I hate being involved in a perfectly good discussion (which is rare around here anyway) and loggin in to see the responses, only to find that some tvvat has deleted the thread.

About the only time I can see deleting a thread is like when I'm racking my brain for a word or a name or something. If my first googling doesn't get it, then I'll ask around, but if I figger it out on my own after the fact, I'm damn sure not wasting everyone's time reading the thread and responding "Sam Bowie!" or what the fock ever.

I had just tried to post :trainwreck: on that thread, allowing everyone to decide if I meant the thread, others, or TNG, but found the thread missing.

2) The discussion was turning into a relgious debate; take it to the "do you believe in Jesus" thread

3) I get sick of seeing certain posters attack me over and over and over again

 

 

So, instead of boycotting my threads, why don't you ###### quit being ###### and stop attacking me? I took a month long hiatus from this board, and I come back and people are STILL putting my name into thread titles that have NOTHING to do with me...or mentioning my name in threads...WHY?

 

I quit posting here for a bit, and it still happens. So, it's actually NOT about boycotting my threads unless I 'promise not to delete them.' And, it's actually very RARE that I start a thread myself...and like I said earlier, I have perhaps deleted 4 or 5 threads in the last 6 years of my being a member here.

I agree. I can't believe I wasted time putting together a measured, well thought out, honest response to her question. I hate people that delete threads. On another board I'm on that's the reason they removed the ability for people to delete threads. One person may start a thread but once it's got a number of replies it no longer "belongs to" the original poster. It should be considered everyone's intellectual capital and one person, except the owner of the board, should not have discretion to remove it.
