I gotta agree. I don't like him at all. But that was focking cool as hell. Great song and he blew it out the water. Prolly the best I have ever seen on the show.

I agree that flamer boy did real focking good with that Smokey song last night. I thought he butchered Ring of Fire (Mrs. kutulu thought it was great ). Overall, his "type" of music isn't my cup of tea...but he does do his own thing. You can't really say that about any one else on the show. That pretty looking girl with the tat was god awful last night. I think she would do better with the voting if the audio went out during her performance and you could just look at her assets.

1. Lambert...possibly one of the best performances ever on the show, top 10 for sure all time AI performance.

2-tie. Allison and Matt. Giving Matt the love for leading off the show and doing a very nice version. Alison for closing it out with a great vocal performance and a perfect song choice for her. She is what some people thought Overmeyer was...only 10000 X better.

4. Danny...great voice, but man that guy has no ability to dance or groove. Awkward.

5. Anoop...boring song, but the guy can freaking sing.

6. Kris...he can sing, but there is just nothing that stands out about this guy other than the strange faces he makes when he sings. He is not bad, but he just does not seem to excel at any part of this competition. His voice does not stand out, his guitar playing is pretty meh. He is simply just boring.

7. Scott...look, his voice is getting a little better. He at least hits the notes he goes for most of the time. Still very limited range though.

 

8. Lil...Im sorry, it was boring and borderline just yelling the words.If you look at some of the previous African American females on this show, the ones who do really well, are the ones who have some vocal control and don't just belt out notes.

Fantasia, Jordin, Kimberly Locke....

Those like Lil and Lakeesha or whatever her name was a few years ago with the big gap in the teeth...great powerful voices. But it seems thats all she has is the big notes.

I basically agree, except I wouldn't put Matt that high. He was good enough to get thru, but didn't distance himself.

Really? He can obviously sing, has great range, but he sings in that high-register too much, it's his norm, but I find it uncomfortable. I find myself cringing, it can be just plain unpleasant at times.

 

Disclaimer: It's the wife and kids that watch the show so most of the time I amf half-asleep on the couch just listenting with my eyes shut, so I'm hardly an expert...

1. Ghey dude - Wow what a performance. We're learning that this guy is the obvious favorite at the moment to take the show.

 

2. Danny - I still believe he is running strong in the competition. But he is no longer tied at #1 with Adam, he's fallen into the 2nd tier with Matt, Alison and Kris. But hey, he had fun during the performance, and that's one thing I appreciate.

 

3. Matt - Really shook off that horrible Coldplay performance and came back as the poor man's Justin Timberlake. Props to the guy, he's exceeded my expectations and did great last night.

 

4. Kris - Like I said last time. Not one original bone in his body. He sings and plays the guitar like a crappy John Mayer.

 

5. Alison - Still shocked she was at the bottom 3 last week. But it shows that most of America is tired of the judges saying "OMGZ YOUZ ONLY 16!!!" She'll need to stay consistent, and once the other women get kicked off, her votes will increase. Kris and Matt's votes will wash out and I think she'll still end up as #3.

 

6. Anoop - Great work last night. Proved that he is a great singer. Will need to impress if he wants to stick around.

 

7. Scott - Yawn

 

8. Megan - Look, she's not still in this competition because she's the best singer.

 

9. Little - If she can't out-motown a bunch of whiteys. She won't be able to beat any of them during ABBA night, or 80s rock night. If I had a choice, she would be gone tonight. But it's not my choice.

 

10. Sarver - The song was about pleading to a woman not to leave him. And he's singing it with a smile and no other emotion. Horrible performance. And I really hope he leaves tonight.

megan is taking a hike tonight....she never shouldve made it this far...shes this years brooke gordon...ugh..that voice is weak....there were gals dumped in hollywood week who were better....

So the performance show is an hour and half this week instead of two hours, and it's back on Tuesday night (the new Osbournes show debuts at 9:30). The special musical guests on Wednesday night (9 p.m.) are Season 7 winner David Cook and dance-chart sensation Lady Gaga. Cook's performance was reportedly taped a couple of weeks ago. There isn't, apparently, a mentor this week, and the theme is rumored to be "top iTunes downloads."

Only 3 performances worth noting last night.

 

Lambert, Gokey, and Kris all did great. Allison stumbled, while megan, Lil', Anoop, and matt went on a free fall. Scott played it way too safe, but will hang on. My bottom 3 for this week our Anoop, Matt, and Megan. I still wish we could lose Scott, and i feel megan will hang oanother week. Watch out for her dress next week if she does. Here's praying for that!!!

1. Kris...I have not liked this guy...he can sing, but there was nothing outstanding about him until last night. That was really good.

2. Danny...the guy can flat out sing.

3. Scott...it helps I like Billy Joel...but does anyone else notice he is actually improving and getting better vocally? That was very good, safe, but very good.

4. Adam...he can sing, but the screeching is just not pleasant to listen to and anything he does sounds like a showtune version of the song IMO. Last week was the exception. This week was back to being a great voice that I just don't enjoy...but everyone else was blah last night.

5. Allison...by default...it was not that good either.

6. Matt...a bit awkward, but the guy has some chops.

7. Anoop...I was bored, Simon got it right on as a college wannabe star.

8. Lil...if she is not screaming while belting out high notes, she is missing the notes. She is way overrated by some.

9. Megan...I am starting to think the unique sound of hers is manufactured to try to have a niche on the show...and it is starting to just suck. Still hot though.
