MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted September 12, 2007 How is being on the vikings a bad thing, they have spent alot of money on their line the last couple years, and they finally have played together long enough to gel. Also the falcons actually limited oposing RB's to the 11th fewest points per game last year, certainly not stellar, but above average for sure. I debunked 2 of your theories in 10 seconds with no research, so evidently you did no research.
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted September 12, 2007 I don't own him but I would caution those that do based as you said, it was Atlanta. Which btw is the team my RB is playing (MJD) this week. Incidentally, I live in Atlanta and watched the game. The defensive line got manhandled Sunday. That and they were out there (and probably will be all season given the current offensive scheme) way too long.
BIGPLAYER06 0 Posted September 12, 2007 ok, the vikings line is good but how good is that line gonna be when they are trying to block 8 guys constantly? and the falcons defensive line is undersized, they are made to be pass rushers not run stoppers.
seadog54 20 Posted September 12, 2007 Adrian Peterson = Cadillac Williams remember Cadillac's rookie year when he ran for 150 and a TD in his first game? yeah.... look at him now.
RamslovaMartzhata 3 Posted September 12, 2007 To counter your arguments, I'll offer this simple observation: I haven't seen anything but "stud" out of Adrian Peterson in his NFL career thus far. (I mean... Mad Brad wants to f--- him). I find it ironic that in fantasy football... sometimes people forgot to look at the most important thing, the player themself. Do you think alot of teams gameplanned against Jackson last year? He's better/more experienced this year than last year, so what logic leads you to believe that would be any more of a problem? NatronIsMean 0 Posted September 12, 2007 1.) He played the falcons He plays a lot of 10-30 ranked defenses this year. 2.) Hes on the vikings One of the best o-lines in the league, with a great defense and run-first philosophy. 3.) Defenses in the NFC north are very solid this year Bears are an issue. How did Westy go against GB? 16 points in my format, which is fairly decent with no TD. 4.) Teams will stack the box because Tavaris Jackson cant throw Just as they did last year, when Chester ran for 1200+ 5.) Chester Taylor is going to come back and take a lot of his carries Chester will take 1/2 of his carries max. This is an issue, but not an unknown. 6.) They dont want to overwork him Wha? 7.) Hes not going to catch a 60-yard untouched touchdown pass every week He's as good a bet as any RB in the league sans LT to break a big play. Not that exact play, but it's going to be happen. Look, I hear ya. There are some concerns, but absolutely nothing new or anything that his owners didn't already know. As always, the key is who you could get for him, and whether or not you are in a keeper league. Since I am in a keeper, I'll take my chances...

I see your point about the Falcons defensive line, but how is there line any worse than Detroit or Green Bays. I just watched Lamont Jordan run all over the Lions. I would agree that you should always try to sell players high, but AP is a great player and with 4 total games against the Lions and Packers and the huge left side of the Viking's line, I would say that he will be just fine. BIGPLAYER06 0 Posted September 12, 2007 last year they had brad johnson, who defenses at least had to respect a little bit. Last year I owned chester taylor and it was frusterating because the passing game could do nothing and i saw a lot of 3 and outs from that offense.
BIGPLAYER06 0 Posted September 12, 2007 lol this whole post is just me trying to justify my recent trade. i traded adrian peterson and Lee evans for Laurence maroney and ROY williams
papaluigi 0 Posted September 12, 2007 You may have traded away the next LT2...MAYBE
dreadlocks34 0 Posted September 12, 2007 Chester Taylor ran for 1200 yards behind the same line with a quarterback who could not throw the ball more than 7 yards. Chester Taylor is no Adrian Peterson. Not close.

Hes not going to catch a 60-yard untouched touchdown pass every week Chester Taylor ran for 1200 yards last year with brad johnson at helm, Tavaris Jackson in his second year is much more of a threat especially with a recieving core with a years experience and the addition of Sidney Rice. Adrian Perterson > Chester Taylor...by far even if chester takes 30-40% of the carries AD's # will end up very close to CT's #'s last year and that aint too bad for #2 RB + he will have more TDs the chester the molestor had last year(6 i think) You just cant ignore his talent
BIGPLAYER06 0 Posted September 13, 2007 who would you rather have Laurence Maroney or Adrian Peterson?
Mack 1 6 Posted September 13, 2007 One of the most accurate tenets in fantasy football is having players with upside. AP fits that mode. He simply has too much potential to trade away. Whoever gets rid of this guy now will be kicking themselves by Halloween.
BIGPLAYER06 0 Posted September 13, 2007 i think laurence maroney and roy williams have more upside than AP and Lee Evans, thats why i made the deal.

dreadlocks34 0 Posted September 13, 2007 i like the trade for you. If it is a redraft, I would tend to agree because even if Peterson and Maroney were considered equal, Roy Williams has a clear advantage over Lee Evans.
ricanrockers 39 Posted September 13, 2007 Adrian Peterson = Cadillac Williams remember Cadillac's rookie year when he ran for 150 and a TD in his first game? yeah.... look at him now. Part of the problem is that Tampa's O-Line is horrible.

I hope this was supposed to be sarcastic because in comparing these two players style of playing the running back position you might as well compare Brandon Jacobs to Eric Metcalf. I guess that would be about par for about 90% of the crap you have to wade through here nowadays to find the 10% that may have a use.
Mad Brad 0 Posted September 13, 2007 Bigplayers = smalltimerisktaker HTH We all saw the same thing in college... We all saw the same thing in the pre-season, now we saw it in week #1... What will your excuses be when AD does the same schiot to Detroit in week #2... Then what... Get used to it, AD is gonna kick this leagues arse "All Day" long... Man, I hate haters... Kingstowne Dealers 14 Posted September 13, 2007 I think you made this post because you know you F'ed up by giving away AP for Maroney. You pretty much know what your getting with Maroney, he's one of many very good players on that team. But with AP, he's the ONLY good player on that team! Which makes him the priority, he's gonna get he touches! If Brady(Stat Hog) had it his way Maroney would never see the endzone. He went for 160+ and a TD in his 1st game and you've decided he's peaked?! I wish you were in my league.
