KillyKillall 0 Posted August 4, 2008 1. Arizona wins the west. Yes, I said Arizona. Seattle takes a step back and no one else is really ready IMO.Since I'm a homer, I'd love to say that, but I think Seattle will top AZ by 1-2 games. I see AZ finishing 8-8 with Seattle at 9-7. 2. Pittsburgh vs. New Orleans Super Bowl. This just seems to make sense to me barring significant injuries. I could see NO, but no way in hell Pittsburgh is gonna make it this year. They're going to win the division at 9-7. 3. Randy Moss will not score over 10 Tds. Teams started to develope coverages that took Randy out of the equation. It will continue. Disagree completely. He'll score 13-18. 4. Ryan Grant busts big time and Brandon Jackson takes over at some point and will be the Ryan Grant draft equivalent in 2009. I could see this one happening 5. Kevin Smith of the Leos is ROY and the Lions do make the playoffs. Lions go 4-12. 6. Rookie WR Adrian Arrington(7th rd.pick) of the Saints cracks the top three WRs on that team by 2009. He was a monster waiting to happen at the University of Michigan but it never materialized. It will happen in the pros. [bThat would be interesting, and would be fun to watch][/b] Other predictions. 1. Leinert plays the entire year. 2. The Dolphins will win 5 games. Division Winners AFC East - Patriots (14-2) AFC North - Steelers (9-7) AFC South - Colts (13-3) AFC West - Chargers (14-2) NFC East - Dallas (12-4) NFC North - Minnesota (11-5) NFC South - Saints (12-4) NFC West - Seahawks (10-6)
Mephisto 15 Posted August 6, 2008 Tommy Maddox will throw for over 5,000-yards this year. Seriously: - Arizona wins their division. - Giants repeat as division winners. - The Lions will go 0-16. - One of the NFC wildcard games will come down to the Eagles and Cowboys. The Eagles will blow them out by nearly 40-points and Romo will choke again. - A team will make the playoffs with an 8-8 finish. I'll guess... hmmm... the Chargers. - Drew Brees will threaten Dan Marino's yardage record but fall short... by say... hmmm... I dunno, 16 yards give or take a few. - The Patriots will NOT make the playoffs this year.
Airmike5000 0 Posted August 6, 2008 (1) The Eagles win the NFC East (2) The Giants miss the playoffs (3) Reggie Bush has 1000yds rushing (thats about 67yds a game) (4) Favre and the Bucs go 6-10 (5) With the Bucs having gone through a 6-10 season, Jon Gruden is fired as Bucs coach
KillyKillall 0 Posted August 6, 2008 Another one: Brett Favre grabs a few business partners, buys the Green Bay Packers, decides he wants to play, sells his owning share to a friend who hires him as #1 and fires all the current management. Brett Favre plays and works as HC, DC, and OC as well as all position coaches. In the first game of the year, he is lit up by any anonymous defensive player and dies on the field. The soap opera ends.
yostevo 0 Posted August 6, 2008 In the first game of the year, he is lit up by any anonymous defensive player and dies on the field. The soap opera ends. Au contraire. 1. First their would be the tragedy of Brett Farve complete with weeks of media coverage of mourning, funerals, speeches, burials and the NFL's life without Brett. 2. posthumously inductions into every HOF possible 3. The stitching of every jersey with a #4 4. Lambeau becomes the frozen tundra of Favre Field 5. Deanna becomes governor of Wisconsen and challenges Clinton in 2012. 6. Interceptions are now referred to as "Bretts" It would be in it's infancy my friend.
Foghorn Leghorn 0 Posted August 6, 2008 1. Marvin Lewis is the first head coach fired this year. 2. Oakland Raiders finish with the 2nd best record in the AFC West (8-8), ahead of the Denver Broncos (7-9). 3. Packers go 12-4 to win the NFC North with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. 4. Lee Evans FINALLY becomes a reliable #1 receiver. 5. Marvin Harrison never plays another regular season down.
idiotec 31 Posted August 6, 2008 Tom Brady, during one of his temper tantrums, finally breaks down and starts crying on the 50 yard line. Afterwards, being utterly embarrassed, he rushes off the field and is never heard from again. Bill Belichick does NOT cheat. The confused “I cannot spell my own name” look on Eli Manning’s face worsens. People begin to speak to him in “baby talk” assuming he is mentally retarded. He becomes spokesman for the Special Olympics beginning in 2009. Ron Dayne has a breakout year, rushing for 1400 yrds and 18 TD’s. Brett Favre, while playing for the Houston Texans, suffers a season ending injury in Week 1. He gracefully retires in the offseason, only to once again ask for reinstatement just a few months later claiming “wheel chair or not, I just want to play football.”

