Also, hopefully the Democrats can win back the House or Senate in November so we can get back to a legitimate checks and balance system in government as opposed to what we have now. The second official described Qatar as a neutral location where money can flow freely with US approval and without risk of seizure. Trump’s order noted that at least some of the revenue would be held in US Treasury accounts.

It’s in plain sight. But GOP members of Congress refuse to act. I find it shameful. The other option would be GOP voters demanding he be stopped. And they don’t seem to be doing that either. So you think he's just going to wire transfer the 500 million into his accounts after everyone forgets about it?  I don't think he'll do that.  He'll have to run it through some other entity and rely on them kicking back money to him in some way like maybe he can make a painting and sell it to them or something.

I just think stealing 500 million from an account you broadcast you setup to act essentially as some sort of trust is too brazen.  The obvious play is give it to oil companies and have them filter money to you somehow. 

I agree it'll get stolen.  I just don't know by whom and how.  I mean eventually a lot of the money the government collects gets stolen by various people.  I'd love it to stop and have everyone doing it executed, but I don't think the general public has an appetite for holding the thieves accountable since most of the time they align with someone's team which acts like a blanket of protection.

I'm obviously biased, as are most posters here, but I can look around at GC posts as evidence that the lefties typically have a better handle on the right's rationale (as loony as it sometimes is) than the reverse. That is not universal of course.

I try to evaluate both sides, and sometimes get too emotional or reactionary (last week's shooting as a case in point) but an attempt is made on my part. Just as an example.   My sister in law is a whack job liberal.   She's goofy man.   We have had conversations.  She ONLY consumes left wing media.  I have tried to tell her to check out Fox for instance.  If nothing more than to see what the other side thinks. She absolutely refuses!  I will go to CNN here and there.  Especially when there are seriously issues cause I want to know how the other side thinks.   I do enjoy there are some of you(some) that present good ideas and a counter to the other side.
