AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted September 1, 2015 I NEVER EVER draft a K. I don't even take one with the last pick. Instead, I take my last pick and consider it an extra flier pick and use it on a high upside guy and let the preseason play itself out. Then I'll add a K off the FA list the day before the season starts. Last year that guy was Cody Parkey and he worked out really well. I know no one likes to talk Kickers but the fact remains they are starters on your team and a good one can be the difference in a close game between winning and losing. Who are some intriguing options who could end up being in the top 5? Brandon McManus Broncos: Playing for Peyton offense. Dustin Hopkins Saints: Indoors in the dome for Brees and Co. Blair Walsh Vikings: Very strong leg and Minny looks more consistent on offense. Greg Zuerlein Rams: Legatron has never lived up to his name but might be his best shot this season. Josh Scobee Steelers: Always consistent moves to a better team. Who are you drafting/looking to target?
Criper 24 Posted September 1, 2015 Blair Walsh has been awful this preseason since getting paid. I like Zach Hocker in NO, not convinced Dustin Hopkins wins that job yet.
NEWPOSTERGUY! 266 Posted September 1, 2015 - Saints kickers attempt the least amount of fgs, by far ... remember a few years ago Phil Dawson *made* more fgs than the Saints *attempted* ... low volume on the threes there, don't fall for that trap. two guys who just get it done year in year out: Matt Bryant and Seabass ... didja see the Raiders game last Sunday? dude is a legit weapon, even after all these years -
Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted September 1, 2015 My vote is Legatron. I think i have him in every single league. I actually was so bent on drafting him that i didnt realize Justin Tucker was still on the board in a big time kicker league. Tucker went a few picks later as like the 5th kicker and i was like IM AND IDIOT But still Zuerlein should be awesome this year. Foles will propel him to greatness. joeH 6 Posted September 1, 2015 Dan Bailey. Has become the most accurate kicker in NFL history, plays at least 1/2 of his games in a dome, and also plays on a team with a really good offense.
Criper 24 Posted September 1, 2015 Saints will operate a more run based offense this year, which will lead to more FG attempts IMO. Brees isn't going throw the ball 650 times like years past. Payton has already stated this, and with the moves they made this off season, trading Graham for the center from Seattle, trading Stills, bringing in Spiller, resigning Ingram, it's obvious their offensive philosophy is changing. Their defense is still bad, and running the ball more frequently is going to keep their defense off the field.

Maulers1973 117 Posted September 1, 2015 Kicker is a little scary this year with the rule change. I can see teams like Philly, NE, GB and maybe Dallas going for 2 more often diminishing the opportunity for the kicker to pick up some points. I've been burned by the NO kicker before. Peyton is agressive and wants TD's. It didn't help that Hartley sucked balls!
stonewall 647 Posted September 1, 2015 Zuerlein should be awesome this year. Foles will propel him to greatness. You really think so? Maybe you are right.......he does have a cannon leg, but has really struggled with inconsistency. In fact, he missed one badly in last weeks preseason game. The guy I have been getting late in the last round in Prater with the Lions. He is out of favor with drafters for some reason, but he was really good down the stretch last year, plays in a dome, has a week 9 bye (set it and forget it), has a lotta leg, and plays with a good offense that has traditionally struggled in the red zone. Denver was stupid to let him go. Prater is the play.
purplengold47 27 Posted September 1, 2015 Steven Hauschka my friends, plays in a tough hard nosed defense oriented division meaning lots of field goals and very limited 2pt conversions.

DaBeerz 88 Posted September 1, 2015 I hate kickers in FF. I would prefer to play in a league that didn't even bother with them. Remember when Marge Simpson drafted the all kicker fantasy team? Yeah that was really lame but it worked. Still not what football fans want though. I hate that my league makes us roster 2 kickers. Hate it. I hate losing to another team because they suck and can't punch it in the endzone, but their stupid kicker got 5 short field goals. Whoopee. So yes, kickers should be burned at the stake (at least for FFB purposes).
tanatastic 2,061 Posted September 1, 2015 Prater missed an xp last game All I remember about Prater is that when he came back to the nfl he was terrible and missed all over the place. Was a total fail. ok he made some kicks down the stretch. i need minimum 85% accuracy or your not even on my radar. Hauschka is the best Kfor my money. winning team thats always in the red zone and never misses.
American Chewy 98 Posted September 1, 2015 If you can't get one of the year in year out proven guys then take one on a team with a solid defense. teams more likely to settle for fgs if they trust their defense. not to mention good defense creates more opportunities. stonewall 647 Posted September 1, 2015 Prater missed an xp last game Yes, I called in a favor to him. Truthfully, we are all gonna have to face the ugly truth that there are going to be some xp's missed this season. Prater did have a rough start in his first game with the Lions in mid November, but righted the ship to go 16/18 on FG's down the stretch (89%) and 23/23 on xp's. He just seems like a guy that has a good situation in domed Detroit, that is available very late in the last round. Obviously, I would rather have Vinatieri. SaintsInDome2006 128 Posted September 1, 2015 I like to talk kickers I think they're a big deal, you have to work on every spot on your roster. I did steer clear of Parkey after owning him last year because I expect some work by Tebow. On the Saints the battle is not done yet, Hocker looked great this weekend, he could win that thing. I think the Saints would go for some 2s if they had Graham but they don't so that could be a good K pickup once the season starts. After that I'd be interested to see a list of new kickers for new teams.

stonewall 647 Posted September 5, 2015 Novak cut today by SD. Kid named Josh Lambo outta Texas A&M gets the job. Hopkins also cut by NO, and Hocker gets the job...although it wouldn't shock me if they bring Novak in. He is almost a 90% FG kicker, but lacks some leg on kickoff's, which is why the Bolts cut him.. Antiramie 50 Posted September 6, 2015 Catanzaro I don't think I've read a single mention of him all offseason, but he was money before Palmer got hurt last season and plays NO and CHI the first two weeks (both top 5 matchups). He also kicks in a dome. He might not be the best guy for the length of the season, but for people who didn't draft a big name guy...keep him on your radar the first few weeks or streaming afterward.