GreatGray 2 Posted August 8, 2008 Ok, while we're at it: 1) Jones-Drew and Ryan Grant both finish as top 5 RBs. 2) Frank Gore becomes the bust of the draft. 3) TO gets injured early in the year, making the rest of the Dallas team mediocre at-best. 4) Favre finishes top 5 for QBs and Thomas Jones finishes in top 10 for RBs. 5) Braylon Edwards finishes as the top WR in the league, with Randy Moss a close second. pimptastic69 0 Posted August 9, 2008 The Bungles defense will finish the season ranked in the upper half of the AFC. Farve will suck in the first few weeks, and will break down in tears even before the NY media starts hounding him for sucking so bad. LT will get injured this year. The Vikings will make it to the Super Bowl, but lose again. Chad Johnson will break the record for receiving yards (1848)

FantasyBowl33 0 Posted August 10, 2008 1. Kyle Orton throws 20+ TD's leading teh bears to the NFCC game. 2. Chad Johnson is the #1 fantasy WR 3. Peyton Manning reclaims status as #1 Fantasy QB throwing for 40 Td's (colts lose 1st playoff game) 4. Randy Moss scores 15 Td's but also passes for 2 (Brady catches 1) 5. Brain Westbrook wins MVP with 10 receiving TD's and 10 rush Td's 6. Brett Favre's streak of starts comes to an end within the first month of season (madden curse) 7. Zarko 0 Posted August 10, 2008 Lets see how badly I get owned due to these predictions Based on going through each game individually and picking the winners. The second number in brackets is how many games I thought they would win without going through each game. So the numbers may not add up AFC East: New England 14-2 (14) Buffalo 8-8 (7) Miami 6-10 (5) New York 4-12 (5) -Will be an interesting division apart from the great stinking ape at the top… Sort of like King Kong last year. Reach the top then get shot down. -Injuries robbed Buffalo from being competitive, especially in defense. I don’t know about the QB situation (not high on Edwards) but the WR corp is decent enough to drag along either QB and Lynch is awesome. I also like Jackson if he gets injured -Bill Parcells can only have a positive contribution on Miami. I really like what he is doing with the defense, making the offense a run first one (EDIT - Pennington is underrated, one of the most accurate QBs going around, and is the perfect fit for a while IMO) -New York is sitting down the bottom, with the severe issues at QB. Pennington is underrated but is perpetually injured due to his throwing motion (almost all power gained from the upper body, huge stress on the shoulder/elbow) Make sure Ainge is all ready for the lead job when you are next pushing Gang Green. (EDIT - Obviously Favre joined the mix - but it won't cahnge much IMO) AFC North: Pittsburgh 11-5 (10) Cleveland 9-7 (10) Baltimore 6-10 (5) Cincinatti 4-12 (6) -A division that interests me greatly. Although I thought I foresaw a small dent for Pittsburgh. -I am not so high on Cleveland to think they can take over fully. I know it must get boring, but anyone could do well at QB with the amount of talent, and Anderson is the recipient. The team jumped on the league when it wasn’t ready, however, when things settled in, Cleveland couldn’t push for the playoffs with poor QB play, 5 INTs in the last two games against Cincy and San Fran, not exactly stellar defenses. He cost them a spot in the playoffs as far as I am concerned… -Baltimore was extremely premature with their firing of Billick. 6 out his 8 seasons were .500 or better, including the 13-3 year in 06. Extremely harsh call and a major overreaction. Flacco is a nice QB who I reckon has potential to be a high end star. Needs work to do, and initially I thought it was a “Wow, look at him throw the ball really far” from the Baltimore draft group, but have since turned a corner. Work to do, and needs work on his decision making, getting beaten by Troy Smith atm, don’t know about Kyle Boller, but in the long term, he could be a really good pick. The D is aging, and now their star offensive lineman in Odgen has gone (despite not being a top end blocker for the past few years), it doesn’t spell great things for McGahee. But McGahee is Mr Consistent, and will work through the changes, and be as productive as ever, and will make up a majority of their scoring. I can see 10+ scores, and it will be interesting to see if he steps up in the receiving game again this year. -Cincy… Well what can you say about Cincy. A good QB. A possibly good WR corp if they can get some things worked out. Ocho is good but didn't want to be there. Still questions about whether Houshmandzadeh can be as effective without Ocho as a threat on the other side. They have one of the worst coaches in Marv in the league (IMO) who was once renowned for his defensive abilities, but can’t do anything for the Cincy defense. Seems he stumbled into a good offensive situation and has driven it into the ground. One of the worst defenses overall. An interesting RB situation (I believe Rudi can get back into old form) and their RB situation is OK, not good, not too