There are a lot of good songs here but overall this list is pretty lame.

No early punk / thrash / hardcore like Anthrax, Stormtroopers of Death, MOD, DRI. No newer bands like Lamb of God or Meshuggah - the newest tracks on here are almost 20 years old. Sepultura didn't place a single track on this list but Alice in Chains (not a metal band) did?

:dunno:

I agree about the list being a little dated, but I have no problems with "Them Bones" being on here. Always been my favorite AIC song.

My favorite song holding down the #1 spot. Solid. :pointstosky:

That's really the only reason I posted it.

Not goin to address what is missing and I am a Judas Priest fan but Painkiller is not a top 16 metal song of all time. I dont even think it is a top 16 Priest song :music_guitarred:

Rage against the Machine and Alice in Chains are considered metal?

Paranoid was the original metal song and yet it is 7th. If youre a fan of Maiden , Sabbath , and Metallica this is a good list I guess. How ACDC is so low I have no clue.

Interesting, I was thinking that those three are my favorite metal bands, and along with AC/DC about the only ones I like, so I thought the list was greta.

I would not put Crazy Train nearly that high, but we can always find nits in such lists.

Def Leppard on that list? They are glam rock...

I would not consider them, Van Halen, or KISS heavy metal, and I am a big fan of both VH and KISS...

I like those bands as well. Just saying the rating was a little off. If youre going to include ACDC how could you put their songs so low. Paranoid was the first true metal hit song maybe ever and it's 7th and the 3rd Sabbath song rated.

I think Alice in Chains should have more songs and be higher on this list. They have some really great music.
