Cowboys and Romo haters, please own it.

Recommended Posts

tonight, dallas beat the best team in the NFC, and possibly the best team in the NFL...

...in december.

this was a team effort. the defense finally stepped up in crunch time. austin stepped up, barber stepped up, and romo's performance tonight results in a december overage of 300+ yards, 2 TDs, and a 110+ QB rating per game. the cowboys were absolutely dominant until what the romo haters refer to as "trash time" (see the anti-cowboy rhetoric after the dallas-NYG game for comparison).

the game wasn't perfect, but no game is. the cowboys still have a long, long way to go to prove the doubters wrong. but tonight they crushed the NFC super bowl favorite when NO ONE outside of dallas gave them a chance.

i'm not going to mention any names--you guys know who you are. we've listened to your heckling for 4 years now.

it's time to stand up and tip your hat to the cowboys...for one game.

who's gonna man up and show some well-earned respect?

Nobody cares. IF the cowboys do in fact make the playoffs they aren't going anywhere.

You really don't know. No one knows.

And, I care. I want to see the Cowboys haters take their medicine. That includes you. AMERICA'S TEAM is the Dallas Cowboys and they just defeated the previously undefeated New Orleans Saints In week 15 of the NFL Season, December 19th, 2009. That has to be difficult for you and the rest of the Cowboys haters to cope with.

I don't like the Cowboys one bit, but they kicked the Saints ass last night. I'm not a Romo hater though. I always thought he was a good QB. The Cowboys seem like they are indicative of the NFC East, could play great one week and lose a game they should have won the next. Didn't really surprise me that they beat NO. I was hoping like hell they wouldn't but it's not a huge surprise. I also wouldn't be surprised if they lose to the Redskins this coming week. Just the way the NFC East goes.

I'll tell you one thing, that week #17 match-up against the Eagles is HUGE!

Really nice win for the Cowboys.

Like I said in the Romo/December thread, that was a big win the Dallas and Romo. Unfortuantely, I didn't get to see a single play of it due to having to DJ a sweet 16 party, but I was checking the score on my iphone.

I saw it was 24-3, then 24-10, then 24-17. I thought for sure Romo was in the middle of one of his Decemeber collapses, but they were able to hang on.

Big win for Dallas, but bigger win for Romo.

Huge win for the Arizonas, Philadelphias, and Green Bays of the league. A month or so ago, it looked like it was a two-team race in the NFC. With Minnesota looking bad against Arizona andd the Saints losing at home last night, this is going to be a wide open NFC come layoff time.

As far as 'owning it'.....yes, I'll admit that this was a huge step for Romo.

A huge win for Romo, but these Saints are starting to lose momentum. Didn't the falcons without their qb and rb come close to beating them last week? This Saints team isn't that dominant like they were the 1st half of the season. But Romo looks like he has made an effort to silence the critics and was awesome last night. Defense made big plays when they needed to. The best the Cowboys have looked in a must win game since Aikmen. Hopefully they saved their coach's job. :headbanger:

Ummm, I still hate the Cowgirls...Doesn't mean I have to respect them because they beat my Saints! Actaully I am glad the Saints lost, I think it will give them motivation to play even better. I also have Adrain Peterson so I gives the Vikes some hope at homefield advantage, so the will run "ALL DAY" all day!

But it doesn't change the fact that Dallas is a mid-level team at best! So you suck for trying to shove your team down peoples throuts, and Dallas sucks big donkey ######!

You should be excited about that game. Your Vikings are looking like the NFC favorites now.

The Saints barely beat the Falcons and Redskins and now lost at home to a very average Dallas team.

Yes, you're right. A big step for Romo.

This year, he's only lost 2 for every win in December. Definitely an improvement over 1 of every 4.

Funny how Romo gets so much attention.

This will only be his 3rd season as the starter, and was undrafted coming out of college, yet everyone expects Romo to play at or above Peyton Manning level....lol

When you put it all into perspective, Im overjoyed to have Romo leading the Cowboys forward, and look forward to seeing him add to the trophy case as he actually begins to play into his prime.... that hasnt even happened yet.

