****Official 60s Music Draft**** (Complete)

Recommended Posts

With all the songs I considered earlier...some still there I switched some things up and had 2 songs to pick from...zoner just took one of them...so making my decision easier. Going with something quite a bit different here in an instrumental. But definitely has the sound I want and just a song everyone knows when they hear it.

7.09 Green Onions, Booker T and MGs

Love that song and thought its use in the film American Grafitti was perfect.

Don't know how much of a fan you are but his project Potatoe Hole from '09 is damn good, even had Neil Young playing some guitar. Here's a sample

True bit still OK. It was accepting it in the 70s draft where we screwed up.

7.11 ~ Big Guy = The Boxer - Simon & Garfunkle

"A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest" is the single most defining characteristic that transcends every political discussion in the history of this forarm.

Considered this many times. It was this and Spirit in the Sky that I wanted from day 1 but lost out on both. Good pick.

You know today was two for Tuesday and they played Born to be Wild then Magic Carpet Ride and as I was driving and I was thinking MCR might even me a better song.

Although BTBW is the standard.

Great pick Daino

Thanks brother

I've always liked BTBW but Magic Carpet Ride is my favorite by them

TBC baby.

Elvis used to give out TBC with a lightning bolt necklaces to his inner circle. Taking Care of Business in a flash. So I found the son of the jeweler that made them for him. He's a jeweler also. I had him made me one from his fathers original mold. Since it was being made especially for me, I had him do it in white gold instead of the yellow gold that Elvis gave out. I thought it would give the lightning bolt a little more flash.

I had a freind name his company TCB back in the 80's. He also had a jeweler make a replica of the lightning bolt necklace. In hind sight that was a gawdy peice of jewelry.

Let her know we have a weird sense of humor and we're just messing around.

For not very mysterious reasons, people with normal dispositions recoil in terror at us which is what she's going through. The initiation is difficult, she risks insanity dealing with personal insults and crass requests for pics of her cans. But this forum is also like chili peppers, if you stick around long enough, you develop a thick skin and get use to it and maybe even like it, God forbid.

The trick is to know it's not about laughing at her, an invitation to ljoin the group where we augh with each other at each other and all be friends in the end. Mostly. If you get into political arguments, the jokes are indeed mean-spirited and hateful.

Mobb Deep and I don't like each other's music very much but there's no carry over effect. We get along great. If if were a political argument rather than a musical one, well, there's a chance we'd be enemies for life.

Gawdy. You should see my faux snake skin blazer. I was up grading my wardrobe for work and saw it a window and thought that's the gawdiest thing I've ever seen. I have to have it."

People love it. The women at work are flirting with me some. I wear it ubering sometimes and every woman has to touch it. Someone tries to buy it from me every time I wear it ubering. People hang out their car windows yelling that they love it. Best purchase I've ever made.

I picked The Boxer in the 70s draft; we've been going by album release:

Released January 26, 1970
Recorded November 1969
Studio Studio B and Studio E, Columbia Studio Building, 49 East 52nd Street, New York City; CBS Columbia Square, Los Angeles[1][2]
Length 36:29
Label Columbia
Producer Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, Roy Halee

Since it was released separately as a single in 69 though, I've got no problem with drafting it here.
