***The Official Seattle Seahawks 2013 Season Thread***

Recommended Posts

Foles could probably have below average games in as many as he would need to qualify for your make-believe year and a half milestone and still be ahead of Wilson. He had the third best passer rating of ALL-TIME this year.

And the onus isn't on me or anyone else to prove the players wrong. The got busted for failing a drug test and the players union sees that the results are never released to the public. This is to protect the players. Why do you suppose they negotiated that into it? So they could get busted taking PEDs and tell people it was only pot. Smarten up a little, will you?

And again, they lost three games and you blame all three on the refs. No one above the age of ten does that. You sound like a focking retard.

We are getting nowhere with the drug debate with no resolution in sight, so blow it out your ass.

You read yet do not understand a focking thing. An ingredient of a loss can be bad officiating. Go back and reread the Arizona summary I just quoted. I blamed being flat, being a young team, shitty play calling, retarded special teams, terrible offense, and two shitty ref calls. I am not solely blaming the loss on the refs, but it's a part of the stew, you nitwit.

Foles has nothing to do with Wilson. It was nothing to do with the stat I just threw out, why Wilson is considered one of the better QBs in football. Instead of addressing my point, you redirect to Foles. Who the fock gives a fock about focking dumn fock Foles. Fock. Irrelevant. :wall:

Stick around. If there were more Seahawk fans like you and Kopy, and less like phillybear and Flahwaker, Seattle wouldn't be despised like they are by everyone.

Clearly, NewbierJr is an attention wh0re that wants to suck your d!ck. Not gonna work, Sandusky.

You are the least objective person in this thread (not counter Faghawker, but he's mentally retarded). You're whiny when they lose, and a doosh when they win. You think Wilson is a top QB in the league (he's actually around #12), you believe (or at least pretend to) that all of their drug suspensions are pot, rather than admitting they are taking performance enhancers. You think that every loss is the result of bad calls. You think that calling one of their players the sixth best at his position in the league is an insult. You're a focking joke. You're basically Faghawker with about ten extra IQ points.

Wilson is higher than 12th in the league.

But come on now Newbie, I don't think you would be in this thread if you didn't like all the talking you do with my fellow Hawk fans. You yourself, will not just let it go and keep coming back to stir the pot.

I'm always here checking in, but I steer away and move on when all I see is this BS and my cocky is bigger then yours garbage.
I mean, find a room already. ;)

It really ruins this thread. But whatever, I guess there's not a lot going on. And some maybe like it.
So anyway, you gals can get back to what you do and have at it with each other. :D

I do not want anyone to underestimate the impact Percy Harvin is going to have going forward. He practiced with no issues all week. He is a 100% go for the game. Our WRs have struggled at times to get open, with the exception of Golden Tate, who seems to improve week to week to week. With Harvin out there, running faster than the wind, if you believe the reports from practice, that forces New Orleans to focus on him on scheme on defense. The problem is there is zero film to analyze of how Seattle is planning on using him because he hasn't played all year. A secret weapon that packs a huge punch. And, that give one on one opportunities for Tate, and even less attention paid to possession WRs Baldwin and Kearse. Luke Willson is a go despite his bum ankle so the TEs are bigger factors as attention is paid to Harvin.

Oh, and if they don't game plan for Harvin.....

Are the weather conditions predicted to be the same as yesterday?

http://espn.go.com/blog/seattle-seahawks

RENTON, Wash. -- It’s not going to snow or freeze, but the forecast for Saturday’s game between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks calls for gusty winds and lots of rain.

Basically, just the way the Seahawks like it at CenturyLink Field.

The temperature at kickoff is expected to be 47 degrees with a 90 percent chance of rain, and some of it could be heavy. Sustained winds are predicted to be between 20 and 25 mph, with 40-mph gusts possible.

The Seahawks, who have won 15 of their past 16 homes games, believe those types of conditions play into their hands with their power running game and aggressive defense, which allowed the fewest points in the NFL this season.

Go Hawks! :first:

Weather is the same from what I'm hearing by the way. Bad news for Brees against our stingy Def.

Actually as a Saints fan I am loving the wind warnings, if it helps to maybe shut down Wilson and the big pass play I am very happy knowing that going in.

I just got to know if you are truly a "bear" from Philly? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Maybe it effects both QB's, but I would say it effects Brees more. Wilson can move with his feet, and we are a running team. We will look to pound you first and second and I think we are more apt to do it then you guy's. Also, with Harvin back (And Tate) we could do small passes and be just fine.

