akaoni 0 Posted December 1, 2006 06. Freddie Mercury? 28. Steve Perry? The lead singer from Journey? Of Oh Sherrie fame???? Now that's some good metal!
TK0001 97 Posted December 1, 2006 Listing Eddie Vedder above James Hetfield is absolute sacrilege. Every list like this is controversial, but this one's an actual joke. Why not just put Chakha Khan up there while we're at it?
kutulu 1,552 Posted December 1, 2006 Commented the editors of the magazine: "Assembling our list certainly presented a daunting task considering the breadth and scope of the metal empire during its 35-year reign as rock's most powerful and enduring force. We tried our best not to turn this into some sort of popularity contest where only the most famous (or infamous) frontmen in metal lore were recognized. Sure, the likes of Plant, Halford and Tyler are here, but so are such oft-overlooked notables Mogg, Owens and Sandoval."
frank 2,152 Posted December 1, 2006 40. Bret Michaels What about Jethro Tull? Who is their singer? Also, no Madonna on the list? This is bullcrap.
TK0001 97 Posted December 1, 2006 Chris Cornell, #4 ALL-TIME. Phil Anselmo, #37. Excuse me while I go with the toilet with my breakfast, last night's dinner, and possibly some knee cartilage.
Electric Mayhem 35 Posted December 1, 2006 Seb Bach at 36 is absolutely horrible Gene Simmons blows. How did he rank as high as he did? And the Kurt Cobain love-fest continues. i don't know why he keeps getting so much adoration.
Q.Lazzarus 0 Posted December 1, 2006 Where is Warrel Dane from Nevermore? Mikael Åkerfeldt? Hello people?
Electric Mayhem 35 Posted December 1, 2006 Chris Cornell, #4 ALL-TIME. Phil Anselmo, #37. Excuse me while I go with the toilet with my breakfast, last night's dinner, and possibly some knee cartilage. You can't really think that Anselmo deserves to be higher than Cornell. IMO Cornell & Ozzy should be 1 & 2. Holy crap!! I just saw David Coverdale all the way down at 54!!!! That is a focking travesty. TRAVESTY!!!!!

Q.Lazzarus 0 Posted December 1, 2006 How can you even consider Cornell "heavy metal"? He's not metal, but he is/was a great singer.
kutulu 1,552 Posted December 1, 2006 Gene Simmons blows. How did he rank as high as he did? GOD OF THUNDER!!! AND ROCK AND ROLL!!!
Electric Mayhem 35 Posted December 1, 2006 How can you even consider Cornell "heavy metal"? Early Soundgarden was pretty heavy. They seem to be grouping grunge/metal/hard rock into this thing, so you have to work within the scope of the survey. Zeppelin is by no means Metal, but you can't put Mustaine over Plant because of the misnomer in genre.
Rusty Syringes 478 Posted December 1, 2006 Jimi Hendrix only four notches above Dee Snider.
TK0001 97 Posted December 1, 2006 He's not metal, but he is/was a great singer. I guess. I've always found his voice to be rather average. Of course, my point is he doesn't belong on a metal list. Early Soundgarden was pretty heavy. They seem to be grouping grunge/metal/hard rock into this thing, so you have to work within the scope of the survey. Zeppelin is by no means Metal, but you can't put Mustaine over Plant because of the misnomer in genre. Zeppelin and Sabbath were the Fathers of metal, IMO. Q.Lazzarus 0 Posted December 1, 2006 Cant leave Ben Falgoust off of this list either. I've seen him with both Soilent Green, and Goatwhore. Amazing stage presence. He just commands it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmIQxrgpYxE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na-2XWAW6Q0
Big Blue 06 195 Posted December 1, 2006 There are so many horrors on this list that I can't even single any of them out. On second thought, the fact that Mick Jagger (15) is without sniffing distance of this list tells you all that you need to know. ETA: 71. Fred Durst Okay, I'm leaving this thread now.
