listen2me 23 1,873 Posted April 3, 2008 Steal for Carolina. Not saying they shouldn't pick Stewart in any way... But what happens to D. Williams? He was a 1st rounder and it seems like he never got a shot?
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted April 3, 2008 Doucet, Manningham and Stewart were all nice values. Well maybe not Manningham so much in the eye of "experts", but I think he has a great chance of at least being real reliable. Nice to see linemen taking priority over the skill position players, though as stated in this thread a lot of that is because we are drafting for these teams focusing on need (and what team couldnt use new talent on either side of the line). Still, compared to some of the fan mocks you see on other sport related websites, I like the thinking behind most these picks.
Zackattack 0 Posted April 3, 2008 Good value for Carolina but I wouldn't do it. I still think DWill deserves a chance to be a full time starter. They would be better off to wait and grab another RB in round 4 or later.

Two, everything you read about Car. is they want to get back to the smashmouth running of the never bench Steven Davis days...which the J. Stewart pick provides right away, IMO. This would be great value for Carolina and they'd take it in a heartbeat I'd imagine. The only loser here would be Stewart who would lose millions of dollars by dropping this far. It could happen because there's other good football players at other positions coming off the board as well and as I stated before, there's good RB depth in this draft. This would be a good match though for Carolina if they're interested in smashmouth running again. There's no RB on the board with the size Stewart has. I think this is a good mock. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that this is how it goes down. I like how we're shedding our FF glasses and trying to get our teams what they need to succeed. Bishop82 61 Posted April 3, 2008 Bears have to draft at least 2 WR's and Manningham is the best Available on my board. I'm not a big fan of Manningham, but I understand that he is the best available. I hope Early Doucet falls to the Bears.

Even though it's just a mock, I was fairly happy to see Doucet waiting there for the Broncos when I took him. He may not ever be a stud, but I think he's definitely a quality #2 guy in the long run. That's a helluva consollation prize if you ask me. IMO Mario has such a higher ceiling than Doucet. Doucet is definitely good but he's a possession receiver. Manningham could be a game breaker. Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted April 3, 2008 Lions select J.Mayo LB Tenn. This guy is a playmaker who flys all over the place. Lions need help at linebacker. I believe he was great value here. Atlanta would have strongly considered this guy in a couple of picks. Good choice and at least the Lions would be looking decent with their OLB's.
Barnaby Wilde 0 Posted April 3, 2008 Mayo is a great pick. I doubt he'll slide this far come the real draft. He is a playmaker the Lions would love to have on thier defense though.

Yep, I considered him at 31 for the Giants instead of Dan Conner (LB), but I really don't like the name Mayo.

I know the Lions need O-line and some D-line help too. Mayo was who I thought was the best player available. They do have 2 3rd rounds picks to work on filling holes. Vikings4ever 550 Posted April 3, 2008 Vikings don't like the values at positions of need, so they look elsewhere. The Williamses are great, but depth is lacking. Pat can't stay on forever, and is not a pass rusher, so they bring in another big nasty. With Udeze's future in question, he may also see some time at DE on rushing downs. Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted April 3, 2008 I've been playing the fill need card for the most part as Atlanta's GM and I think it's worked decently. Picking up Curtis Lofton and starting him at ILB will allow Brooking to move back to OLB and suddenly Atlanta has a nice looking LB core.

Voice_Of_Reason 0 Posted April 4, 2008 Philadelphia/scherber830 will have till 3:40pm EST today and then we will collectively make the pick for them. After that, we will turn the clock off for the weekend, but hopefully we can blast through a bunch of picks anyway...like last weekend. Voice_Of_Reason 0 Posted April 4, 2008 I went with Ray Rice Rb Rutgers for AZ. They need to find a replacement for Edge sooner rather than later. I also thought about OL and LB here. I like Rice more than the pure speed of J.Charles or C.Johnson.

Three is the magic number ...was just worried people were geting at the pace. Seems like we are doing about a round per week....FYI, I'll be starting a vacation come the weekend of the 19th and will not have any internet access after that date. So I don't have a problem going till then if we go into the 4th round but after that, I'll have to be done.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted April 4, 2008 Kutulu, I've got a big project going at work and may need to drop off picking for Denver. (and before FlaHawker comes in and makes his "fry cook" comment, again, I'll head him off at the pass. We have a HUGE party at the restaurant coming up and peeling/slicing all those potatoes for the fries is gonna take a couple of weeks )
