Dems promised to post Porkulus Bill online for 48 hours before vote

Recommended Posts

The Dems won't even let Reps see the bill they expect them to vote on at 9:00 in the morning???? And Uncle Harry and The Moonbat lied to America saying it would be online for 48 hours before the vote.

This Demwit congress is a joke.

In a press conference Thursday, the House Republican leadership spoke candidly about being kept out of the House-Senate conference on the Obama-Pelosi-Reid so-called “economic stimulus” bill. They confirmed they had not yet seen the text of the bill as of 4 p.m.

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he was unsure how many Democrats would vote with Republicans again on this bill but that he thought Republicans “may get a few” Democrats to side with them. The fact that the Demos have now broken their promise to have the public able to see the bill for 48 hours may drive more Dems into the Republican camp.

don’t know, ‘cause they haven’t seen the bill either,” Boehner said.

“The American people have a right to know what’s in this bill,” Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind) told HUMAN EVENTS after the press conference. “Every member of Congress -- Republicans and Democrats -- voted to post this bill on the internet for 48 hours, 48 hours ago. We’ll see if the Democrats keep their word.”

Actually -- as of 5:15 pm, the Democrats had broken their word. The stimulus bill -- which we still haven’t seen -- will be released late tonight and will be brought up on the House floor at 9 am tomorrow.

More importantly, by the time the finally released this POS, they didn't give ANY congressman time to read the damn thing. So they're going to all vote on a bill this morning with no one knowing what's in it. Way to go Congress!

Just a thought...but you would think these guys would automatically vote no to a bill they haven't read yet...right?

I mean, to vote yes on something without even reading it, would be pretty irresponsible for an elected offcicial. I mean, vote no....at least to give more time before a vote is given.

Hell, I don't even sign the bill at a resturant without first reading what I'm being charged for....you'd think a trillion dollar bill would kind of make ya think twice before signing, right?.....

I noticed there wasn't a link for the article in the OP. Just an oversight on RP's part, I'm sure. I wonder if he got it from Drudge or Rush Limbaugh? Hold on while I scour all my favorite right wing sites...

My bad, looks like he got it from World Net Daily instead!

So does this mean you support the bill as written?

Sweet Potato Mashers

You only think you know what sweet potatoes are supposed to taste like. No, they don’t need marshmallows. Try these and be reformed.

Ingredients:

2 large or 3 medium sweet potatoes (about 2 pounds), preferably Beauregards or Garnetts.

3 tbsp unsalted butter

3 tbsp heavy cream

salt and fresh ground pepper

pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon

What to do:

STEP 1: Peel potatoes and cut into small, roughly even pieces, about ¼ inch thick...or as close as you can come to that. As long as they’re small and even, you’ll be fine.

STEP 2: Combine sweets, butter, cream, salt and pepper (to taste) in a large saucepan. (About 1½ layers of potatoes on the bottom; any more and they won’t cook evenly.) Cook, covered, over low heat for 30-45 minutes until potatoes are moist and cooked through. Do give ‘em a stir every once in a while.

STEP 3: Once cooked, add a pinch of nutmeg, and mash thoroughly (in the pan) using a potato masher. Feel free to use a food processor if you don’t like manual labor.

STEP 4: Serve straight up and be amazed. (No marshmallows!)

I understand you need a link b/c you live under a rock and/or don't know how to read. Because this information is all over the major news websites and on tv. You're as clueless as the democrats that you support. HTH

Now that Newbie and Worms got b!tchslapped by Mike and hiked their skirts up to run away as fast as their little crocs could take them, is there any adults who have a comment on how Uncle Harry and The Moonbat have handled this bill?

They caved a little but essentially got what they wanted. Rammed a bunch of spending through on party line votes. Also, they've reunited the Republican Party.

Where did they cave?

Republicans got Obama to ask Pelosi to cut out her money for contraceptions and reseeding the National Mall. Then Specter, Collins and Snow were able to shave off another $50-60 billion or so.

Because I'm not hanging out on a messageboard at 9:00 on a Saturday night means I've hiked up my skirt and ran away! ROFL Seriously Dude. It's Valentine'sDay and a Saturday Night. Turn off the Fox News Channel, shave, grab a shower, and go out and converse with some real people. You're pathetic.

I see Newbie continues to post in these threads. Should I take him off ignore and be dazzled by his in-depth analysis of why the Demwit congress broke their promise to post the bill online for 48 hours?

Or is he still whining about my threads?

Wait, I just mentioned Reagan with my last post..........is he whining about Reagan being the debbil?

Has to be one of the three.

Actually, it's none of the three. I'm simply lambasting you about your sad, pathetic life. You may just want to leave me on ignore. It's probably not a truth you want to hear.

I can appreciate the differences of opinions in these threads, and for the most part everybody articulates their spin on things, but by far the biggest idiot is swamp dog. He brings nothing to the table, doesn't even bother to discusss the issues, merely says his catch phrase of "Der, Bush bad" and scampers away.

I put my spin on things, expect anyone who responds to put their spin on things. I look forward to that even if the response includes name-calling, and comments about my life etc...... Nobody here knows me personally so none of that has any affect on me. Bring it on, just add something.

Swamp dog is one of the worst about adding exactly nothing. He ranks up there with Doh-Duh, Tiki, and Newbie. For some reason these clowns think bringing nothing but personal insults (and the last few days chewing up bandwidth with useless and unrelaed BS) has accomplished something.

They come in, do their useless schtick, and then disappear when cornered into actually having to come up with a coherent thought.

A few random thoughts:

I took Worms off of ignore since Mike brought down the interweb hammer on him.

Newbie had a point; RP gave him a hard time for not being here 9PM his time on Valentines Day. :dunno:

Since learning that from a GAAP perspective our country is more like $50 Trillion in debt, this measely $800B doesn't seem so bad. :headbanger:

it's like arguing with 4th graders. there's a parable about pearls before swines. when i see the first intelligent post about anything concerning politics, government, or our country, i'll turn on the other 90 percent of my brain and give you and the hannity fan club a bone or two. in the interim, keep drinking milwaukee's best and tuning into rush.

cheers.

Tell ya what Skippy, if you don't think our servants spending $1 trillion of our money without reading the bill as worthy of discussion, I'm not sure anyone will ever get to the 90% of your brain you don't use.

:headbanger:

:music_guitarred:

I might add, the 10% you do use is going to waste.
