52 with a 3 yr old? Eesh... Anyway, I'm 58 but had my kids earlier in life so all three are grown and living on their own. The two that live here (and my son's GF) will be here; I don't see them as often as I like, so I look forward to it. Thankfully, I raised the kids right and they love sports (as does my wife) so we'll have football on all day. Son's GF doesn't like sports, but she can play with our two cats or whatever. That being said, even when younger and actively raising 3 kids, it would never occur to me to leave my house and family on the actual holiday. In your scenario, Saturday sounds like a great day to get drunk and stoned.

Seems I quit quitting caffeine. Since this post, I've moved to the refillable Keurig cups, and I've grown to like it stronger, so I put in new coffee grounds for the second fill of the mug (a 30 ounce Yeti). I guess that works out to 1 cup of caffeinated coffee. I sip this during the day; sometimes I get to 5PM and still haven't finished it. It's become a comfort thing, like sucking a perky nipple, which interestingly, I still like to do. I hate black coffee, though. I blend in some Skinny Syrup flavors (like, caramel toffee) and also add in a part of a packet of LMNT hydration power (chocolate caramel). For cream, I got a Nespresso frother thingy for Christmas years ago that froths the milk to a smooth creamy texture, which I pour over the top.
