cgod 0 Posted June 14, 2007 I would assume the skeleton in the van was Ben's dad since the song playing when Ben popped the biological warfare can was the same as the music playing when Hurley got the van going. Also, one thing that has been bugging me, what is the name of that song? In an eerie coincidence I had been humming that song all week long (was it in last week's preview?) RicemanX 20 Posted June 14, 2007 From a lost theories site: following the finale episode TTLG some new websites have popped up on the web. these websites have the address’s which are the liscences plates on jack and kates cars in the final episodes. the 2 pages have hidden links, references to more scientists and also books. one of the books relates to the 4 toed statue. the first website is http://www.4QKD695.com, this is kates website. on this page, if you look at the source you will find links to pictures of charlie and nadia and some other pictures which i dont actually understand. it also has the address for jacks page. the address for jacks page is http://www.2saq321.com and is the same, with hidden links, please can you all search through the websites and the source and try and find more references and clues. also there is a link opn one of the pages which leads to an amazan page for a chad j peshark (jack shpehard anagram) which is http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/a1n1k...5295222-8177439 what interested me the most, is that on one of the other forums i go on, someone pointed out that one of the sentances taken from the sources a click seek not = locke in casket (anagram) the good news is, these websites are obviously new as they relate to the latest episodes, yet they are very confusing. however, keep your eyes out on these websites and the amazonone on june the 15th and 16th. im not entirely sure these are official, but with all the flash and time it would of taken, and different references, there pretty convincing. hope i havnt made a fool out of myself discuss I'm sticking with my "back in time" theory. I think the newspaper article wrote about John Locke's death. Instead of someone hanging himself, it was locke getting pushed through the window by his father. Jacob and Locke both told Shepard that it would be a mistake to call that ship, because everyone goes back, Jack becomes the dad, kate is stuck with her dad, and everyone else 's life is pretty much a clutterfock. RicemanX 20 Posted June 15, 2007 I still don't get the whole whispering thing. I think the Others still have some secrets to reveal. Especially with that one other not aging since he met Ben, and also being able to be so quick and stealth. When Walt told his Dad "They are not who they say they are" or whatever, maybe he didn't just mean the tents and dried fish thing, maybe he meant more than that. phillybear 366 Posted June 20, 2007 The phillybear theory on Life, the Lost Universe, and everything else. The answer is 42. So what is the ultimate question? At the conclusion of the Season 3, we are again left with many questions, many new questions, as is the norm at the conclusion of each season of this wonderfully maddening series. So....the ultimate question….what the fock is going on? Simply put, it’s Groundhog Day in the Pacific. For those of you that haven’t seen this very good movie, Bill Murray relives the same day, Groundhog Day, hundreds and hundreds of times, the only one aware of this anomaly. Eventually he gets the sequence of events correct, and finally wakes up on February 3rd. Along the way, Murray becomes exasperated with the reality of redundancy, attempts suicide dozens of times without successfully breaking the cycle, and finally resolves himself to his universe, learning many skills, learning everything about the people in his town, and successfully romances Andie McDowell. A second source of inspiration is from the TV show X-Files, of which the creators of Lost were fans of, and a show where Terry O’Quinn made numerous appearances before co-starring in a X-Files spin off, Millenniumm. In Season Six, episode 15, titled “Monday”, Mulder keeps reliving a certain day over and over, for a total of 51 times, until he gets the sequence of events correct to prevent a bank explosion that kills him and Scully. He slowly gains a bit of memory along the way, makes connection of familiar people and things, and eventually figures out a way to get out of this loop of time. Some key phrases during the crucial final scenes: “Change your fate” and “Everyday you die here and everyday it starts all over again. You can’t want this for her. It’s hell.” The Lost Island controls the fate of the world. Radzinsky was correct in a sense when he told Desmond that he was pushing the button to save the world. The characters on Lost are keys to preventing the end of the world, and until they get it right, they are doomed to repeat the past over and over again. A handful of people know the truth, such as Ben, Locke, possibly some of the Others like Richard, Jacob, the lady in the ring shop that talked to Desmond, and will we see others in the know in future episodes. Let’s examine some of the events that seemed unconnected, until you start to make the Groundhog Day argument…. Ben is the unquestioned leader. Because he remembers the past loops, and is able to manipulate people, knowing what worked in the past will work in this loop, trying to win the chess game of the end of the world, while making himself the leader. He is like Bill Murray learning to play the piano and to ice sculpt, manipulates Chris Elliot and Andie McDowell not to drive back to Pittsburgh because a snow storm is coming. But he has not ultimately succeeded in past time loops, and is constantly trying to fix the mistakes, possibly getting more efficient in every loop. Jacob uttered “Help me” to Locke. This is because he can no longer depend on Ben to save the world, and needs a new hope. Desmond sees Charlie die several times, sees flashes of Claire getting on a plane, etc. He is able to see some of the past time loops as well. Probably due to the hatch explosion and the effect it had on him. Desmond’s episode last season, where he supposedly time traveled/time looped was the most important episode in this series so far. It really foreshadowed what is happening. The woman in the ring shop and possibly the monk in the winery are pushing Desmond towards the island because he is a key character. He has to go there. The Others are the “good guys” because they are trying to save the world. They make up lists and the reason the Others kidnap castaways is because they are not key characters in the final scenes to save the world, so they need to get them out of the way. “They are safe”, but out of the way. The Others do not fear dying, because they know that they will come back alive if the time loop resets. Ben panics over Jack using the radio at the end of Season 3 because he knows this is not how the winning scenario plays out, with more people on the island, people he can’t control. While some wildcard scenarios can play out, but a fatal series of events happen for the time loop to reset again. And this may be one of them. However, Ben is seeing his plans fall apart, coming as a shock to Ben himself. Maybe enough wildcards have been introduced, like Locke, to this island that the scenarios may be new and completely unknown to Ben. Locke is now possibly the catalyst of everything. A changing of the guard in saving the world by way of the island. Jack now knows they need to go back to the island, because he now realizes that they were needed to save the world, and the current reality is all wrong. Only fools are enslaved by time and space. This is the hidden message on the brainwashing tape that Karl is forced to watch. The tape convinces the Others to trust Jacob, and to accept their reality of possibly sacrificing themselves for the greater good of the planet, knowing that they are likely to return in a time loop. This doesn’t explain everything, but is fits as a broad umbrella over some key elements of the show. Feedback is always welcome.

RicemanX 20 Posted June 20, 2007 Hey Philly, that's a great write. You know that I am sticking with the "time traveling" theory theme and you might just have hit it on the spot with this one. I can't wait to see if it works out. You should put this on lost-theories.com and see what everyone thinks, its a very original idea as far as I know it. RicemanX 20 Posted June 21, 2007 quick thing to support philly's theory: When that chick underwater was dying, she said that the password was programmed by a musician. Maybe the password was programmed by Charlie in another previous cycle. And maybe that's why he was so familiar with entering the password. (If you watch, he entered it on the first try without any problems) And isn't "good vibrations" a song Charlie would choose?
kutulu 1,676 Posted June 21, 2007 I am sure this has nothing to do with anything, but I know the LOST writers are big Steven King fans. I was watching the end of The Green Mile again last night. When the old Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) takes his lady friend to the old cabin in the woods at the end to see Mr. Jingles...that cabin looks very similar to Jacob's cabin. Just sayin'
kutulu 1,676 Posted June 21, 2007 Question: Any Lost scoop yet?— Susan Ausiello: How 'bout a Lost tip instead: If you haven't already done so, get thee a ticket to next month's San Diego Comic-Con. And quick. At the Promax convention last week, Team Darlton announced that they will be breaking radio silence about the Season 4 finale at the annual geekfest. "At Comic-Con we will for the first time discuss the events of the finale," Carlton Cuse said. To tide us over until then, Cuse offered this ambiguous tease: "Lost is like a mosaic, and there are 48 tiles left to go in the mosaic. And up until this season, you saw the present island, and you saw the past. And now you’ve seen the future. So when all the tiles are in place, the picture of Lost will be complete." (I warned ya it was ambiguous.) Damon Lindelof chimed in, "The fact that people are saying, 'What is the show going to be next year?' is really exciting for us. People are going, 'Are there going to be flashbacks? Flash forwards? Is it going to be [set] off the island? On the island? Where in time will it be?'" Answers are (hopefully) coming at Comic-Con! Speaking of which, are we all gonna meet up at the Corvette Diner this year or what? Onion rings are on me! Rumor: Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will maintain radio silence about last month's mind-blowing finale until sometime next year. Fiction. They'll be talking about it much, much sooner. (I'll tell you exactly when they'll be spilling the beans in next week's Ask Ausiello.)

kutulu 1,676 Posted July 19, 2007 A press tour perennial: anytime an actor who had a recurring role on a popular series joins the cast of a new show, they're asked whether they'll have a chance to appear from time to time on their old show. Inevitably, the answer is, "I'm so happy to be here on my new show, but if an opportunity to visit my old pals presents itself, I'd like to take it." Even more inevitably, such a reunion doesn't happen until/unless the new show gets canceled -- especially if they're on different networks. Today's contestant in this age-old game: Nestor Carbonell, who played Richard, a seemingly-immortal member of The Others on "Lost" last season, and is now a regular on "Cane," CBS' Cuban-flavored "Godfather" homage, with him as the Sonny Corleone figure in a family of rum and sugar magnates. So, I asked, would he be able to go back to "Lost," even just to solve the mystery of Richard's well-preserved face? And would his "Cane" character age? "You'd probably know the answer to that second one better than I would," Carbonell laughed. As for the first, he gave the stock answer to the question, but "Cane" producer Jonathan Prince acknowledged that it's good PR for the show to have its actors appearing in other popular media, whether it's a small role in a "Batman" film or hopping back to "Lost" for a quick guest spot. The ultimate decision, though, would be up to the network. I tracked down the ultimate decider on that, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler, and asked her whether she'd let Carbonell do a guest spot if the "Lost" producers asked. "Probably not," she said, arguing that they're trying to establish a new show and a new character, and she felt it would confuse the audience to see Carbonell playing roles on two different series at once. Left unanswered (and, admittedly, unasked): would Tassler consider it so confusing if "Lost" was also a CBS show?
RicemanX 20 Posted July 20, 2007 I'm really buying into the "time loop" theory, very similar to what Phillybear thinks. What I heard recently, but havent confirmed myself, was that in the first season, the different flashbacks to the plane (Jack, Charlie, Kate...) were different flights in different time loops. you can tell because the flight attendant asks the plane to fasten their seatbelts slightly differently each time. Like one would say: "Please fasten your seatbelts" and other would say "Please have your seatbelts fastened." Dunno, can someone with the season 1 DVD check this out? kutulu 1,676 Posted August 1, 2007 Ruby in Antwerp, Belgium: Any scoop on Lost?Executive producer Carlton Cuse and line producer Jean Higgins appeared at the LATV Festival last week, and E! Online spoke with them exclusively, getting answers to your questions. As for the for the future of the show in general, here's what Carlton had to say: "Some people speculated that [going forward] the show will be set in the future and then flashbacks to the present, but no, we aren't changing any of the format of the show. We are just adding the flash forwards as an element. They have made a radio call to a freighter, and there are people on that freighter, and it might be logical to imagine that that storyline will continue... The situation is going to be very intense this year. Charlie wrote on his hand not Penny's boat, and the message he wrote on his hand was very important. It was really funny because [ the clip at Comic-Con showed] Mr. Friendly saying, 'by the time you see this, I'm gonna be dead, but I am telling you it's a shame because whoever is going to come after the Others is going to be a hell of a lot worse than we ever were.' Damon and I were listening to him and sort of nodding our head going, 'That's pretty prophetic.' " John in Spokane, Washington: There are rumors of a new Lost set being built along the lines of a temple or ruins. Have you heard anything? According to Ms. Jean Higgins, "I don't expect any [permanent sets] for season four." Ana in Denmark: What can we expect for Jin and Sun this season? According to Carlton: "With Jin and Sun there is a very dynamic situation at work. She's pregnant...the fate of her child, the fate of their marriage, all those