I think the Vikes should keep him as the 3rd string qb or even use the wildcat like Dolphins used last year. Find new ways to use his talent besides a starting qb. He has zero trade value right now so just keep him.

That is what Harvin is for.

TJack should be in a drive thru window asking, "Do you want fries with that?" No way does he belong in the NFL, not with any team, anywhere.

Anyone who puts up four impressive games in a row to end a season deserves a place in the NFL.

IMO some of the hate for TJ is deserved, but most of it isn't. Anyone who watched the last four games of the Vikings regular season must admit TJ has potential, and was starting to realize it.

IMO Favre won't be that much of an upgrade from TJ/Rosenfels and will be asked to do something he is incapable of... manage the game.

In Minnesota the problem isn't the QB, it's the coaching staff, Childress should of been fired two years ago... his vanilla offense is predictable and bland.

As an AP owner I can't tell you how many times I was pissed at the play calling, way too many passes on 2nd/3rd and short...

I'll end this repeating that I don't believe Favre will be much if any of an upgrade, especially after week six-eight when his arm falls off but he thinks he can still finish the season.

Disagree completely. The simple fact that Favre can recognize the defense is an enormous asset to the Vikings running game. Who would you rather have making an audible - Favre or Jackson? He doesn't need to make accurate deep outs. This ain't the days of Carter/Moss/Cunningham.

Seriously, what defense paid any respect to the Vikings passing game last year, and the running game was pretty darn good.

Defenses can't simply play "goal line" against the vikings anymore.

Well, when you're only bonafide receiver is a deep receiver, it helps when your shoulder doesn't already have a tear in it.

Favre was so good at reading defenses that he threw 22 picks last year and single-handedly cost the Jets a playoff spot.

Too much emphasis was IMO put on his part in TJ having a good season, IMO it was more the line coming together and improving.

You could blame his arm injury, but Favre only knows how to play one way... and his physical/mental tools have dropped to a point where he can no longer play effectively like he used to.

IMO he could of played w/ his arm injury and managed the Jets into the playoffs and even possibly a playoff victory... he failed to do that.

Let me emphasize that IMO the Vikings need a game manager (even if less talented), than a has-been gunslinger.

Yes, I'd rather have Jackson/Rosenfels manage the Vikings team than Favre let a lead slip by throwing back to back picks.

As to who would I rather have make an audible? Neither... not like it matters, Favre does whatever the ###### he wants to anyway.

Well, I hope it all works out for you then. In the mean time, I'll tend to think that Favre is a better option than Jackson or Rosenfails. Of the 3 QBs on the roster, IMO, Favre is better than the other 2. (Rosenfails is not exactly the best at finishing games if I recall correctly. )

Yes, but Rosenfels has room to grow. That was one of his first ten starts I believe, mistakes happen when you don't have much game experience.

Let's not forget Favre's 20-40 1 TD 3 pick performance to cap off the season against the Dolphins. Or his 18-31 0 TD 2 Pick loss against the Seahawks. Or where he threw 2 picks against buffalo in a four point game.

Favre WAS a good QB, IMO he no longer is.

For the last two years, all the Vikings needed was for the QB not to fock up. Well, guess what happened?

They've got a defense. They've got a running game. They've got an O-line. They've got decent WR's (not good, but decent). QB has been a complete disgrace. The rest of the division sucks. This kind of opportunity doesn't last forever. It's a race car sans a driver. If Favre can handle that and in the mean time piss off the packers, I'm all for it.

I think Minny has more holes than QB, questionable pass blocking combined w/ average-weak secondary in coverage and middle of the road LB, their strengths since they stole Hutch have been stopping the run and running... to call anything else more than a strength is a stretch imo... the most important thing they are lacking is decent offensive playcalling... You act like they are an average QB away from a championship... I beg to differ... as long as Chilly is head coach the Vikings will be no more than a fringe playoff team.

I think that's where we disagree, you think the problem is QB, I think the problem is coaching/offensive playcalling.

You know who's really loving Favre. Jon David Booty.

Not only was he wearing 4, he gave up his number to Favre, and is about to be cut because who keeps 4 Qbs.

Did they draft J. Booty this year? If so, nice pick. B)

The Hamilton Tiger Cats could use a better backup QB.

I'm not sure he'd make their team.

Well, the Lions do.

I think Minny has one of the better linebacker groups personally.

most of the other stuff is spot on. Hopefully Loadholt will help with the pass blocking,

Step away from the crack pipe dude. They will not be getting rid of JD Booty. Booty will be learn'n from another southern boy in Favre. People always knock Favre for not talking to other players on the team but when you put to good o'l boys from the south together that will change. Booty will be Favres protégé and be better for it

I still hate Farve' and I do not want him on my favorite team...Just for the record.

Seriously? Do you follow sports?

Booty was picked 2 years ago out of USC - have u heard of Mark Sanchez? He was the QB drafted this year.

As for Booty - the Vikings love him as a long term prospect - and every report has them getting rid of T. Jackson and keeping Rosenfails as a backup and Booty as a long-term project.

Sorry for not following closely the legend of JD Booty. So he was a number 3 QB in Minnesota last year behind Tavaris and Gus. Not exactly front page news grabber, the Booty.

I remember him at USC. Just not so much his NFL status.

Sorry, don't really know why I snapped like that, I guess just cause everytime I turn on my TV there's talk of Favre and the Minn. QB situation...everything I've heard says T Jackson is the odd man out as the Vikes love DJB...no big deal

No problem. And yeah, I just saw a report from Minnesota newspapers that they'll try to ship out T-Jax by friday. Wow. The Vikes are a bit of a circus now.

THe Booty lives to carry a clipboard another day.

TJ was a project pick a few years back and was kind of a reach... biggest word to focus in on is, "project." IMO he was meant to sit on the bench for a few years until he was mature/able to somewhat read a defense . He was thrown into the mix entirely too early by a shitty HC, on a "win-now" team who was coaching for his job. Not the best recipe for success.

Regardless, he helped the Vikings go 10-6, and went 3-1 in his last four starts compiling impressive stats and looking more and more confident... TJ had helped lead the Vikings to an NFC North title.

Conversely, Favre's shoulder had fell off in NY, and he cost his team via hubris a chance at the playoffs.

Now, back to TJ, his first playoff game wasn't the greatest, but it was only his first time! Not to mention he threw the ball an ungodly number of times (35) when he has a ridiculous running o-line, AP and Chester Taylor.

Anytime TJ throws the ball 35 times IMO thats more of the fault of the offensive scheme/playcalling/gameplanning.

Lastly, as soon as it appears that TJ is, "starting to get it..." even if just a little bit, the team talks about cutting/trading him for a low pick... we all forget that TJ was/is a project who was thrown into the fire too soon.

No offense to Vikings fans, as you usually can't help being a fan of your team (born there, or whatever other circumstances), but there is a reason Vikings teams have been relatively unsuccessful...

Yes Favre will sell jerseys, help sell more season tickets, and make a shitton of money for the Vikings brass... but is a one year lease on a half broken arm really worth it when you just watched him tank a very similar team into the ground just one year ago?

By all accounts the Jets were a win-now team whose coach was coaching for his job, great o-line, good at stopping the run, TJ is no slouch... ###### this is deja vu.
