The problem is self control and self responsibility. Abortion is the quick fix for lack of self control, and is a result of a lack of self-responsibility.

This is a pretty big generalization. There is no 100% effective birth control method. Therefore, even if you're using birth control there's typically a 1% chance of getting pregnant. And that assumes you do everything right. Even with birth control you're eventually going to get pregnant unless someone is fixed.

Having a bad day, huh? You seem a little snippy.

Nope, not having a bad day at all. I thought I asked rather nicely for you to stop referring to my husband as Lurch.

No it won't, not on any large scale at least. However, I more think aborition should be banned because it is just plain wrong, not based on the fact that it is going to change peoples actions or not. People are still going to have sex, some may not because they don't have that safety blanket of an abortion, but most will continue their lives as normal.

Come on, how many people do you know who accidentally got pregnant and decided to keep the baby even though they weren't ready, or didn't want it? I think we all know quite a few, and I don't know any that are resented or abused. Every single mother/father I know says five years later their child is the best thing in their life, and they raise it with love.

Now obviously, there are going to be bad parents out there, and bad parents made worse due to the fact a child is something they didn't want. If those children of bad parents were given a choice to live or die, what would they choose? Let's not pretend that aborting these children is doing them a favor, to spare them of their crappy life...there are alot of bad parents out there.

I am not pretending anything. I am saying that people who do not want a kid are more likley to neglect it at the very least and abuse it at the most. Which in turn is going to add just one more disfunctional member to the world.

Sure some people will be happy they ended up having the kids. But they should have that choice to decide if they can handle having a kid or should they go ahead and abort something they never wanted in the first place.

What is he really tall? I have a friend that is 6"8 and we just call him the giant. Or the human garbage disposal because he will take any drug you put in front of him no questions asked.

This is a misstatement.

If you are using birth control correctly, you can go YEARS without getting pregnant. I was on the pill for close to 8 years, and nary a scare. We used condoms for nearly four years, without any scares. Granted, when we stopped using ANY birth control, I got pregnant immediately.

If you use birth control and you're careless, forgetting a pill, not knowing that taking some other medications an adversly affect the pill, etc. Or, using an older condom, pulling out when shouldn't (causing semen to leak out of the condom), putting a condom on after having been inside her without one, even if it was just for a "minute." (I am sure we are all familliar with the "Let me put it in, just for a minute...")

I dont know dude...my girlfriend uses birth control and I still wear a condom. I know alot of people who do this. Most guys I know do it because they don't trust their girlfriends to take their Birth Control everyday. It sucks sometimes, cause condoms suck...but it's better than getting her pregnant.

I looked at it like...if it is 99% effective and I plan on having sex more than 100 times...the odds are against me. So I do both. That's where that self-responsibility part comes in. But man I hate condoms, but I don't want a kid...and that's where that self-control part comes in

No I see what you're saying man.

But I just think different I guess. Like, as far as adding a dysfunctinal member to the world part...for example people use the whole "Hitler's mom almost had an abortion" theory, but there's a counter to that...like what if Einsteins mom had an abortion?

I don't think it's right to abort a child simply because we think it will end up in a bad home. People from bad homes often grow up fine, and happy. Sometimes, yes they are screwed up. But I just think every one of them should be given a chance. A baby from a bad home is no less valuable than a baby from a good home. And what about adoption?

It is not a misstatement. No birth control method on the market is more than 99% effective, WHEN DONE CORRECTLY. If you do it incorrectly the odds will be worse. There are certainly other variables that come in to play such as the fact that you can only get pregnant like one week out of the month anyways. However, it doesn't change the fact that if you have sex 100 times during the periods when you're capable of getting pregnant you will likely get pregnant once. The fact that you didn't doesn't mean those odds are wrong. It means you played russian roulette and won.

I was disagreeing with the bolded, "You eventually will end up pregnant." It's not true. People go their entire lives using birth control, and end up never getting pregnant.

I never said that the odds were WRONG. I said I disagreed with your statement that you "eventually end up pregnant."

So, it's the girls fault for opening her legs...but it's the man that's REQUIRED for her to actually GET pregnant?

Brilliant.

My point is that they're both involved, yet it's only HER call about the abortion. It's HER body and HER baby. Until the baby is born and he has to pay for everything if they're split up, etc. I'm just saying if she's the only one given the "choice" then give her the focking responsibility too.

Not the bible. Don't impose your personal morality as some kind of fact. I've read every single one of the bible quotes related to this assertion and not ONE says that "life begins at conception".

The Bible says God knows every person in his mother's womb, and some he knew even before their very conception.

Isiah 49:1 reads, The Lord has called me from the womb; From the matrix of my mother the Lord has made mention of my name. Verse 5 reads, and now the Lord says who formed me from the womb to be his servant.

Jeremiah 1:4-5 reads, Then the Lord came to me saying: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.

So the Bible even states that a human is alive before their very conception in the eyes of God. Proverbs 6:16 lists the things God hates the most. Proverbs 6:16 reads, Seven of these are an abomination to the Lord: A proud look, a lying tongue, "Hands that shed innocent blood", a wicked heart, feet that are swift in running to evil, a liar, and one who sows discord. Notice the "Hands that shed innocent blood part". It's the lake of fire for all who take part in an abortion. :pointstosky:

The wicked go to the lake of fire whether they believe in it or not. What you chose to believe does not change the reality of your future destination. Proverbs 16:4 reads, The Lord has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of their doom.

Abortions continue to be allowed because they eliminate a large number of babies being born into unwanted, crack-smoking homes, and eventually growing into crime-committing adults. Read Freakanomics for more details. There is no other moral or societal justification for killing an unborn baby. HTH.

Since the Bible has more surviving and preserved original historical documents then any other preserved ancient historical documents of any other culture on Earth, then all ancient history must be a lie as well. The Bible has the most surviving original documentation, so if it's a lie, then all ancient history is a lie. Better study up on your ancient history, before denying the truth of scripture.

Oh I value human life allright and the fact that I don't really believe in god has nothing to do with my views. I did believe in god at one point and I have ALWAYS had the view that its a womans choice. Because when it boils down to just that. Her choice.

There always have been abortions. There are ALWAYS going to be abortions. If you try to outlaw them the process is just going to go undeground. You will have women getting back alley abortions that endanger the mothers life as much as the unborn child she is trying to abort.

See thats what I don't get all you religious nuts are perfectly fine taking the bible for face value. There really was a flood that covered the ENTIRE world. Moses actually did speak to god through a burning bush, johna was really swallowed by a whale and lived to tell about it.

Sh!t that if i were to tell you today without any previous Knowledge of the bible you would call me a liar. Yet because it is in a book that is 2,000 years old and has been translated and retranslated you believe it.

Okkkkkkkk.