Brees likes to go deep more I think. (Meachem/Stills) and Colston will be covered. Graham also tends to go more deep then short.

Plus Wilson is used to this weather and he's at home. Brees is not and has to also deal with us/12th man.

Should be fun though!

I doubt he has a huge impact in the pass game.

Guy has been out of the game for a long damn time.

Practice is one thing...but game time is another.

Wilson > Romo, Foles, Ryan, and most the time Rivers. Rivers is not consistent enough IMO>

Id put him borderline top 5.

Foles and Ryan are not top 10. Ryan took a huge step back and Foles is just going to end up an average QB we will see next year.

'Ole Pete is slow playing Percy Harvin like a pair of pocket Aces.

Harvin played part of one game this year. Was involved in two plays vs Minnesota. An acrobatic catch to convert a 3rd down. And a kick return for mega yards. Alas, it was a mere glimpse of the potential.

I am like a kid waiting to unwrap a Christmas gift with Harvin going tomorrow. I'm not getting some shitty socks either.

I see a couple of keys to this game from the Hawks perspective.

When the Saints have the ball: Bobby Wagner, MLB

- the Saints are more likely to run the ball this time around, partly because of the weather, partly because they have been pretty good at it lately, partly because they will want to defuse our ridiculous pass defense. Run it straight at Avril and see if he can hold up. Or at Clemons. Wagner has been improving on run defense after playing through injury earlier in the year and has stepped it up nicely in recent games. He is going to have to sniff out the runs when they happen and prevent big plays from going through. At the same time, he's probably also going to have to run with Graham down the seam on some pass routes since KJ Wright is no longer available. If Wagner has a big game, I think we win.

When the Hawks have the ball: Doug Baldwin, WR

Deep throws are going to be unlikely in this one given the weather. Harvin is a Ferrari, but do you take the Ferrari out of the garage in poor weather? Not usually. I think he'll be more decoy. Maybe some running plays or short throws into the flat, but the footing might be rough out there. Oh sure we'll see a steady diet of Marshawn Lynch and - possibly? - Christin Michael (I don't know why, I just have a gut feeling that PC turns him loose out there this time when Marshawn is getting a breather), but there will also be a handful of 3rd and 5, 3rd and 6 situations. Enter Mr. Baldwin, one of the best possession guys in the league. Move them chains.

Kind of what I was thinking with Harvin. More of a decoy. A couple running plays, or quick slots and see if he can rack up the YAC.

More of a decoy when it comes to passing. Just used to spread out the secondary, and leave under neith stuff open for Baldwin and the TE's.

I think he does get to kick off return.

Could you imagine if Harvin ever took the opening kickoff of the game down for a TD?

That stadium might calapse.

New Orleans has two pro bowlers on an offensive line which is arguably the best in the NFL. It seems every season there is some unsung hero in the NFL playoffs. Circumstances may prove that guy to be Mark Ingram in this game. I'd run that guy till the cows came home, mixing in Darren Sproles on third down passing situations. A strong running attack coupled with Drew Brees play action passes down the seam is a good game plan.

Seattle 35

New Orleans 14

Lots of penalties. Seattle punches the Saints in the mouth repeatedly. Again.

I'm wet, I have no voice but we going to Championship Sunday!! Wwwwooooo hoooooo!!

That passing offense was hideous, will need to do better to advance vs SF or Carolina.

Hawks' pass protection not good enough, and Wilson misfired on a few passes, but it's a win, I'll definitely take it. I just don't think we can ride Marshawn like that against either the Niners or the Panthers with the same level of success as today. Saints impressed me - very physical, tried to punch us in the mouth just as much as we punched them. Tough game. I definitely did not think their D would be as physical as they showed.

Anyhoo, one game away from the biggie.

Incidentally, anyone happen to remember who we beat in '05 to get to the Big Game? Carolina. Maybe it's '05 redux?

Any idea when we hear about Harvin? Tuesday maybe?

What are your thoughts on him? I'm not so sure he thinks he's Batman right now, as much as I think he took 2 really hard hits. The first by bush, then the second by his face plant into the ground. Up by 16 at halftime. And still not in actual game shape, I think he was just held out. He's really sore, but I don't think his head's scrambled.

Also, who do you think should raise the 12th man flag on sunday?

I'm thinking Matt Hasselbeck would be great. Now that the Colts are done, he's not too buisy this weekend.

Great Question! Several ex players I would like to see:

1- Kenny Easley--The Godfather of the Legion of Boom!

2- Walter Jones

3- Michael Sinclair

or

The BOZ :overhead:
