Sorry about responding to this thread late. I had knee surgery last week and had physical therapy last night.

I want to apologize for bad humour. Blame it on the meds.

I wasn't trying to trade picks. He was acting so nice and cuddly, i just asked him to swap the spot since he wants to be so nice. I fully know we voted no to trading picks and that's cool with me. I actually prefer that position. I also don't really mind picking at 6. I've won championship at the 6 spot. I had no intention of giving up my spot.

At least I'm not 10th. :dunno:

Now go back to your debating.

Actually, I knew you were joking. It was pretty obvious.

We'll see what happens, but with something that was *already* a league rule, I would think we should have 100% buy in to change it. "Majority rules" is all well & good for new ideas, but this one was "asked & answered" already.

In the spirit of Ace, I propose we vote on that prior to deciding on this.

Any rules change suggested that was already in the league charter (trading of draft picks for example) must have 100% league buy-in to be passed.

Second?

I vote no on changing draft positions - - that's the fun of the draft randomizer

Do we have all participants accounted for?

Sweetness is out and Little Big Head is in?

Guys, just checking in. As Scooter mentioned, I am playing in a golf tourney. My tee time today is 1:00 pm., Saturday my tee time is 10:00 am., Sunday my tee time is 1:30 pm., hence the reason I will be rushing to get to our draft sunday nite. Should not be a problem with the new time to start. I will check in every nite late until the draft.

Sorry I have not checked in sooner. I have not wanted my schedule to cause anybody any problems. As far as trading of draft picks... My vote is NO. I am not totally opposed for trading of picks in future years, however, it was plainly stated in some of the earliest posts (several times) that there would be no trading of draft picks this year. I believe that if anyone wanted to change this rule from last year, it should have been suggested for a vote well before now. *For me personally, I actually appreciate continuity of the rules from year to year, (regardless of the turnover in owners), but I also can respect other opinions on the matter.

Sorry to hear that Sweetness may not be in the league this year. Seems like he was kind of at the root of getting this league started with his infamous pick of Jerry Porter. I am sure Little bighead will make a great addition though.

Just my thinking.

I agree with this 100% - I would prefer continuity as well.

So far that's 1 person for it (Clash) and 4 against. Ace was wanting to deal picks within rounds, so his vote isn't really relevant, since that's impossible to do on Yahoo (might as well vote to change the color scheme or font).

I agree - it is a shame that Sweetness won't be in. But it is what it is - as Solo would say, he needed to "tighten up" to be in. :D Little Big Head should be a fierce competitor and I am very excited for the competition this year - should be a real bear of a league. Most of us have seen each other's opinions on players/teams all offseason (and in some cases for years before that)...there will be no such thing as a "sleeper" in this league. Honestly last year's draft was my best draft prep last season. I'm very excited to be part of this again. Thank you all for your participation and I'll see you Sunday night.

Back to the meetings...

:D

I am actually opposed to a 100% vote required to change rules from last year. (Nothing should be 100% IMO) However.... I would vote for a super majority of 66.67% (8 votes) to change rules that are already in place from the year before. As I said in my previous post, I actually like continuity in league rules from one year to the next. I believe that new owners should normally accept the rules of the league they are joining, and not lobby to change something that is already in place and working.

I just noticed that I errored on my mathematics. Taking a super majority of 8 votes to change an existing rule would actually be 66.67% not 75%. My bad. I will edit my post to reflect the correct percentage.

I'm going to abstain from this vote...just because I don't really mind either way. I'm not going to trade my draft picks, but I don't mind if someone else does.

I vote that we quit voting on stupid crap like a bunch of vag's and just leave everything as is.

My inevitable victory is basically a foregone conclussion, so let's just stop with the charades.

If you fail to win the championship with the 1.01 this year, you'll never live it down.

By comparison, having the 8th pick if I manage a top 4 finish I'll feel like it was a tremendous achievement.

No pressure though. lol

Haha, as someone who was actually in that league last year, I made sure Q.Lazz was in no way involved in this one.

Never again will I join a FFToday league for any amount of money!

Burn me once, blah blah blah. ;)

What happened? Did Q lazz jank everyone's money?

Yah, it was a 50$ buy-in league on fanball. He paid for the league registration and everything. We all managed our teams as normal, then the day after the championship the dude dissapears. Then he came back and tried to make a few excuses and claimed he was going to pay but eventually dissapeared for good.

I finished like 2nd to last so it wasn't that big of a deal to me. Cinciman and a couple other guys are out a couple hundred bucks though.

Hmmm...you just gave me a great business idea....

A website where everyone can anti-up for their ff leagues, the website keeps the money and then distributes it to the rightful winners at the end of the season.

I'm copyrighting that shiat!

I vote no to trading draft picks even though I'd trade 12 for any other draft position.

12 is great this year!

Remember how you thought my Westbrook & Fitz picks looked like reaches last year?

Drafting by my board (assuming you geeks pick the usual suspects), last year's  picks will look mild.

10 is the terrible one unless you can use it to trade down in 2nd round to move up in 3 and 5

Dems fightin' werds son! I've made a living building league beaters out of the 10 hole.

Fitz had under 1000 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns

And you are bragging about this as your 2nd round pick

I think that is very under par for a #1 wr and a 2nd rounder

Not bragging about the Fitz pick and don't regret it either.

You can't predict injuries (other than Westy of course). Fitz was slowed by a hamstring issues and missed 3 games. Take away the injury & he was a solid top 10 WR. He is just a year removed from a 300+ point fantasy season.

Fitz isn't in my top 5 this year (too much uncertainty with the new offensive scheme). He's not falling out of the 3rd round either because he's more than capable of being the #1 fantasy wideout given the opportunity.

Once the timer expires you will be able to enter the draft room. If you didnt set your own draft board with rankings , you will be using Yahoos board.

It's pretty easy.

You cue up players that you would like to draft with your next pick.

As players are drafted, Yahoo takes them out of the cue for you.

When it's your turn to pick, highlight the guy you want and submit the pick.

I have screwed up before and drafted the wrong player from my que by mistake & one other time my Internet connection wacked out sticking me with the yahoo list pick for a round or two.

There will be glitces & someone may get stuck with computer picks if they don't make it or have trouble. I believe we will go back to slow drafting on the forearm like last year. That was more fun & gave us time to really think about each pick. (Though a week between picks is a long time to wait.)

Psst...Joc...I know we can't trade draft picks, but I'd be willing to trade my 1st two picks for your 1st two picks if you want to work something out. Nudge nudge wink wink know what i mean

This is my first draft on Yahoo so pardon the stupid question...

Is it safe to assume that when the timer on our individual team page reaches zero a link will appear in its place that will take us directly to the draft room? Or do we have to go somewhere else?

I just ate a boat load of lasagna that I made.

Now I got peanuts roasting in the oven so they'll be hot and fresh.

I make my own beer. Tonights draft will be a California Pale Ale. Kinda chocolate hoppy taste. It's 8.2 % alcohol bottled in grolsh (sp) bottles.
