ICE agents have less training than dog catchers

Recommended Posts

This morning I researched various training periods.

U.S. Marines - 91 days.

Police officer - 84 to 210 days.

FBI agent - 140 days.

Dog catcher - 84 days to 98 days.

ICE - 47 days.

That idiot ICE agent didn't even know basic law enforcement when it comes to stepping into the "kill zone" in front of a vehicle with a driver behind the wheel.

And check out ICE qualifcations:

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • License: Valid driver's license.
  • Firearm: Eligible and willing to carry a firearm; no domestic violence misdemeanor convictions.
  • Drug Testing: Pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
  • Background: Pass a thorough background investigation (security vetting).
  • Fitness: May require a physical fitness test (PFT).

Unbelievable.

Who could see this coming. Expand a police force under highly political, partisan means by like 2x in a year. Mix in 10 billion a year.

Oh and they have unlimited immunity according to our government. That’s just great!

My two favorite ICE qualifications:

- Willing to carry a firearm.

- May have to pass a physical-fitness test.

Weeeeee!!!!

No, I did the research and even provided the ranges instead of posting the higher number.

Your hasty, uninformed response makes you look ignorant, but I'm sure the MAGAs here will try to twist, grind and deflect facts in order to meet their political paradigms.

My numbers are based on easily researched facts, which you won't look up because you're sexy that way.

So you have to be a US citizen to be a police officer in the US?

1.) I researched each an every one of those facts.

2.) You kneejerk responded to those facts.

3.) I pointed that out.

4.) You feebly continue to hold tight to your feeling of ignorant bliss.

Sockfocker should know the training periods for cops and Marines yet continues to stand there slack-jawed and asking, "Where is der proofs?"

I could do what Ice does in about 3 days, 48 seems excessive

Walk around with a gun and scream for terrified women to get the fock out of the car?

I'm thinking you'd need at least three weeks to do that.

Oh, so you're saying the comparison has to be between federal jobs and not a federal job (ICE agent) to a municipal or county job (dog catcher).

That said, here are the training requirements for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services:

  • Refuge Officers: Attend the Basic Law Enforcement Course and the Refuge Officer Basic School at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), followed by a 10-week Field Training and Evaluation Program.
  • Special Agents: Complete 8 weeks of Criminal Investigator School and 8 weeks of Special Agent Basic School at FLETC, followed by one year to 18 months of monitored on-the-job training.

Both have more extensive training than ICE agents.

Can I see yer fishin' license, boyeeeeeee?

By the way, the training period for Chick-Fil-A leadership positions can last up to two years.

The training to become a McDonald's manager lasts 56 days, but to be a franchisee, the training lasts up to a year.

2.) How long did your police training last?

That will answer two of the questions you had!

The thread title refers to the ICE training period compared to that of dog catchers, and I went on to make other comparisons as well note ICE qualifications. This is called "expanding on a topic."

But at this point, I'm wondering how may jobs out there require less training than an ICE agent.

Perhaps being a criminal, but being a really good one would take some education and training.

If they expanded the training to 48 days maybe they can cover “how  to keep your fat a$$ from getting hit by vehicles”

Seems like learning how to not go in front of a moving vehicle is something taught at an early age, but seeing that the aforementioned ICE qualifications don't exclude 10-year-olds, perhaps the dedicating the 48th training day to this subject matter is warranted.

It would be worth it even if it saves just one life!

Children generally learn to cross streets independently around age 10, though some research suggests up to 14 years old, as it involves complex judgment of speed and distance that develops with age; younger kids (under 10) need adult supervision due to cognitive limitations, while 7-9 year olds can learn detailed habits with practice before potentially going solo at 10+.
Key Developmental Factors
  • Under 10: Children lack the perceptual and cognitive skills to judge car speed/distance and handle complex situations like multi-lane roads, requiring constant adult supervision.
  • Ages 7-9: Focus on building consistent habits (stop, look, listen, walk) and understanding different situations with adult guidance.
  • Age 10+: Many children are ready for less supervision, but consistent skill mastery is crucial before going alone.
  • Research Insights: Some studies indicate that the complex judgment needed for busy streets isn't fully developed until around age 14, highlighting the difficulty of the task.