So the haters will just have to continue to hate even more and more, as Romo gets better and better.

He'll be 30 on his next birthday. He's not that young.

Elway played until he was 42, Peyton Manning will be 34 in a couple months, how old is Warner?

QB age is far less a degenerating factor than say compared to a RB. QBs actually play will into their late 30s if given a good OL and running game.

Thats a weak statement coming from you,,,, I would expect better considering your rep.

I'm not suggesting that he's old and doesn't have a lot of years left, but you made it sound like he's practically a rookie. At 30, you are at your prime. You may learn how to read coverages better, but your body is not as good in it's 30s as it was in its 20s. For a mobile quarterback like Romo, that's a big deal.

Some QBs (PManning is great example) can hold onto their prime for quite a few years. But he's a pocket passer who relies on his brain. The more athletic quarterbacks usually don't remain top-shelf well into their 30's (Steve Young being one exception I can think of).

Face it...the "haters" have been right about Romo and the Cowboys...but it also was never just about December...but about late season and playoffs. And he still has not won a playoff game.

Your coach still blows...and the last decade plus have stunk for Big D.

But the biggest thing is...while the last decade has been a failure...you focking Cowobys fans have still acted like they are something special. That is why there is so much hate. You all still act like you have won Super Bowls recently and that everything is so great down there.

If you all would just STFU...there would be very little of this so-called hate.

How about win a playoff game, then these Cowgirls might get some respect. Until then, pipe down.

They have won plenty, you might want to check out their trophy case.... :pointstosky:

Im not suggesting that hes practically a rookie at all, but even at 30, he has only been exposed to the rigors of the game for not even 3 full seasons.

He has alot of game time left, thats all Im saying. If the Cowboys are prudent enough to keep the OL at high pedigree over the next decade, I could see Romo having a very long carreer.

Here's another tidbit about Romo not throwing interceptions: This was has ninth game this season with at least 240 yards passing and no interceptions. That moved him past Peyton Manning (2008) into second place all-time. The only quarterback with more games in a single season with at least 240 yards and no interceptions was Tom Brady in 2007, when he had 10.

Romo has two games left to match or pass Brady's mark.

I guess when it's all said and done, that'll be just as good as a playoff win or two.

Funniest eagles pic i ever saw was the Philly trophy case with a can of campbells chunky soup in it. so true. horrible franchise. cobwebs and chunky soup in their trophy case.

The Saints outplayed the Cowboys the final 3 quarters of the game. The key, of course, was NO being -3 in turnovers, the only reason they lost. While Dallas barely held on for a nail biting win, the Saints do not impress me as a complete team and seem to have to come from behind with regularity lately. The Saints have recently dodged bullets vs Washington and Atlanta with a backup QB. Congrats, Dallas. You are a little bit better than Washington.

Dallas plays every game undisciplined and unprepared. While it is true that you can win with the epitome of a retard as your head coach i.e. Barry Switzer, it is rare for lightning to strike twice in the same franchise. Wade Philips is a water head.

I saw nothing from Dallas that tells me they are anything but a mediocre team that got off to a good start and the Saints ran out of time in completing their comeback. Tomy Romo is not good enough to finish off a team in the late stages, and they have no FG kicker.

get off the drugs. Dallas outplayed the saints for the first three quarters. did you watch the game?

not good enough? Romo has not tossed an int in four games and he has above 100 qb rating in his three december games so far. he just beat the legues best team. give me a freakin break.

what i hate most about these threads is the silence that proceeds them or follows them when Dallas loses.

All year you guys wait until they win a well played game and then come here to call out all the Romo haters as if 1 game makes a career.

Romo played well and the Cowboys won a big game. In december no less. Lets see what they do, and what Romo does the rest of the way. Still 2 more games to play plus the playoffs.

Well I'm right here and I'm saying this was a good win and a step in the right direction but lets not start threads like this, pretending the concerns surrounding Tony are not legit.

Please own it? what would any Romo hater have to own? His playoff record is still 0-for and his career record in December still blows. Last night was the biggest win of his career. Hopefully it starts a trend, but we still need to see a trend before any Romo hater has to eat much of anything.