questions Damon and I will get to and more this season." Pyotr in Moscow: Good news that Michael is returning to Lost, but what about Walt? Again, Carlton Cuse, "Walt will be back also. But we're not going to get into any details about that." Myrto in Athens: Hello from sunshine-filled Greece. Just one Lost question. Are we going to see Jacob again or learn anything about him in the fourth season? According to Mr. Cuse himself, "Yes, you will see more of Jacob." Francesca in Italy: Please, anything about Sawyer in Lost season four! We asked Carlton if he had a favorite pairing in the triangle, and for what it's worth, he said, "I'm just a Sawyer fan..." Comic-Con 2007 - Spoiler Summary Thanks to all our bloggers who attended last nights Lost Panel at Comic-Con and who bought us all the live updates. I will try to make a summary of all the spoilers from last night. - Event starts off with a clip with Michael Emerson calling the Others a "Rebel Sect" - Also on the clip show "By the time you see this I will be dead," says M.C. Gainey). - Voice-over: "The survival of the Island is now at stake." - Footage of the Lost game is shown (You can see this in the DarkUFO Home page) - Carlton says Rachel probably won't be on the Island. - Damon says the benefits of only doing 16 episodes (versus 22) a year is they can do more ancillary "awesome" stuff. - Damon and Carlton say don't get too attached to Richard Alpert, because Nestor Carbonell's on CBS' Cane. - They're writing episode one, but it's still untitled Shooting starts in four weeks. Q&A Section Q) Wants to know about season three's violent turn and that the powers that be to promise that the Others aren't the good guys. No promises are forthcoming. Carlton says they wanted a showdown, and that involved a body count. Damon says our guys are more violent but prettier. "When Sawyer is punching you in the face, you're like, More please, you're so attractive, can you take your shirt off please?" But when Friendly does it, it's relentless violence. Says Damon, "If the violence stays intense, it will at least be perpetrated by catastrophically good-looking people." Q) Where's Michael? They announce here that Harold is returning as Michael Dawson, but they tell the questioner they're not talking about how or when he returns. Q) Re: Flashbacks Carlton says flashbacks and flashforwards are both on the show going forward. "How far forward" and "with whom" are the Q's. Q) Will Jack and Claire find out they are related? Carlton rings the bell on Damon, but Damon nods furiously. The crowd goes wild. Q) Did Ben get caught by Rousseau on purpose? Did Ben kill the real Henry Gale? Damon says he will answer one of those questions. The asker chooses the capture question. Carlton: "He got caught by accident." Damon volunteers this, regarding Ben vs. Henry Gale: "They had words." Flashbacks/Flashforwards They were running out of plausible flashback material, so it was time to switch gears into flashfowards. The end date allowed them the certainty necessary to add that element into the show without further antagonizing fans. Carlton: "What you saw with Kate and Jack was not the end of the show." Damon: "The show has never really been about getting off the Island...There's this whole chapter of the story that takes place off the Island." Outstanding! Michael Carlton, regarding poor crazy Michael, "He took some extreme actions." Michael's story is about the power of the Island to be redemptive. And this won't be a quick pop by Redemption Island; Harold is a series regular. Michael returns early in the fourth season, or so says Damon. Q) "What questions are fans not asking that we ought to be?" Carlton: "Who's in the coffin?" and rings the bell on himself. D.L. and C.C. ask Harold, "Who do you think is in the coffin?" Harold thinks it's the person with the teenage son...probably Locke! Damon would ask, "Who's on that freighter out there, and what do they want out of the Island?" Carlton would ask, "Okay, Kate and Jack got off the Island? Did anybody else get off the Island?" Q) Will we get back to Libby and was she part of Dharma Carlton: "It is our intention to get to Libby's story this year, and we think you will be