Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted March 25, 2013 does Tiger's recent showing mean he's railing a bunch of whores on the side, again? I am sure that the hostesses at every Perkins in the greater Augusta area are getting their KY ready.

I would of tho0ught he learned by now after giving up so much money to blondie. Thats said you know he is nailing every pron star he can right now. Cruzer 1,995 Posted March 28, 2013 Maybe somebody needs to hook Rory up with some ho's. World #2 just posted a smooth +3, 39 on the front.
cbfalcon 825 Posted March 29, 2013 Hank Kuene apparently misses the cut because he signed for a 3 when he made a 2 on a hole. It's 2013. We don't need to rely on pencil and paper anymore for the love of fock. Also, Rory made the cut on the number. Then he committed to play next week. Good move for the kid. It's an indicator that even if his game isn't sharp, his mind is right and he is focused on Augusta.

Cruzer 1,995 Posted April 1, 2013 Unfortrunately for Rory nobody cares what he did 1, 2, or 3 years back. Nobody cares he ran away from the field at Congressional or at Kiawah Island bcoz in the back of their minds he didn't do it againsst Tiger at his best. Now that TW has reclaimed his #1 ranking and now that he is again king of the mountain - they want to see the rivalry kick into full gear. In a way, we are getting to see and experience what it must of been like back in the early 60's - Jack and Arnie. New personal golf love and 137th solution to my putting woes - Odyssey White Ice 2-Ball putter. Picked on up this past week and put it in play this weekend. Absolutely love it, rolls so much better and just lends a confidence I hadn't had in a while.
cbfalcon 825 Posted April 1, 2013 I played a silly round this weekend. Managed an 88. It included 10 pars....but three triples. I literally had 6 shots that I chunked and essentially then just had the identical shot again. Eliminating those shots is the big difference between a good and bad golfer, as an 82 type round would have been considered really solid by me.

Yea we had a few fatty's over the weekend too - especially after the heavy rains we had Saturday night. I'm not complaining though, was a great rain, and we sure and hell needed it........... I hit only 7 greens Saturday, managed to post 73 still. Short game was on full throttle and really bailed my ass out.

rallo 136 Posted April 5, 2013 range opened yesterday, and the course opens this saturday. I'm on call, but i still managed to get a bucket in. Everything was on point yesterday except for the driver, i was spraying that thing everywhere... oh well. Today will be the true test as it is a little gusty, definitely want to see how the irons behave during knock down shots. i know, i know WHO CARES. Any masters predictions? Is tiger set for yet another? Will someone like snedeker sneek in? Finally the year for westwood? If i were in Vegas i would lay some money down on oosthuizen (sp?) myself. The 2-ball is a nice putter, a bit too heavy for me and I tend not to like insert putters but a lot of people swear by them Oh yea, I've used one for a few holes. Buddy of mine bought one and I gave it a whirl. He disliked it so much he went back to his original Studio Select Scotty Cameron.... I actually prefer a heavy headed putter - I actually bought and replaced the two 15 gram weights I had in my Scotty Cam Newport 2 Studo Select and replaced them with two 40 gram weights. The new 2-ball has a nice heavy feel to it, the insert roll smooth and pure w/out any kind of clanky feedback.
WhiteWonder 2,734 Posted April 5, 2013 for the longest time i used a ping anser 2. putted well enough with it but i just hated how light it was. about 3 years ago i switched to a studio select newport 2.5 (had some pro shop credit) left it standard with the two 10g weights and i love it. perfect weight for me. Im also not big on insert putters. got to try plenty of them in my store / take some out on the course but I just prefer a milled face or nothing at all. cbfalcon 825 Posted April 6, 2013 I used an old Ping Cushin from 1996-2010. Never messed with it. Then I screwed around with a Scotty Cameron one day and became convinced my putter technology was too outdated and I wasn't getting consistent speed. I must have spent about 10 hours putting at Golfsmith and Golf Galexy over the course of 2 months. I ended up with an Oddyssey White Hot Tour #2. 33 inches, 355 grams Head Weight. Of every golf club I've ever purchased, this is the one I'm happiest and felt best about. It was based completely on performance. For instance, I wanted the 32 inch because I believe in having my eyes directly over the ball and a shorter shaft helped with that. But in all that testing, I just wasn't getting the result with a shorter shaft. I wasnt even looking for an Odyssey. In fact, I wanted another Ping. But again, this putter got results. It doesnt even allow me to place my eyes directly above the ball like i said. But again, i kept getting results. The weight felt perfect, my speed was perfect, and the ball kept following the line I aimed at. Sounds simple, but there were a lot of putters that simply didnt allow me to hit the ball straight. It was strange. Anyway. Sorry about the rambling. The point is I absolutely love my Odyssey White Hot Tour #2. I would be shocked if I changed putters within the next 10 years. BunnysBastatrds 2,438 Posted April 6, 2013 I played a scramble today with some young guys. One of them could and did hit greens from 340 out. Shot a 13 under and lost because they couldn't putt. These young guns were pounding the ball after I was hitting 300 yard drives and we were to close to the green. Sick at how far they were crushing it. My 80 yard 58 degree saved the day. This is what golf has become. Bomb drivers over every obstacle and hope for touch around the greens? The game isn't what it used to be.

cbfalcon 825 Posted April 7, 2013 Lame golf topic based on the last couple posts, but how far do you guys hit your driver? Assuming no wind and no slope obviously. As most golfers shooting in the 80's, I'm not super consistent. And distance has never been my thing anyway. Not wasting shots and being solid around the greens has always been my strength. On average I am looking at 240ish yards off the tee. I've gotten into solid grooves in which I was hitting the ball 270-280 on a given day. But I'm just not all that consistent with the driver. Hell, if I only hit it 210 yards, I'm usually not upset as long as its in the fairway.

