Baker Boy 1,700 Posted January 29, 2015 Pentagon officials were so concerned with then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's push in 2011 to back Libyan rebels against Muammar Qaddafi that they opened their own back-channels with Qaddafi to try and prevent the U.S. from entering the civil war, according to a report that cited newly uncovered audio tapes. According to a report Thursday in The Washington Times, Pentagon officials used an intelligence "liaison" to communicate with Qaddafi's son and a top Libyan leader outside of White House or State Department knowledge. A senior Democratic congressman also reportedly was involved

Voltaire 5,317 Posted February 1, 2015 Clearly you have not checked Congress. It could be worse. JFK was 1963. The best you can say is that the BOA scerwed the pooch. That may be all we can ever say with confidence. J Not really. I mean, they put a consulate in an unstable, violent Islamic toilet and didn't protect it properly so deserve to take blame for that. I think we can all agree. These people want to kill us that's how they are. In this case security failed and they succeeded. Learn from it. But that's where it ends. When you start on the lala land of fake anger about 'it took them three weeks to determine it was a terror attack' then expect everybody to be pretend this delay is a big deal and a real scandal, OMG shut the fock up. It's bad enough that four people died, don't make it a circus for political reasons. And this next part isn't directed at you, you weren't here so don't take it personally, but here in this very thread, don't skip to the end - take a look at page one. The Obummer-hating assclowns in this forum were posting dancing bananas and all over the thread celebrating the death of the useful gay ambassador as a political weapon to be used against Obummer. It was the most disgusting thing I've seen online - a reading equivalent to tubgirl and lemonparty and joneo link images.

MDC 7,470 Posted February 2, 2015 A lot of people died in Iraq, yet you use it to bludgeon Bush for political reasons on a daily basis ya ginormous fukking hypocrite. I think his point is that Voltaire is legitimately upset at the waste of life and resources in Iraq due to the Bush admin lying us into that nation building quagmire. On the other hand, you and others are only fake outraged over Benghazi because it gives you another phony Obummer scandal to whine about. I can't really speak for Voltaire but I think that's what he's saying.
Voltaire 5,317 Posted February 2, 2015 A lot of people died in Iraq, yet you use it to bludgeon Bush for political reasons on a daily basis ya ginormous fukking hypocrite. I wasn't celebrating their demise with happy emoticons. Nor was I doing it after the fact, I was doing it while they were in Iraq getting blown up pointlessly and in vain, more and more every day. And I was merciless to get them home, in large part, because I had recently been one of them myself just a few years prior and still had a lot of friends in the Army. For MDC - Not quite. I opposed the Iraq war from the very get go before anybody knew the WMD story was fabricated. At the time, I also thought it was true but not a compelling reason to invade. The WMD story turning out to be false is just convenient cover and great excuse for people that had agreed with the Bushtard that the invasion made sense, then later wanted to backtrack when the war became unpopular. I never needed to change my mind, I had been right about Iraq at the very beginning and all along. Everybody was upset about Benghazi at first. Or so it seemed anyways. We put a consulate in a violent Islamic toilet and the terrorists successfully blew it up. So any investigation into what went wrong and why and how to prevent this from happening again was warranted. But the clowns running the investigation didn't seem at all interested in that. They focused on fluff. They were obsessed with trivia about how slowly the CIA took before concluding it was a terrorist attack because -they really didn't give a sh*t about the ambassador, one less f@ggot in the world- just how useful his death was and could be pinned on Obummer. And so they celebrate his death with happy emoticons.

Voltaire 5,317 Posted February 3, 2015 Yep. The State Dept is delaying and obstructing the investigation.......and the libtard mouthbreathers whine and cry about he investigations taking so long.....and blame Republicans. That was for the last round of investigations. The House Republicans did finally conclude their witch hunt and issued their report last summer or so and found no wrongdoing by Team Obummer. But nobody really gave a sh*t. The whole point of the investigation in the first place was to blow smoke and pretend something was there that was worth investigating. So the decision was made to scrap that report and start the witch hunt all over again.
HenryHill9323 65 Posted February 3, 2015 Hard to come to any conclusions when the Obama administration continues to withhold and obstruct. If the 'Most transparent administration in history" would cooperate maybe this would come to a conclusion. Funny how libtards say this should all just go away, nothing to see here, and blame Reps for looking for the truth when it is their party responsible for this not being resolved years ago. If there really is nothing to hide, why does Obama continue to hide?

I thought they did cooperate, maybe they didn't, I was too busy reading about the Browns backfield to bother with it. Just like we both were when the report came in. My guess is that if they really didn't cooperate it was because they know it's stupid and pointless. The GOP just wants to blow smoke and pretend they're looking for answer. They're about as interested in finding the truth as the Pakistanis were interested in finding bin Laden.

Baker Boy 1,700 Posted February 13, 2015 Here’s a surprising figure, the federal government has spent more per year on solar power and other green energy programs in the last five years than it did on securing U.S. embassies. “American taxpayers spent an average of $39 billion a year over the past 5 years financing grants, subsidizing tax credits, guaranteeing loans, bailing out failed solar energy boondoggles and otherwise underwriting every idea under the sun to make solar energy cheaper and more popular,” according to a report by the American Taxpayer Alliance. Compare that $39 billion per year spent on green energy to the $2.7 billion the State Department spent on “embassy security, construction and maintenance” in 2014. President Obama’s 2016 budget proposal predicts the government will spend about $400 million less on embassy security, construction and maintenance in 2015 than in 2014. For 2016, Obama is asking for about $2.2 billion for embassy security, construction and maintenance.
