I think the implications beyond this season would be dire if they bench Stroud there mid-game.  What it would do for his confidence, his teammates and coaches confidence in him, or his future outlook in the NFL.  You're basically giving up on him having success in the league. 

The way they went about it, there's a window that with improved o-line, better weapons around him, maybe he can still turn it around. 

But yeah, if there was a chance for them to beat the Broncos, it was going to be with mills.

If he’s that fragile then he’s already done IMO. 

I can’t recall another 2 game stretch all things considered that was that bad by a top talent QB.

I agree . Considering he played the same way against Pittsburgh but they were too inept to do anything offensively and he actually had a running game . I was shocked they rode Stroud to the bottom

I don’t think Stidham is a downgrade from Bo Nix, not enough to alter who wins Broncos or Patriots.

Not sure where you guys consume sports media or anything, but if someone is out there saying Stidham isn't a downgrade from Nix, please run the other direction and never go back to that source.

I looked up all of his stats and made my own opinion. People I listened to in sports talk act like the Broncos are going to have no yards passing and a lot of 3 and outs.

I mean you could have that phenomenon where the backup comes in and plays well before tailing off in subsequent games, but Stidham has all week to think about this game.  He's going to waste all that A+ focus in practice reps and settle at his level.

Yeah, definitely a little sophomore slump. That’s definitely doesn’t take away from the fact that even with those numbers certainly isn’t an upgrade. It’s very much a downgrade. Guy hasn’t thrown a pass in how long now?

my point is Stroud was trash and if they had a QB that didn’t turn it over 16 times with a pick 6, Texans win

 

this thread is not about Stidham being good. It’s about Stroud being the worst quarterback ever.

I wonder if Stroud's issues come from Houston NOT prioritizing the OL this or last year.  Didn't they trade Tunsil before the season started?  FFS if you protect the QB at least a little better he won't shiot the bed.

I also keep hearing about Denver defense winning the game with Maye strip-sacks.  While that might be an issue I also think the NE run-stuffing D could press a pine-smitten Stidham into having to win the game with just a week's worth of practice trying to find timing with downfield receivers and stone-hands Sutton.
