JTB 52 Posted November 8, 2016 A state proposition on Tuesday's ballot here involves the kind of workplace safety issue that seems like it could only come out of California: whether to mandate condom use for adult film actors. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2016/11/08/californians-vote-condom-use-porn-actors/93464012/ Brings new meaning to wearing a hard hat on the job site. TheNewGirl 1,031 Posted November 8, 2016 I voted yes on that one. Mainly because of the health care costs of the diseases that these nasty ho's can get. Wear a condom. Prevent disease and pregnancy. Save money. Maybe not a LOT of money, but the costs of the HIV or the AIDS are probably pretty considerable.

When 100% of the people of a profession are 100% against it, that in itself should tell you something. Voting yes on this is one of the biggest busybody votes of all time. If this passes, which of course the liberals in this state will see to it that it does, you can say goodbye to this industry in California. Prepare for cities like Chatsworth to lose a bulk of their businesses.
frank 2,145 Posted November 8, 2016 Don't those people get tested all the time? It would make more sense to require everyone else to use condoms.
Frank M 181 Posted November 8, 2016 Not to mention that the consumers won't buy pron where the actors wear condoms. People in that industry know what they're getting themselves into.
RaiderHaters Revenge 3,584 Posted November 8, 2016 there is no way in hell this should pass, it will kill the industry in California, as for healthcare costs thats a BS cover, most major studios pay for all of their actors healthcare
giraldi02 470 Posted November 8, 2016 Don't those people get tested all the time? It would make more sense to require everyone else to use condoms. The condom aspect is only one part of this bill. It subjects every single worker in that industry to not only lawsuits, but the release of ALL their personal information. The California Democrat Party AND the California Republican Party oppose this bill. You're going to see a hundred frivolous lawsuits immediately from religious groups and busybodies in this state. I can safely say, if this passes, the financial impact to California is going to be noticed in the towns where they predominantly film. This is a proposition to enrich and empower Michael Weinstein

giraldi02 470 Posted November 8, 2016 Who is Michael Weinstein? He's the person that brought this proposition to fruition. His group, the Aids Healthcare Foundation, would essentially have all the power in the state of California to defend this law. They would also be the ones filing lawsuits against people. It's a get-rich quick action for him. He would be granted a position that essentially has more power than the Attorney General, and it would come (pardon the pun) if he doesn't feel the OSHA and/or the state aren't enforcing regulations to his liking, and he would hold it unless he was voted out with a 2/3 ratio in both houses. He would be harder to remove from office than nearly any political figure in the state.

mobb_deep 917 Posted November 8, 2016 Don't those people get tested all the time? It would make more sense to require everyone else to use condoms. Yes. And the tests they take are much better than the tests they would be regulated to take if this passes. I voted NO.
edjr 5,567 Posted November 8, 2016 Guarantee you porn "actors" (ahem) are far safer and get tested far more often than your typical neighborhood ho.
