NorthernVike 2,087 Posted August 17, 2010 The question is, where did these smelly bastards get the jack to build this mosque on such pricey real estate?
Gepetto 1,385 Posted August 17, 2010 I nominate you for Pvssy of the Year. Jesus, man, grow a focking sac! How the fock am I anything like that? I'm not bothered by at all. I'm fighting back to get him to shut up. His little interjections when he's already previously responded to my earlier posts is not helping the discussion. Also, go fock yourself you stupid liberal fool.

MDC 7,561 Posted August 17, 2010 You say you're wrong in one sentence and then in the next sentence say it's just another example of a phony "controversy". This is not a phony controversy. The majority of people are against it. Stop making stuff up to support your views. Sorry, let me clarify: People who care about this non-issue are focking rubes and they're getting played like a fiddle by the media and the political parties. Happy? MDC 7,561 Posted August 17, 2010 Fixed! Sorry man, I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who obsess over these stupid wedge issues when there are much bigger fish to fry, especially when the overwhelming majority of those people don't even live in NY. It seems pretty dumb to me. I guess that means I'm a snob. I can live with that.

Me_2006 14 Posted August 17, 2010 Fine, but you're naive about the Muslim agenda in the United States. To have the same rights as every other religion? I'm sorry that scares you, but that's what this country is about. That hasn't changed since 9/11. Radicals and extremists of all kinds don't represent the masses, and you can't legislate as such. If 9/11 had been just another fall day, there would be no problem with this. You can't change the laws for Muslims in this country because 10 guys attacked New York City. You can't change the laws for Muslims in this country because 10 guys attacked New York City. To play the other side, Muslims beliefs are not always legal in the United States. In their holy book, they demand dismemberment for stealing, killing anybody that is not Muslim, stoning women for being raped. That stuff isn't going to fly in America in the courts. Or will it? Muslims killed a dozen aid workers recently because they thought they were Christians. How will that play in the United States, other than ignoring the event completely. It's nice and all to be tolerant of different religions, and as a libertarian I'm OK with that, but you have to pay attention to Europe and how Muslims are trying to get governments to recognize Muslims demands to follow their own laws apart from the country in question. It's getting scary how much buckling foreign nations are doing for fear of the Muslim population uprising.
redtodd 7 Posted August 17, 2010 Whether you agree with allowing them to build the Mosque or not, can we all agree on that it is a pretty "d!ck move" on the Muslim's part? They had to know that it would create a stir.

Turducken 0 Posted August 17, 2010 Can you clarify how Christianity relates to the discussion? I'll treat this as a serious question. You act like Islam is the only religion that is off limits to everyone, and every other religion is constantly being attacked. I don't see it.

DanXIII 8 Posted August 17, 2010 What's really fascinating to me in this discussion is the fact that, apparently, the right has picked up the banner of political correctness. Obama has chosen the path of being "Politically Incorrect" by pointing out that it is well within their constitutional rights to build the facility. Now the right is trying to be "Politically Correct" in not wanting it there. I wonder if they are looking for an activist judge to intercede? It's a bizzaro world in which we live. Pretty soon we are going to be hearing the right say we shouldn't be over there in that war... oh, wait Also, it's a community and cultural center. It's not a mosque. Just because the media keeps feeding us that lie over and over doesn't make it true.

They had to know that it would create a stir. Honestly I'm not sure I can even go that far. It's been almost 10 years. And there's precedent for religious buildings in the area already. Take a gander at the Christianity, Jewish, and Islamic buildings already in the immediate area around the WTC: (The Green Arrow was the proposed site of Muslim building - Ignore the Pink Bubble above the arrow - The Red Dots are also buildings related to the religion) Christian Buildings: http://img442.imageshack.us/f/churchq.jpg/ Jewish Buildings: http://img9.imageshack.us/f/synagogue.jpg/ Islamic Buildings: http://img186.imageshack.us/f/mosque.jpg/ You can't call it a "d!ck move" for being controversial in the minds of those who think it's the War on Islam instead of the War on Terror.
