Trump calls for the arrest and trial of 6 Democratic lawmakers for “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”

Do you think a district court requiring the federal government to issue full SNAP payments is setting policy?

No. They are ruling as to whether the Executive Orders issued are legal. The policy ramifications have nothing to do with the legality of the EO's. If the courts find the orders unlawful, which they nearly always do where Dandy Don is concerned, then the ordered changes cannot be made, because they are NOT LEGAL.

We just saw what happened with Comey and James’ prosecutions getting laughed out of court. This case is even thinner than those.

What is it like being gullible enough to think this will actually work?

You hate justice almost as much as you hate Trump.  Sad.

When circuit courts were shutting down Biden’s loan forgiveness and ability to contact social media companies nationally, I didn’t hear a peep from conservatives about how the courts should stop trying to shape national policy.

As always, we should be careful what we wish for. When the next Democrat gets into office, if courts strike down some of their actions, it will only be in a limited area thanks to the recent SCOTUS ruling that overturned precedent going back to last century.

That being said, most Democratic presidents don’t spend their terms passing illegal executive orders smacked down by the courts for their constitutional defiance 70% of the time. So I guess it’s a win for a party that likes to ignore the law and attempt to rule by presidential fiat.

That was different they knew the very very constitutional precedent of "major questions" was being broken.

Mark Kelly laying out his case yesterday laying out specific examples where Trump has said that he could or will give illegal orders and the military would follow them anyway.  Strengthens his case for making the video.

BAIER: Mr. Trump, just yesterday, almost 100 foreign policy experts signed on to an open letter refusing to support you, saying your embracing expansive use of torture is inexcusable. General Michael Hayden, former CIA director, NSA director, and other experts have said that when you asked the U.S. military to carry out some of your campaign promises, specifically targeting terrorists’ families, and also the use of interrogation methods more extreme than waterboarding, the military will refuse because they’ve been trained to turn down and refuse illegal orders.

So what would you do, as commander-in-chief, if the U.S. military refused to carry out those orders?

TRUMP: They won’t refuse. They’re not going to refuse me. Believe me.

BAIER: But they’re illegal.

TRUMP: Let me just tell you, you look at the Middle East. They’re chopping off heads. They’re chopping off the heads of Christians and anybody else that happens to be in the way. They’re drowning people in steel cages. And he — now we’re talking about waterboarding.

Trump calls for Democratic lawmakers to face trial for ‘seditious behavior’

President Donald Trump on Thursday called for six Democratic lawmakers to face arrest and trial after they made a video encouraging U.S. service members and members of the intelligence community to refrain from following orders if they broke the law.

“It’s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,” Trump charged in a post on Truth Social. “Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand - We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET.”

The president then reposted 16 Truth Social posts, including one that advocated for hanging the Democrats, like “GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD.”

“SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” he later wrote.

Sens. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), as well as Reps. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), Chrissy Houlahan (D-Penn.), Maggie Goodlander (D-N.H.) and Chris Deluzio (D-Penn.) were featured in the Tuesday video. They are all either military veterans or worked in national security-focused roles before taking office.

“We know you are under enormous stress and pressure right now,” they said. “Americans trust their military. But that trust is at risk. This administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professionals against American citizens. Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution. Right now, the threats to our constitution aren’t just coming from abroad, but from right here at home. Our laws are clear, you can refuse illegal orders.”

In a joint statement Thursday, House Democratic leadership condemned Trump’s “disgusting and dangerous death threats” and called for him to delete the posts, urging their Republican colleagues to say the same.

The statement — co-signed by Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Minority Whip Katherine Clark and Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar — said House leadership had been in contact with the House sergeant at arms and the United States Capitol Police to “ensure the safety” of the members mentioned in Trump’s posts.

“Donald Trump incited a violent attack on the Capitol on January 6th as part of a treacherous attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election,” they wrote. “The President’s violent and unhinged rhetoric against American patriots is consistent with his well-documented history of attacking prisoners of war, Gold Star families and war heroes. There is no bottom when it comes to Donald Trump.”

Sounds good.  Let's do it.

“Attack the astronaut Senator who actually served his country because Trump said so!!” is the disgusting MAGA behavior this country has had to put up with for a decade now. It will be a good day when this sht stain movement gets flushed down the toilet.

The Comey & James escapades (like the Durham cases) offer a roadmap of what to expect.

1. Everyone who knows how to do things is already fired or will be when they speak up.

2.Bring in flunky, very possibly someone personally attached to Trump, who does thing everyone with any experience said not to do.

3. There is much huzzahing & throwing of red caps.

4. ?????? {wait} ?????

5. Circle back to no. 1 where thing that knowledgeable people warned SecDef & Co. would happen, happens.