Maybe if thats all i did but no way i will ever hit it that far with how little i golf. Side note, its supposed to be 60 and sunday on saturday. Perfect golfing weather. I have hit over 300 when i catch it and have a nice draw. I full admit I don't have a high enough swing speed, given my athletic frame. My swing speed is between 90 and 95 mph with every club. But I think better golfers have the confidence to swing the driver a bit harder. Whereas, while my speed is pretty consistent, I feel like I can give the short irons something extra when needed, yet lack the same confidence with the 1 wood. I had a nice baby draw grooved 2 summers ago, and was hitting hit a consistent 260-270. But since tinkered with the swing, then I've lost that draw, and seem to be stuck in the aforementioned 240 range most days.

I am honestly surprused my club speed allows me to get to 300 when i hit it just right. Not sure what the speed actually is but for my size i have good power. I honestly feel i should be a better golfer than i am. I know what im supposed to do and realize when i am off usually. I can have multiple beautiful shots in a round but seem to completely lose it on entire holes.

So I am on the low side with strength, but I have the lean muscle that lends itself to an aggressive swing. But my entire game tends to be about control. I actually don't feel like I ever let it all hang out with any club at any time. I'm all about controlling the ball flight, etc. But it seems I could benefit from learning to let it all hang out (assuming I can maintain my lines) with the driver especially. It's as if I've never in my entire life really felt like I've hit the driver as far as I am capable, even once.
cbfalcon 825 Posted April 7, 2013 Other clubs are probably a better measuring stick since we should actually have our iron distances dialed in. But they aren't as fun to talk about. Driver - 240+ yards. 5 Iron - 175 yards 7 Iron - 150 yards 9 iron - 125 yards PW - 110 yards. I'm not a long hitter by any means. But I've broken 80 several times. So lay off biatches. WhiteWonder 2,734 Posted April 7, 2013 just got back from the range. first time of the year. had set my rocketballz to the lower trajectory so it plays more like an 8* didn't like it. hitting it way too low. I was able to hit some nice balls but by and large I had to put more effort into it. The low shots were still going straight and rolling out to about 270-280. Had a couple roll out to 300. So i guess it serves its purpose if im playing in wind. will be going back to the standard setup. also first time hitting my new gap wedge. seemed to go about 105-110 based off today my 9 is sitting around 130 and my 7 around 155. only other club i hit was my 3hybrid and that usually goes about

He has a nice swing, but he may be the last guy I would trust in a pressure situation. My feeling on him is it would shock me if he wins 2 majors in his career. I'll always leave room for a guy to fall into 1 major, but Mahan isn't even on my radar when I think of Major Championship contenders. Obviously Tiger is the heavy favorite, and I expect him to win. But Rory was dismissed too quickly by you in that last text, and I'm not going to stand for it! Or maybe I will.

But Rory was dismissed too quickly by you in that last text, and I'm not going to stand for it! Or maybe I will. Rory's game has been terrible (for his stature) this year. I'm not yet willing to say he has turned the corner based on this week. Just last week he looked average again. I don't have anything against him, i didn't want to see him lose world #1 to Tigger. I'm not sure Hunter will ever win 2 majors. A lot of really good players wont ever win 2 majors. But you can't come to every major and say Tiger, Rory and Phil. thats too easy. If I may, what makes you say Hunter Mahan is the last guy you would trust in a pressure situation? Is it simply based on that Ryder Cup? What if someone said they liked Lee Westwood this week? Would you say the same thing? Guy hasn't really been clutch in the majors. what about Rory's own pressure situation at Augusta? For what its worth Hunter does have multiple WGC titles to his credit (one of which was a head to head defeat of Sir Rory) and I think he has a top 10 finish in every major. As for the Masters I know hes missed a cut or two but I think he might also have 2 or 3 top 10's in the last 5 years.
cbfalcon 825 Posted April 8, 2013 It's mostly a gut feeling on Mahan. Admittedly, I don't like him. I think he is a dooshbag. So you can probably throw out everything I say. But for the top 50 players in the world, I don't think a WGC tournament causes anyone's ###### to tighten up like Majors do. And while top 10's are nice, I dont remember Mahan ever even contending on a Sunday in a Major. Has he ever contended? For someone approaching double digit wins and a guy that has been ranked in the top 5 in the world, it's amazing to me that I don't remember him in the mix even once. I see he has missed the cut in 9 of his last 20 Majors also. 45%, ugh. It just feels like he plays poorly on that stage. Now Westwood for example? He has contended tons of times. And I think he is the type that if he could get that first one, he may go on a short little Paddy type run where he could win 2-3 in the next couple of years. All that being said, you are correct that its boring to just call for Tiger, Rory, and Phil. It's too easy. And it's something I am guilty of. So I'll give you that one.
