SEATTLE 34 Green Bay 3

Recommended Posts

Another key to the game: the play of DT Rocky Bernard. If he's 100%, he's as good a run-stopper as anyone out there. Think Grady Jackson minus about 75 pounds but just as hard to move. If he can help clog up the middle, Grant's one-cut-and-go style might not work as well as it normally does.

Our most underrated guy the past 5 years. He can create some pass rush up the middle too when his legs are fresh.

I agree about that guy...especially with the uncertainty of the Packer guards for this game.

On the other side...Pickett and Corey Williams could be big factors for GB as well.

What's the deal with all these 34-3 posts? Do the fans think that the first one to post or the one with the most posts will be a boon to their team's success?

It's an old tradition at FFToday started by Walter34 for Packer/Bear games....

Didn't work out that well for him; but that's what made it so funny :dunno:

...much like this thread :wall:

Gotcha.

No worries, donhaas. If this game was in Seattle or Seattle had a legit Tight End, I might think the Seahawks had a chance. I'm also not sold on Hass having the kind of game to compensate for the SH's lack-luster road record. They just seem to be a less talented version of the Packers.

I will, of course, come back to this thread on Saturday and eat crow if I am wrong.

I have no idea why we've never done anything at TE during Holmgren's tenure. I'm glad we lost out on Graham, while better then what we have he's only a slightly better pass catcher then Heller. Pollard is past his prime. We made a run at Shannon Sharpe his last year, but he decided to go back to Denver. We wasted a first round pick to reach on Stevens and then waited around for one half decent year and a big choke job in the playoffs.

Something needs to be done about this in the offseason.

Yes Pollard is old, but he's had a much better season than I would have figured him to have. But at 35, how many more years like that are still in the tank? Prolly zero.

The Stevens choice was pre-Ruskell and if memory serves, he had "character" issues in college (maybe someone else can confirm or refute that), so I doubt that he's the kind of guy the Hawks would choose today. I am hoping they use a 1st day pick on a pass-catching TE so that we don't have to rely on Pollard next season. My preference for the draft is that 1st day picks go for (1) a starting LG, or possibly a new LT to ultimately replace Jones (2) a new TE, and (3) a new safety, since Grant and Russell are both veteran FA pickups, and while playing well this season, we could use some new blood there. I know a lot of people want a new RB but it seems like you can get good talent in the later rounds on RBs.

This year looks like a good year for drafting RBs...

Should be an interesting game. Just killing time until kickoff. About 45 minutes away from the first drink of the day.

Wasn't on all game...because I was watching the game...

Hi Seattle Fans :headbanger:

Great effort today.

The Packers gave you all but 3 of your points.....2 TDs off fumbles and one FG via roughing the kicker. Couldn't stop Favre, couldn't stop Grant. I didn't hear Kerney's name once. Julian Peterson who?....

You guys were wrong.

Packers fans were right.

That is all. No biggie. Everyone is wrong sometimes.

PS: PhillyBear.......Seattle isn't in the same class as Dallas and GB.

I've argued that Seattle deserves to be in the same tier as Dallas and Green Bay for the last 10 weeks around here,

Yes, you did :overhead:

Bad argument

You have argued about Green Bay being equal to Dallas. You had a bad argument as well. See you next Sunday in Dallas.

you'd better hope that Dallas shows up next week...

otherwise, you're right about his bad argument:

Green Bay is NOT equal to Dallas, they're way BETTER!

you can put wings on a pig, but it's still not gonna fly...

anyway, on to watching a 16-0 team go to 16-1

You are absolutely right. I am now convinced the Packers will win and win big. I was foolish to think anything else.

Yes, yes you were

I will say congrats to Seattle...they have become a class organization, and like the Packers are poised to be good for a long time regardless of personnel changes...and I know it's hard for the long-struggling fans to contain themselves, but the smack talk this week was as hilarious as it was over-optimistic.

I have a feeling we'll see you again next year, maybe a week later? :(

I was at the Packers' 1995 Divisional win in SF, when we went up 21-0 in the first quarter and coasted to the victory...in the first half I was getting a lot of crap from the 9'rs faithful about it being a long game...and as we all left the 'stick all I heard was "I hate the loss...but I hate the Cowboys more, don't let them win next week". I must have heard that 20 times after the game, and if Seattle had won I'd be saying the same thing...

The good news is, I think the G men are going to take care of it for everyone tomorrow :(

A Seattle win caused the retirement of Joe Gibbs, will another win on Saturday force the retirement of Favre?

:overhead:

That's going to leave a mark
