sirensong 111 Posted December 31, 2009 So how is it that both teams are even on special teams, even though the Eagles have Jackson returning punts? He's the pro bowl return guy for the NFC. How can that not be an advantage? Additionally, Dallas in on their second placekicker of the season. Folk got cut in favor of a guy who couldn't kick in Washington. The Eagles have David Akers, whom I believe was voted to the Pro Bowl. Care to rethink that one again? good points, but some things to consider... 1. jackson is good--there's no arguing it. he has the same # of TDs as crayton. both averages are impressive: 16.0 and 12.9. jackson has 7 x 20+yd returns, and crayton has 6. so the eagles hold an advantage in the return game, but either team is capable of taking it to the house. 2. OTOH, dallas has a distinct edge in punting. they have arguably the best punter in football, and the guy specializes in neutralizing returners. mcbriar has a significantly better gross avg, net avg, inside 20 rate, and FC rate. in the last matchup, jackson only managed to return 1 out of 5 punts. so minus the hype, i think the punting game is pretty even. you are dead right about the kicking game, though, and that's enough to give a total sepcial teams edge to the eagles. I can live with that reasoning. Sav Rocca sucks azz. The most inconsistent punter in the NFL. The one thing that tends to negate the Eagle special teams advantage is penalties. 49ers_suck 0 Posted December 31, 2009 Jenkins and Newman, I don't think they're very good cover corners. At all. Jenkins has been very good actually, and Newman is hit or miss Dallas will need to double Jackson. If they don't, they lose. Now where I see the Eagles attacking the Cowboys is in their intermediate routes. With the concern for Jackson, I see he and Maclin running alot of deeper routes. At least one of the safeties will be covering over on Jackson. That should leave the 15-20 yard intermediate routes open for guys like Avant and Celek. Dallas has very mediocre LBs in coverage. I would look for Weaver/McCoy/Westbrook running alot of routes out of the backfield. If the Eagles can protect McNabb, I see Reid spreading out the Dallas defense vertically, giving McNabb plenty of underneath space to pick apart the Dallas defense. IF they can protect mcnabb. Dallas has been very good at hurrassing QB's lately. the quick hitters will be there, but i see him eating turf when he tries to go deep. i think you're underestimating their defense. although, mcnabb is a crafty vet. we shall see on sunday. Dooshpipe made a bunch of bets last year about the Cowboys/Eagles game and promised to leave the sight (not sure if it was forever or for a month). Anyway, we all know the ass-kicking the Eagles gave them that day, and assmeg never left. Fock him. he's a poosie and a welcher. Don't bet with him. And only talk to him if you're making fun of him or pointing out how stupid he is.

McDermott: "What can I say, he's a very good qb. We seen that in our last meeting" Isn't it nice seeing those dirty birds scared of Romo the Jedi lol. NewbieJr 541 Posted January 1, 2010 It's true.Romo has been able to escape a playoff win his whole life. I'm impressed. Considering one of those years he was surrounded by 12 Pro Bowlers and has constantly underachieved despite having an owner who supplies him with a great supporting cast, his greatest escape has been from the waiver wire. GhostofMeanMachine99 1 Posted January 1, 2010 good to see you posting again. i haven't seen much of you this season, but maybe we're just active in different threads. Haven't really had much to discuss. DB's like "Pimpdaddy Blue Star Moron" just make things boring, because they always say the same things with no thoughtful insight. I said it at the very beginning of the season, that Dallas was the team that scared me the most in the division. I also said IMO, the Eagles wouldn't go very far with this defense. To a certain extent, they have proved me wrong, thankfully, however I don't think there are many fans out there predicting Super Bowl. If they don't turn you over, they are a very beatable team. Kilroy seems to disagree, but he also wants TO back in town and thinks Kevin Kolb is a better QB than McNabb. Figure that one out... But that offense can really light it up in a hurry, as long as there is balance to the playcalling. My fear with the return of Westbrook, is a return to old habits (which were bad habits). Looking forward to an exciting game on Sunday, and an interesting playoffs. Hopefully the Eagles can win, so that assures me of at least one home playoff game to go to. Blue_Star_Wrecking_Crew 0 Posted January 2, 2010 dallas fans: Let Eagles, Skins, Giants fans post all they want. Just don't respond to them. I think that would be hilarious and would give them no reason to post again. It would be perfect to just ignore their post like it never happened. You might get the urge to set them straight, but you can't because there is no way they're going to be quiet. They just want you to get all upset and can't wait to respond to your angry post. Just ignore them when they start a new discussion or try to comment on an existing topic. I doubt enough people will follow this advice but it would be awesome if you guys did. Ignore all opposing fan's post!

NewbieJr 541 Posted January 3, 2010 Pro Bowler Jay Ratliff will feast on the Eagles center who is getting his first start at the position. This is my biggest concern. The timing of Jackson's injury couldn't have come at a better time for Dallas. Ratliff is a handful for a starting center, let alone a first-time starter.