bad. Doesn’t spell out to a great year for the Bengals. AFC South: Jacksonville 13-3 (13) Indianapolis 10-6 (12) Houston 9-7 (Lost in head to head against Cleveland) (9) Tennessee 7-9 (6) - Jacksonville will finally take over from the long reign of the Colts. They added two very solid DE’s to help their only REAL weakness in Groves and Harvey, and Garrard finally gets full time, though his receiving corp hasn’t gotten much better. -They will still be supremely competitive obviously but Manning has to succumb to aging and injuries sooner or later, and this year is the year IMO. Luckily they have Addai to fall back on, even though he has never fully been relied on by the Colts. They will come back in again with a very solid defense, not bending nor breaking. -Houston will FINALLY get over .500 in their lifetime, and they are really starting to push. I don’t know whether their O can really do anything as their D will break against their really good O’s, and I don’t think their O can back it up. RB is a mess of randoms and injuries and old people. QB has Schaub, whom I am not a huge fan of. It really is all about their D, and specifically, their line, when against the better opponents. -Tennessee… Overrated players… Overrated team…. Nothing special… Will have to pray that their D can carry them as they did last year. Lendale White was pathetic. Vince Young will never be a good QB in the NFL, and is using his legs less and less… Despite his overall good record as QB, the team wins DESPITE Young and his performance. Should show it this year. (Can you see the hate ) AFC West: San Diego 14-2 (14) Denver 8-8 (6) Oakland 7-9 (7) Kansas City 2-14 (3) -San Diego, dominate again. LdT and Rivers coming off serious or semi-serious knee injuries will be interesting. Cooper out for the first few games. -Denver. A team I didn’t think would do anything, breaking .500 Oh well underestimated their SOS I guess -Oakland. Talked about elsewhere, 1 more year. The FAD won’t do much, hopefully Russell can step into the QB role full time with success. -Worst team in football this year. Though they did a good thing in the draft, and look to be rebuilding from scratch. LJ will be the one to watch from the team. Same line pretty much, can he improve. Plus they don’t have Allen anymore which will make them look as bad as ever. NFC East: Dallas 11-5 (12) New York 10-6 (10) Philadelphia 10-6 (10) Washington 8-8 (8) -The NFC division. Not much to talk about, Dallas a bit worse with Philly getting better, as well as Washington staying about the same. Will be interesting to say the least. Felt I have talked enough about these guys elsewhere so I won’t say much. Asante will make the D better in Philly. York didn’t lose too many key figures. Strahan retired which will hurt but Shockey leaving wasn’t too bad considering what we did without him, and we still have the full coaching staff, including the highest paid coordinator in Spagnuolo NFC North: Minnesota 11-5 (12) Green Bay 8-8 (9) Chicago 4-12 (5) Detroit 2-14 (3) -Green Bay. Bit of a hangover after Favre’s last season. Really one of his best seasons in a long time. Lucky too because people will not remember him for the few abysmal seasons before that. Ryan Grant benefited greatly from Favre playing well, can’t see the same thing happening. Good all over the board though so will still be competitive. All on Rodgers now… -Chiggy and Troit… Horrible, not worth mentioning NFC South: New Orleans 11-5 (12) Tampa Bay 7-9 (8) Atlanta 5-11 (3) Carolina 5-11 (4) - Nothing special here, same two teams up top but Atlanta did surprise. NFC West: Arizona 10-6 (9) Seattle 7-9 (6) St Louis 6-10 (6) San Francisco 5-11 (4) -Seattle WILL be dethroned… San Fran, same issues as last year, especially with the line and QB. Louis will be better if everyone stays healthy. PLAYOFFS REALLY JUST FLICKING AROUND, PICKING FOR FUN PLAYOFFS AFC * San Diego * New England * Jacksonville * Pittsburgh * Indianapolis * Cleveland Jacksonville beats Cleveland Indianapolis beats Pittsburgh San Diego beats Indianapolis Jacksonville beats new England!1!1!1 Jacksonville beats San Diego for the AFC Championship NFC * Dallas * New Orleans * Minnesota * Arizona * New York * Philadelphia New York beats Arizona Minnesota beats Philadelphia New York beats Dallas Minnesota beats New Orleans Minnesota beats New York Jacksonville SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!!!!! He was a monster waiting to happen at the University of Michigan but it never materialized. It will happen in the pros. It would be a shame if he loses a roster spot to that one trick pony Devery Henderson because of injury. Saints WR Adrian Arrington (toe) is not expected to play again until at least the fourth preseason game. Arrington says the injury is "a lot worse than we thought," and there is concern that he won't be able to make enough of an impression to force his way onto the 53-man roster. That could help Henderson's chances, although he's probably behind Robert Meachem as is. Source: Biloxi Sun Herald
