ZeroTolerance 584 Posted October 23, 2005 Was this on ESPN just now? Yes. Keyshaun bitching pretty badly...comparing himself to Irvin's level, saying Irvin couldn't play for Parcells.

Vince44 205 Posted October 24, 2005 I'd rather have Michael Irvin as my WR anyday over Keyshawn, he's got a lot of nerve ripping Irvin on his little radio show, who listens to it anyway? Irvin was a key part of three SB's, he was a leader on the field, the only thing Keyshawn has won was a credit to the defense of the team he played on and then he got sat down the next year by Chucky. This guy takes this " I'm a Parcells guy, you're not" crap way too seriously.

prymetyme25 0 Posted October 24, 2005 well if you look at the numbers by the end of this year and next keyshawn will pretty much surpass all of Irvins numbers for a career. So there is a legitimate comparison. The fact that no one like keyshawn makes it sound ridiculous. michael Irvin G 159 REC 750 YDS 11904 AVG 15.9 TD 65 Keyshawn johnson G rec recyrd y/g recavg td 142 704 9293 65.4 13.2

The Moz 69 Posted October 24, 2005 Irvin said right to MeShawns face -- Comparing my carrer to yours would be an injustice to me and only belittle my carrer -- now what do you have to say in response to that ? Key loooked like he justb got punched in the balls ! truth is Irvin was a better WR but was the benificary of being on one of the best teams ever. If Key had Aikman , Emmitt , and that oline -- maybe he put up those same stats !

Sweetness_34 0 Posted October 24, 2005 The problem is the WRs are always the focking selfish ###### on a team. I wish the OL would pound any WR that opens his trap. These guys get hit the least in any given game, play outside on most plays where they simply block for a little while or go out of bounds after making a catch. But they talk soooo much and are focking primdonnas.

Guest Loose Circuits Posted October 24, 2005 Not a Keyshawn fan, but his numbers are comparable. He's had to use many different QB's in his career. He could end up w/ better numbers than Michael. In other words, his point was valid. I wouldn't say with the numbers Key and Teresa have been putting up that Dallas has 2 #2 rec's. I think they have 2 #1's if anything. Granted they don't have a TO, Chad, Moss, Steve Smith, Holt, or someone of that nature, but both have been equally effective. ....and this is coming from an Eagles fan that's slightly worried. RLLD 4,228 Posted October 24, 2005 I just thought it was purty greta watching two asshats try to outpunk each other One day I hope to see those two fockwits Owens and Moss have a similar discussion... Hey! Remember when the Colts beat up on the Buc last season. Meshawn was miked up and spouting off about Harrison.... Now.....he should NEVER compare himself to a class-act like Harrison
DixieDevils 0 Posted October 24, 2005 Keyshawn probably will end up with better numbers than Irvin. Does that make him better? Uh, no. Why? Look at the facts, Irvin played on a team that was a heavy run-first team in the 2nd half of games. The O-line and Emmitt Smith carried the Cowboys to three Super Bowls. Aikman was a solid QB who didn't lose games. He didn't win many on his own, either. But he didn't have, too, so the receiver numbers weren's astronomical. Keyshawn has always been about himself. Me, me, Meshawn. I don't recall Irvin ever being banned from his team, like Keyshawn was in Tampa. Yes, Irvin had more off-the-field issues with drugs, cheating, etc., but he fessed up to those and even mentioned them on TV two weeks ago after the Vikings' sex boat trip. Keyshawn should do his talking on the field. Oh, wait, he's not nearly as good as he thinks he is. And I say this as a Cowboys fan.

CookieG 4 Posted October 24, 2005 The main difference in the two, when you take the personnel & team around them out've it, is that Irvin was faster and could break open a game with a big play. Now Keyshawn is pretty fearless over the middle and a big dude, has good hands and blocks. All things that deserve credit -- if he didn't do those things, he be out've work. In a big game in their primes i'd rather have Irvin easily --

tha A man 0 Posted October 25, 2005 im a huge cowboys fan and i do think that keyshawn is a good player and regardless of what everyone says a team player he has only had one time he has been a problem since becoming a cowboy. and in todays league i dont think irvin would have the success that he had when he was back in the day. prymetyme25 0 Posted October 25, 2005 So you guys are telling me that Doing all that off field stuff and admitting to it is better than not doing it at all. Fact of the matter is that keyshawn will end up with better numbers than Irvin though the numbers aren't great for either but his will be better. And for the guy who said that Irvin played in a run first offense.. sorry dumb point keyshawn jets on parcells hmm....dont think he had a qb throw more than 25 tds tampa on dungy's team run first and his qbs were difler and shaun king give me a break. dallas back with parcells ..... no need to explain. besides keyshawn even had a punter for a qb and caught a td. Trojan35 0 Posted October 25, 2005 And for the guy who said that Irvin played in a run first offense.. Yeah, Irvin and Aikman were the reason it was run first. I hate the Cowboys, but Emmitt and the o-line were awesome. Aikman and Irvin stunk.

beantownbrown 0 Posted October 25, 2005 The interview happened because Irvin ripped Keyshawn earlier and now they were settling their differences face-to-face.I loved it. Have some new respect for Keyshawn Me too. I have to say he won that debate. He's played with 12 different QBs, Irvin played with a hall of famer his entire career and also one of the best supporting casts of all time. I've never been a fan of Key, but Irvin is the bigger idiot for making it a point every week to bash Keyshawn. I don't like KJ but you got to give it to the guy for being as tough as they come at WR. Also, when all his said and done his numbers will likely be better than Irvin's. Definitely in yards, and close in TDs.
