So, what you're saying is that all the skeletal remains of apes to neanderthals to cro-magnons to man are actual artifacts, but have no connection? And that Dama and Eve really just appeared, like POOF! Is that what you're saying? And it makes me conceited because I happen to believe the well educated scientists who have show more and more examples of evolution every year? Evolution is fact. It doesn't make me conceited to say that. But it makes you naive and a little unintelligent to pretend it's not.

I'm not saying Darwin is wrong dummy. I'm saying that those whom use evolution to try and make a sweeping conclusion that evolution disproves the existence of a "God" are just as clueless as those who blindly follow a church and turn their nose up at science. HTH

Um.... yes.

You believe man evolved from apes? That's kinda dumb. :(

And who might they be?

I do believe in the theory of evolution. It is not a fact but it is a theory that has been tested and passed muster over many years. The Christian view of creationism has not passed Scientific muster and I don't think it should be taught in science class like a scientific theory should be. I think you should still be able to believe in God and believe in evolution. You just have to reinterpret the words of the bible. You know the old one day in God's time may have meant thousands of years, etc.,

I don't happen to believe in God myself but I don't care if someone else does as long as they don't try and indoctrinate people who don't.

So, the vast majority of America disagrees with your OP.

Mmmmmkay.

Has Edjr made a claim about the vast majority???

I must be missing something. Two different races of sharks mixed and it's evolution? Did I miss something or did Sharks just finally desegregate? Bunch of shark racists I tell you!

They are looking for a better collective bargaining agreement.

Every weekend I watch the NFL Today pre-game show. I see Shannon Sharpe and I get the feeling evolution is real.

For your sake I hope evolution is real so that someday you might become as advanced as ol' Shannon.

You can believe in both evolution and creation but to believe man evolved from apes is just stupid.

Excluding of course, Ewing, Michelle O & that lady from "What's Happenin"

So, you don't believe in God. Pick a side of the fence and stay there, Bubbles.

Found any yet ?

So the "black" tip sharks are banging and impregnating everything.

And white sharks are king.

All is well in the Shark World, nothing to see here.

I agree with you, but I don't know who you're talking about that mentioned anything about it disproving God's existence. The holy rollers are the ones who get up-in-arms when you mention eveolution, because they assume it puts an end to the whole God-thing. But if there's a God and he controls everything, why can't he be the one controlling evolution?

Dude... I'm not getting into semantics here. When he asked the question I didn't know if he was trying to be cute and trip me up or he was just using the easy way to ask if I believed that humans were a product of evolution. I think I've proven that I know a little bit about this subject. Hence the

I guess you are ignorant of the Intelligent Design concept.

Who are these 'holy rollers' you claim are 'up in arms'?

Oh, still haven't heard you say if you believe in God or not........

What claim? Did I say he made a claim about the "vast majority"? Nope. Just pointed out the fact his own link shows the vast majority of Americans disagree with his OP.

Read through that a few times and let in sink in to your puddin' head before you humiliate yourself again.

I guess I'm missing something, but how is this evolution? It sounds like two different black-tip sharks did the "shark dance" and the resulting baby sharks could live in colder waters. I thought evolution was when a species adapted to its environment all on its own. :dunno:

interesting, always presumed it was more generational, mating type activities that produce offspring with diversive traits, the successful onces allow for more breeding and the cycle continues...

You think an elephant grew its trunk like bamboo?

Using evolutionary theory as a justification to debunk intelligent design is the commie cutesy BS...

Evolution and intelligent design aren't mutually exclusive...

That's great and all, if there were any scientific evidence whatsoever to back up the concept of ID.

Also... I have no idea why the theory of evolution invalidates the concept of God. And it's not from the scientists that I typically hear this. It's from the religious wingnuts who are terrified that the bible may be proven wrong and they freak out whenever they hear the D word. I got this reaction from some wingnut evangelical aunt I have when I casually mentioned I went to see the Darwin exhibit at the Franklin Institute years ago. She actually got pissed and offended when I mentioned his name and said something like "You know there's a reason they can't find the missing link" and huffed off and stormed away. Never had a reaction like that from a scientist who was in the presence of the G word. :dunno:

I had a priest tell me when I was a teenager and I asked him about evolution that the old testament should not be taken verbatim and look at it more as moral explanation for things. :dunno:

While KSB, philly, phurfur, jk, and Dank are doing a fine job at proving the point that evolution apparently doesn't touch everybody equally, what this thread really needs is a big ol' dose of stupid from Mensa to really get kicked into high gear.

Of course they aren't. The problem is that ID is just creationism rebranded and is not based on science, as PROVEN in the Dover case. I don't think a lot of people have a problem with creationism. What people have a problem with is the notion of creationism as science.

I went to a catholic high school and had a priest try and explain a lot of stiff in the bible as naturally happening. Like the parting of the red sea was actually the reed sea and that it was dry at the time Moses led his people. It was interesting stuff but I wasn't buying it. Kind of like a kid caught lying and backtracking with his story. I mean I saw the movie with charlton Heston, don't try telling me it was just a muddy crossing and the chariots wheels got stuck.

Thats like asking a rearview mirror to show whats ahead in the road... Science deals with measuring the observable environment... It can't measure before measuring existed... its like dividing by zero

The whole notion that science being a foundation of ID (or backing it up) is nonsense... Its absurd in logic...

The problem is that ID is just creationism rebranded

I disagree with this statement. ID is a notion of unmoved mover... It doesn't necessarily have to encompass any or all of traditional religious belief... Simply an understanding that if time/space/earth exists there must have been a beginning of that existance. Something was set in motion at some point.

Thats basic logic and occams razor.

The conversation gets returted when people say ID = redneckhillbillybiblebelterholyrolleretcetcetc...

Intelligent design is just another term for creationism. It was given a new name so it could be disguised as science and taught in public schools. I agree with you that in no shape or form does it resemble science and it should never be taught as such.

Go watch the video I posted a link to in the Mensa evolution thread. It was PROVEN that the ID movement is simply creationism rebranded. They literally did a search and replace in books on creationism and replaced the word creationism with Intelligent Design. This was PROVEN. You may personally think differently but the whole ID movement is simply creationism renamed. That's not debatable.
