nobody 2,759 Posted 11 hours ago 15 hours ago, squistion said: https://x.com/CAgovernor/status/1965899170579202144 Governor Gavin Newsom @CAgovernor We should all feel a deep sense of grief and outrage at the terrible violence that took place in Utah today. Charlie Kirk's murder is sick and reprehensible, and our thoughts are with his family, children, and loved ones. I knew Charlie, and I admired his passion and commitment to debate. His senseless murder is a reminder of how important it is for all of us, across the political spectrum, to foster genuine discourse on issues that deeply affect us all without resorting to political violence. The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence. Honest disagreement makes us stronger; violence only drives us further apart and corrodes the values at the heart of this nation. 15 hours ago, thegeneral said: Well said by Gavin. Unless, the shooter was carrying multiple guns, the bolt action rifle directs the conversation to more planning and thought into this than some rando that gets their hands on an AR. If youre planning the the most accurate, single shot with best chances of a kill, you’re using a bolt action.

I’m guessing semi-autos out number bolt action by anywhere from 3/1 to 10/1. Bolt action technology is 200 years old, so it’s seen as your “grandpas gun” by many, so they’re not flashy like ARs and such. They have magazines, but most are 8-10 rounds, not high capacity like semi autos.

Bolt-action rifles are commonly used for big game hunting, long-range target shooting, and military and civilian marksmanship due to their inherent accuracy, reliability, and precision, which are achieved through a manually operated bolt that delivers a single, lethal shot with a slower firing rate compared to semi-automatic firearms

Very cool gun. Question…does yours actually eject the empty shell when you rack the bolt? Mine doesn’t, you have to pick it out the barrel manually. It’s old and I’m probably the 3rd owner, and so I always imagined it was supposed to eject by design.
