I just ubered to the airport; my driver was a dood in his late 50s, seemed like maybe a stoner. I watched for him checking his phone for draft updates, no dice, so it probably wasn't TEK. But I can't be sure.

I like your movie idea. You could do something like everyone has to have a comedy, drama, musical and on and on.

That would be great fun! Maybe a general one 1st, then if it goes well maybe more in different genres. B)

Speaking of getting stoned, I feel like this song might be best listened to whilst stoned. Nonetheless, big fan either way

Sorry and I am glad you moved on without me. Let me catch. Was busy at work - taking the next two days off.

That said I will be in the mountains at a ski resort and I have no idea about wifi or cell service.

So if. I do not respond within an hour - skip me.

9.01 The Letter = The Box Tops

If any of you have never sent box tops in a letter before, you're probably too young for the 60's draft. :P

That's a great one. There's a laughing version. He sings do you look at your bald head and wish you had hair. And he see's this bald guy in the front table and the guy starts rubbing his head and flirting with him. Elvis couldn't get through the spoken part. He was just laughing through out it. It's a fan favorite.

The 60's has limited ABB options and Whipping Post was already taken. This is another good jamming song from their debut album.

Time for my first song from Forrest Gump. Frankly, I am surprised it took this long.

Curtis Mayfield wrote the song by calling up various sermons hed heard in church.

Not preachy or hymn-like, rather a smooth r&b groove behind lyrics with a message of community and spirituality

It doesn't matter what color or faith you have," Curtis told Goldmine in 1997. "I'm pleased the lyrics can be of value to anybody."

Another artist once stole some of the verse for one of his own hit songs, then recorded a second version crediting Mayfield years later.

Many artists covered this song and I came to know a version recorded in the 80s. It instantly became one of my all time favorites.

This is also one of the first songs I ever sang in front of an audience.

From 1965, Ill take the original.
