Latin Pimp 0 Posted May 12, 2006 wow, we took over St. Maarten? actually, you can grab cubans in St. Maarten on Front St. Shoot for a box of Punch or Partagas in the $110- range. highly recommended. PR & St Thomas are US controlled only. check oot www.cruisereviews.com for some great tips rccl is fantastic if that's what you're sailing....... i acutally posted some great tips over at FBG for cruising, recommended reading...... davebg 0 Posted May 12, 2006 Never been on carnival, so can't say one way or the other. Mrs. DaveBG & I were in St. Martin and St. Thomas last summer for a cruise. St. Martin had an excursion where you zip line thru trees in a rain forest...very cool. St. Thomas we did a power snorkel at Sea turtle Island...again very cool. My advice...try to do your excursions first thing and then shop/sit on the beach in the afternoon. It gets you off of the ship earlier and that way you can take your time in the afternoon and not worry about the ship leaving w/out you (this is a big concern if you book excursions through someone other than the cruiseline.) The auctions take place on the boat and are usally during "at sea days." Like I said you get free stuff and have a chance to win stuff too. Also make sure you go to the shows. Hopefully you have the late dinner so you can almost go straight to the show. Bingo is fun too.
