Vick is an obvious. He's a great talent but he's never been able to lead his team when it matters. His pocket presence is laughable, and he can't seem to see anybody on the field besides Crumpler (maybe he has the Trent Green, Madden 2006 cone)

for D as much as I hate to do it I had to go for my boy from the big blue Woodson. He was such a great talent at M but just never seemed to stay healthy for long enough to ever do anything spectacular in the NFL.

sehorn.. its sad to see the riches hes brough in and the honey he married..all while being a db that never tackled....

vick..hes a highlight reel until the games outside in the playoffs..i know, except for the mike sherman led packers who treated that game as if the weather and home field would give them 7 points off the bat...

after that, people said, see? vick is a money player! yeah, right..it was the packers who sucked..favre made that team better than they really were and they feasted on a poor division..once favre started to go south, it exposed the team and still has...but favre doesnt put himself before the team though...

also, 40 is pretty overrated these days also...

Sapp is easily the most over-hyped defensive player, and I think Keyshawn is a fine candidate for over-hyped offensive player. You would think he's going to the Hall of Fame when he is about one step up from Stephon Paige.

Anyone who votes for Favre here is a focking moron. HTH.

Favre has a few good years, got lucky and won a superbowl, big whoop.

That means Trent Dilfer is a great qb too

anyone who's says keyshawn is a moron. i hate the guy too (with a passion), but the fact is that the rate that he's going at, he's gonna finish his career in the top 10 ever in catches (might crack that this year. only needs 80 more catches) and maybe top 15 ever in receiving yards.

sorry, but thats not bad at all over a course of a career.

Not for nuthin, but Favre is second only to Marino in all time passing yards and all time TD passes. You don't do that and be overrated.

Keyshawn:

10 seasons

1000 yard seasons: 4

1300 yard seasons: 0

double digit td seasons: 1 (10)

90+ catch seasons: 1

marvin harrison is already #6 all time in catches, larry centers #9, it's a different era.

Kurt Warner has 2 mvps and a super bowl ring. I guess that makes him the next best

qb all time right behind Favre.

This list is sh!t. I was looking for Brian Bosworth, Tony Mandarich, Blair Thomas, etc...

Most overrated overhyped NFL players, this generation

I spelled it wrong on the first page, wanted to clarify.

You're not saying he isnt overrated are you ?

Come on now....he is pretty bad. He needed a great reciever to make him look almost kinda good. Now what is he gonna do ? Same old McAwfull.

Vick. And it's not even close.

The guy was uber-hyped coming out of college.

He has all sorts of endorsement deals.

He's injury prone.

Has never even had a real good season, let a lone a great one.

and, the ultimate guage of how over-hyped he is....

He's not even the best quarterback on his team.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. Vick went to a team that was among the worst in the league out of college. Since then, as a starter:

Enters the 2006 season ranked sixth in winning percentage among current NFL starting quarterbacks (.618).

Sure, all you clowns like to dog him like you do Shanahan because they don't do what you want, fantasy-wise.

I'll take the wins.

When I started this hobby, Brett Favre was for years -hands down- by far the QB you wanted on your team. Emmitt Smith spent the last 6 years of his career sucking and being on the last tier of starting RBs drafted for FF. You tend to forget how dominant he was when he was younger too.

Favre in his prime was better than any active QB now. I wouldn't spend a high 1st rounder on Peyton Manning.

in Favruh's 15 seasons of starting(including this one cause it's obvious how it turns out)

he has 6 excellent seasons. 30+tds and less than 20 ints.

Emmitt Smith if you consider 1500yards and/or 15 tds excellent, also had 6 of those seasons.

Favre #1 fantasy qb: 3 times. #1 Overall 1 time.

Emmitt #1 fantasy rb: 4 times. #1 Overall 3 times. (Barry Sanders also had 3 number one RB rankings)

Emmitt Overall top 10 fantasy years: 8

Favre Overall top 10 fantasy years: 4

Emmitt Smith has 25% more TDs than any other RB and holds all the records.

Favruh is #2...except for INTs, no one wil touch him when it comes to getting negative fantasy points.

finally though, In the last 6 years of their careers...OVERALL rankings...vs. each other...the record is 3-3 with Emmitt having

the only top 10 overall fantasy finish between them.

In Favre's prime I'd let you use a top pick on him, take Emmitt, Barry, Faulk, George or TDavis in the 1st round myself then several rounds later I'll take John Elway

who from 93 to his final year in 98 averaged 26tds 12ints and 3600yards.

Sapp had a couple of good years but for the most part is overhyped. Seahorn however never deserved the hype.

Favre was the best player in the league for a few years so he lived up to a portion of the hype. Vick has never lived up to the hype.

I guess you didn't read the original post comparing Favruh to Emmitt huh?

I was speaking to both of you. Comparing a RB to a QB with regards to fantasy stats is moronic, especially when the premise of your argument is Emmit>Favre.
