FlaHawker 24 Posted August 1, 2013 Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip on Thursday, and coach Pete Carroll said Harvin faces a long rehab. Harvin had the procedure done in New York, and Carroll said the reports the team received indicated it went "very well." Harvin will spend the next few weeks in New York before returning to Seattle. "There's a long rehab process coming up," said Carroll, who declined to provide a timetable for Harvin's return but said the team's is "optimistic" it will be during the 2013 season. "That's what we're hoping," said Carroll. "We're hopeful that he'll have a chance to get back." NFL.com reported on Wednesday that the Seahawks are hoping Harvin will be able to return around Thanksgiving. The recovery time is estimated at three to four months. That would put Harvin on course for a possible return in Week 13 for a Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints. The Seahawks have a bye in Week 12 and play the Minnesota Vikings, Harvin's former team, in Week 11. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/carroll-harvin-faces-long-road-222023168--nfl.html
DankNuggs 305 Posted August 1, 2013 I think you shut him down for the year barring injury of existing WR corps. No chemistry and initial rust in what's likely to be pivotal games. Ideal situation is to win the division and have him in some meaningless week 15/16 games and evaluate. He's the type of guy you line up all over the field, and all those different play and route requirements need chemistry. And even if you don't get a contribution from him this year, this organization is put together to have a lot of staying power, the window has just cracked open. DankNuggs 305 Posted August 1, 2013 Lynch isn't being taken off the field in important situations for Michelle. He is one of the top backs in the league. I'd argue the second best.

And even if you don't get a contribution from him this year, this organization is put together to have a lot of staying power, the window has just cracked open. Tate is similar enough to Harvin in terms of ability to change direction, that they could install some plays initially made to go with Harvin, and simply run them with Tate, to develop the team chemistry for those plays. Then when Harvin is ready to come off of PUP, say week 12 or something, everyone knows where they are supposed to be. However...chemistry is a fickle mistress. If the team is doing well without Harvin, maybe keep him out of there for the season. He's young.

This absolutely correct. Turbin will be a third down back at best and Michael will take over a few series a game for Lynch, which in the end will keep beast mode fresh all year. I think it would serve the long term interests of the team best to let him just heal up and come back in 2014.

Here's the thing, Jackass....Flahawker and you love to hijack other people's threads for no other reason than to just be asswholes and hurl insults. RoadLizard 73 Posted August 2, 2013 I have to admit, its nice that the Seabags are actually worth watching now when they show up on TV. For like... the previous 50 years you could safely skip any games they were involved in due to a lack of stars and talent. So, thats cool.

Hey, Pudding For Brains, there is a distinction between the Geek Bored and the Mange Bored, and has been for as long as you and I have been here. Two completely different entities, different behaviors, different moderation, different personalities. The Mange is geared to talk about football. The Geek Bored is the Wild Wild West. So don't give me a lecture about decorum and respect, sweet t!ts. You just don't get it. Now get off your high horse of outrage and start a thread to defend your favorite players on your team the Eagles, the dog killing, woman beating, black people hating rooting tooting sons of guns.