happy when we finish that." Damon: "You're not barking up the wrong tree." Q_ Will there be a Danielle flashback soon? Damon: "There are important things going on in that story, and they have to sync up." They'll do that syncing in this season or next. Q) A fan named Aaron asks, "Can I call the monster Cerberus?" Damon says...On the blast-door map, C.V. stood for Cerberus Vents. "That's Dharma's name for it, maybe. Cerberus is one of it's names." Damon: "Aaron, may I call you Cerberus?" Aaron-Cerberus: The monster seems kind of seems like it represents judgment. Why did Eko have to die? Damon: The whole deal with the monster will be definitely answered. Carlton: The monster answer is "not going to be 10 seconds of blank tape." Dharma Film The Comic-Con exclusive clip was "discovered" in "Narvik, Norway." The promised clip is one of the station orientation films, hosted by Marvin Candle under an alias. The footage begins with him getting his makeup done and smoothing down his Dharma labcoat. Bunnies! It's about bunnies! Bunny #15, to be specific. Marvin, who calls himself Dr. Edgar Halifax in this film, identifies it as station six, the Orchid. He says the viewer has probably realized by now that he or she is not working at a mere botanical research unit. He apologizes for making him or her lie to friends and family members about the nature of the work. He mentions something that sounds like "Kasimir effect" and mentions the "unique properties of the Island." Then there's one of Jacob's subliminal messages. It may have been some variation on "as Jacob loves you." Then there's a bunny riot. One of the station's alarms blares, Dr. Halifax/Marvin panics. There's an intercut clip of someone riding a bicycle. The clip is inserted upside-down, and the rider appears to be in the village green of Otherville...And then, amid the chaos (perhaps this is the Incident?), the filmstrip slides off the reel. kutulu 1,676 Posted August 30, 2007 My good friend The ODI was at the E!Online Tater Top Awards (E!Online's own TV Awards Ceremony) and he was chatting with Kristin, the one we love/hate Below is the portion from his Blog write up regarding who was originally intended to be in the coffin: She did drop a interesting tidbit about who was "supposedly" or planned to be in the coffin and that the producers initially planned to show the person but changed their minds because they felt it added to the mystery of the finale....the info was from her sources on the show...but who really knows if that was the writers intent.....??? Sorry guys I didn't get any pictures taken and do not know when they will air, but as soon as I know I will let you know.....All in all I had a great time and I have a completely whole new different view of Kristin... For those of you that said Ben....nope sorry you were wrong....for those of you that felt it was Michael....nope wrong again.....those who said it is somebody we have not seen before nope wrong once again....BUT for alllll of you that said everyone's favorite hunter Locke....you are right...!! Like I said this is from Kristin who is known to be a VERY reliable source on LOST but she also did say the writers changed their mind about showing Locke....soooo at this point who knows......maybe they will change their minds again....!!?? phillybear 366 Posted August 30, 2007 For the Lost fans who have never seen Alias, the series by JJ Abrams just before he moved on to this current project, you must start watching Alias. The series is excellent, as I'm about halfway through Season 3 out of the 5 made. Fast paced action, cliff hanger every week, some fine acting from some excellent character actors, plot twists worthy of Lost, hatches in the middle of nowhere, defying the laws of space and time, Terry O'Quinn, and Jennifer Garner running around in her underwear. Voltaire 5,315 Posted October 22, 2007 glad you are getting into this buddy. Great show. Too bad we don't get anything new until next year I'll have to wait even longer for when season four finishes to buy the DVD (for 60 cents). But no matter, I'm hooked. I'm going to rewatch them all again soon. Just want tosee how many things I missed and what I can tie together first.

