tanatastic 2,061 Posted February 15, 2018 Im sure Ed will scream in here telling me its a moon mission or whatever and he posted about it weeks ago, but whatever. Like Dave Chappelle, Netflix paid Rock obscene millions to make a couple comedy specials and his new one, Tamborine became available yesterday. I watched it last night and its a tale of 2 halves. 1st half is cringey and unfunny stuff including BLM, bullying and politics. Disappointed as I was looking forward to that material. Then the 2nd half is far better and funny bits about relationships, divorce etc. worth a watch as a Rock fan bit its nowhere close to his other legendary specials. tanatastic 2,061 Posted February 15, 2018 Let me guess...He bashed white people. Big time, and I was looking forward to that being some of the best stuff, but it fell flat and wasnt really funny. He implied that cops never shoot whites and only shoot blacks, which is drastically wrong and Im pretty sure more whites get shot than blacks. We just dont see it on the news. cbfalcon 824 Posted February 15, 2018 Chappelle did 4 last year. 2 sets of 2. 2 were really funny (the first of each set of two). 1 was half funny and half good but too serious (the one in the small club) 1 sucked (Austin) I'll watch Chris Rock's, but he has never been super high on my list. tanatastic 2,061 Posted February 15, 2018 Yea I watched chappelles specials and they were just ok. I do love Netflix having these guys come out with new material though, it’s good to see.
edjr 5,567 Posted February 15, 2018 His last stand up was terrible. Was like 10+ years ago I think. his 1st 3, were all A+ brilliant also Chappelle isn't funny
wiffleball 4,642 Posted February 15, 2018 I put him and Leslie Jones That Hideous a gorilla from Saturday Night Live in the same boat. I don't understand why so many black alleged comedians think it's funny just to scream at people. It's not even a racial thing. Patrice O'Neal is easily in my top three favorite comedians. Prior didn't have to scream at people even Chappelle doesn't pull that .
IGotWorms 3,315 Posted February 16, 2018 I saw a couple of Chapelles new ones. One was terrible and the other was pretty good. Really never been that interested in Chris Rock though.

Watched it and I agree with your take. First half is okay, a few laughs here and there but a lot of stuff falls flat. Second half is great
