Trump is currently being lavished with extraordinary levels of praise in the Israeli Parliament.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called him "the greatest friend that the State of Israel has ever had in the White House."

Speaker Amir Ohana has called him “not as another American president, but a giant of Jewish history.” He compared Trump to Cyrus the Great, the ancient Persian king said to have freed the Jewish from captivity in Babylon in 539 BCE.

Children have a problem with the definition of "lie."  Like if you say you plan to stop for ice cream after the game, but the game runs long and you no longer have time, they'll accuse you of lying!  Well no, we had every intention of stopping, but things changed.

Good catch.  I looked back in the Gaza thread a few days until the point where the deal was reached, and saw nothing from him except stuff like DropDeadHamas doesn't like The Free Press.  Immediate kudos from Real Tim tho, to his credit.

I need to remember that Tim H is fairly young, so he was probably raised by a post-Edward Said "Orientalism" educational system that eschewed actual history to teach kids that Israel has always been the baddies in the Middle East.

I think that’s the first time I’ve been called “fairly young” in awhile.  I’m almost 40.  

I don’t recall much specific about Israel in my public school education, but I’m Jewish, remember?  At synagogue and Hebrew school we were taught that Israel has always been the victim, and maybe that was true in the past.  I never really thought much about Israel to be honest until October 7th, except regretting never taking the free propaganda trip there (my synagogue usually took kids that were in like 10th grade IIRC, but my class’s trip was cancelled due to a previous war or conflict).   

And obviously after 10/7 I supported Israel in responding.  But as time went on, seeing a lot of the verified stories that were out there, I eventually realized that Israel’s army isn’t nearly as “moral” as they claim.

You are closer in age to all 3 of my kids than you are to me.  You remind me of my middle daughter.  She's very smart and has all of the knowledge that Hasan Piker, a curated X feed, and the Chinese on TikTok can provide, but none of the wisdom of having lived through attempt after failed attempt to turn the Palestinians into anything but a group of barbaric, warring tribes.  With that lack of wisdom comes optimism that this time will be different, which is a definition of insanity, but who knows, maybe Trump can pull it off this time.  They are already battling each other again though it seems.

Your "verified stories" is funny.  Our entire discussion on this topic started with weeks or months of you providing videos of men running through the desert and Hamas Information Minister death numbers. (yeah yeah, somebody in the IDF blew up an ambulance, it's the same as Hamas!).  Oh, and some American sounding guy maybe shot someone, and a "journalist" was killed.  Meanwhile, Israel has fought Iran and Hezbollah along with Hamas, crushing Iran's defenses in a week, and pulling the greatest urban warfare victory against Hezbollah in terms of decisiveness and lack of civilian casualties.  It is clear that Israel viewed Hezbollah as a bigger threat, heck the reason they had the pager plan in place.

Meanwhile in Gaza, Israel could have turned the place into glass in a week, but instead have spent the past two years losing 1000 soldiers trying to uproot the vermin that are Hamas without such destruction.  They have been the nicest superior military in the history of war.  Is Putin as nice?  Didn't think so.  But unfortunately for Israel, while they could win militarily, they couldn't compete with the new Western Orientalism and Foucaultian moral relativism which proscribes the self-flagellation of its own society.

The ambulance was the very first example I provided, and it wasn’t just one person, the IDF also lied about it.

But you are correct, Israel is the superior military by far.  That’s why they don’t need our help.  And that’s why I repeatedly answered when you asked “bUt WhAt ShOuLd ThEy Do InStEaD?” that I don’t know, but the US should stop funding them.   If they want to turn Gaza to glass, as long as they’re not doing it with my money, go right ahead.  This of course is also the answer to people whatabouting to genocides in Nigeria or whatever, the reason more people care about Palestinians is because the US was complicit in the ethnic cleansing of them.  Thankfully Trump is trying to put a stop to that, because Qatar wasn’t happy, and neither were many conservatives that were souring on Israel.