cgod 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Anyone know the date that the premier will be??? About 80% of the people at my college are huge lost fans and really no one knows when it is coming back... My uneducated guess would be sometime around January 9th or 16th. Figure it'll premiere about when other shows resume showing new episodes after the holidays. The Moz 69 Posted October 26, 2007 Lost and 24 are coming on 1 week apart -- not sure who is first though. why couldn't they give us a few episodes early like last year -- bastards ! This season has me a little concerned though -- as now that we know they get off the Island - It takes something away with them still being on there now. I am hoping they start the show with where they left off and the season revolves around them getting back to the Island with flashbacks of what happened after Jack made the phone call. I agree with Phillybear on a few things ( greta write up though ) - While i am no sold on the time loop theory - I am sold on The Others really being the " good guys ". Voltaire 5,315 Posted October 27, 2007 This season has me a little concerned though -- as now that we know they get off the Island - It takes something away with them still being on there now. We don't know they get off the island in season four. We know for sure that sometime between seasons four and six Jack and Kate will for sure get off and (from Desmond's premonition) that Claire and Aaron will board a helicoptor. kutulu 1,676 Posted November 3, 2007 It’s hard to fathom that Lost’s fourth season begins in just a little over three months. I guess it’s true that after a few months in seclusion, you acquire a sense that all things are eternal. From this day forward, all Lost geeks can reset their internal cycles and pretend they are just waiting out a slightly longer than normal summer hiatus. And hey, the Lost Season 3 DVD set is coming out in a month, in Blu Ray nonetheless, and Blu Ray players have even come down in price. Not that we endorse that format, or any format as far as that goes, but good enough for Lost, is good enough for me. While we’re waiting for Lost to return, though, maybe it’s time for us to break a little radio silence of our own and do a little theorizing on some of the latest intel to leak out of Lost island. As you may or may not know, I was recently a visitor to the island that Lost was filmed on, Oahu. Was I there on ‘official’ business, as in business related to the actual production of Lost? That, I seem to have forgotten. Maybe I’ll remember in a month or two. What I can tell you is that during my ‘journey’ there, I did find myself privy to some rumors which seemed ludicrous at the time, but now may be a little closer to reality. Some of it is not so off the wall. In case you don’t remember, the masters of Lost, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, publicly unleashed a new orientation film at this years Comic-Con that introduced us to a new station called “The Orchid.” At first, the fan base wrestled with whether or not to accept the film as canon, mostly because of Dr. Marvin Candle, under yet another pseudonym, famously dropping the f-bomb. A new, not so authorized, picture has shown the world that “The Orchid” not only exists, but will be featured around midway through the fourth season. It’s purpose is still unknown, but a curious set of dinosaur-sized bones sticking from the ground stirs memories of a four-toed foot, and questions over just where the rest of that statue is. In the video, a bunny is apparently duplicated by accident. Now, what is important about this is that Lindelof and company have made a few promises. They have promised no clones. They promised me no twins, or at least that twins were of no importance. But they never said no duplicates from alternate timelines. Although, they have told us that the future, as seen in flash-forwards, is set. I’m not saying that by process of elimination the producers have begun to present us with the bare bones of the more fantastic elements of the story, but they may have. Then again, there is another aspect to television, particularly of the mystery variety, that is sometimes overlooked completely. It is an illusion. A good mystery is like a good magic trick. I had a friend who was into street magic. He used to talk about part of the art being creating the question of whether there was a genuine paranormal force involved. If the audience only thinks of it as a trick, they look for the moment they are fooled, or wonder when it took place. Good magic, in other words, depends on good lies. When I found out that the best mind reading acts involved stooges, I thought that was a bit disingenuous. But the trick, according to my friend, is to make the audience wonder how you were able to pull that off without a stooge. If they believed the lie that the stooge wasn’t in on it, the trick was successful because what the magician wants the audience to believe is that he somehow used trickery to create the illusion of mind reading, and not just used a stooge who was in on it. Two principles of magic that translates very well to the way a story is effectively predicted in a production as open to the media as Lost is. The point of all this? Lindelof and Cuse will never lie to us, but they are masters of semantic illusion. Many theorists are stopped dead in their tracks by what Lost’s writers tell us is accurate, and not. But it would be a mistake to assume that there are any absolutes when it comes to how fine a grain Lost’s-story smiths will winnow out the details of their epic in progress. With The Orchid being canon we know that at least some variation of the concept of duplicating, cloning, or twinism exists in some parallel sensibility, and we also know that the writers have used sly tricks of semantics to avoid admitting that this element exists. Take comfort that no matter the fact that our crazy theories are shot down, only to be validated through a loop-hole of language, the mission of the Lost crew is to excite, dazzle, and amaze us with a story that in its purest form springs from the unexpected. Even if that requires a little verbal slight-of-hand.
