to the penalties, but still, only 3 targets?   Of those 27 plays, there were 19 passes.  This is the target share of those pass attempts (note, it totals 18.  pro-football-reference.com has 1 pass with no target.  My guess is a throw away [it was the last play before the FG attempt]).

Player Tgt
Harold Fannin 5
David Njoku 4
Jerry Jeudy 3*
Cedric Tillman 3
Dylan Sampson 2
Isaiah Bond 1

* 15.8% target share

In the second half, Flacco had 31 pass attempts, here's that target share:

Player Tgt
Harold Fannin 7
Jerry Jeudy 7
Dylan Sampson 6
Cedric Tillman 5
David Njoku 3
Jerome Ford 2
Jamari Thrash 1

So, while the stat sheet shows 8 targets, there was really 10.  Still though, to your point, most of the work was done in the 2nd half (5 of the 7 in Q4).  In the end, while Flacco had 45 attempts, he threw the 47 times... of which, 10 went Jeudy's way, so 21.3%.  For reference, Joe Burrow had 652 pass attempts last year, of which, 175 went to Ja'Marr chase (DPI's unknown), which is 26.8%.  The Lions had 551 pass attempts, 141 went to St. Brown, so 25.6%.  I think the data supports your claim.  If the Browns threw the ball 47 times, you'd think Jeudy would've gotten at least 2 more targets and possibly he'd have been more involved throughout, not just mainly the fourth quarter.

One caveat though, Jerry Jeudy is an enigma.  I don't know how much of this is his fault.  He's invisible sometimes, by his own accord.

I concur.

in a dynasty, I’ve had him since rookie year.

while I was optimistic for production with Flacco, and we could see more 4th q slop… it doesn’t encourage confidence

Good analysis. Thanks. So based on what u read into this in your mind is it encouraging for him or other way? I know u said maybe 2 more targets just trying to get a read on what you’re thinking rest of season

I think you’re spot on…almost.  I think he’ll exceed Harrison, and you briefly touched on it when you alluded to hofer throwing to him.  JJ is in a much better situation.  I saw this quote today:  “Shedeur Sandars will go down in history as a better QB than Peyton Manning.  Sincerely his college coach/agent.”

That is good data, but bear in mind that most games are like that.  Fantasy points come pouring in in the 4th quarter usually.

That's why I never understood why you posters here are mf'ing guys after Q1.

I think Jerry Jeudy is and will always be what Jerry Jeudy has been.  Big games, no games.  I don't this or any one other game changes that.  I don't think it's game/team/QB dependent, I just think Jeudy takes plays and yes, even games, off.  He's always on my DND list.  I won't even draft him as a WR5.

I think that's the case, but I'm thinking it varies based on the caliber of the player.
