Poor Nikki is taking a beating

Recommended Posts

Sharing it with friends on the internet is one thing. Someone posting it on a fantasy football website with a bunch of dooshbags that are only going to bash her for her looks is another. I don't think she ever posted it (I could be wrong), and if she didn't, it's a total d1ck move to post it over there.

It's a total move for anyone who posted it on any messageboard. It's an even bigger move for people to be as merciless as they've been. I honestly always thought that everyone here was probably a decent person and wouldn't really say things to others with the intentions of hurting their feelings. I know that I. personally, have not said a nasty, hurtful thing to a person in my life since I was probably in middle school. I think that once you get past the age of about 12, there's a human's capacity to understand the impact that words have on people. That's why a 7 year old might call a class mate fat, while any decent human probably wouldn't as a high school student or adult. The things people are saying about Nikki (and Gettnhuge) are so much different than calling Gutterboy short, or me orange, or Drobeski no neck. That's messageboard ballbusting based on pictures or stories we CHOSE to post. I'm pretty sure no one here loses any sleep about that. But scraping up a picture someone found and then talking behind their back and insinuating they are ugly is hurtful. Real life hurtful. The kind of hurt that can cause self-esteem issues. And it's done intentionally, knowing it's causing someone hurt. It just surprises me that any one here has that much disregard for someone else.

Damn, reading as a guest and not being able to respond is rough

It would pain me to be able to read posts but not respond. Let me know what you would like to post, and I will post it there for you. You must, however, abide by my rules:

1. No statements that may hurt feelings

2. No swearing

3. No criticism of Obama

But by all mean go ahead an keep insisting that people post pictures of themselves.

I will take a really soupy sh!t on your grave someday, making sure it soaks into the ground. That's a promise. And THAT will be the first picture I ever post.

They did not share this in some "friends-only" site like Facebook. They put it in the newspaper as a wedding announcement.

I know nothing about any of those people other than things they choose to offer. If you can't tell the difference between messageboard ball busting and real life, I feel even more sad for you today than I always have.

I suppose. Perhaps it is like picking on your little brother; you can do it, but nobody else can.

That being said, it has to be in jest like newbie said. I was personally never comfortable with the vibe of the comments on their wedding pic.

I'm sure the intention of putting it in the newspaper was not for it to be posted online so that a bunch of interwebs strangers unencumbered by societal norms could bash her for her looks. That doesn't fall under the category of "fair game", IMO.

If you post something online, whether it is words or pictures is fair game.

Chickenlegs is always telling us how there are no ramifications to posting your pic on the innerwebs...................and then cries like a schoolgirl cuz people made fun of a pic posted on the innerweb.

That's ridiculous.

Say Nikki wanted to avoid this, yet still wanted to celebrate and notify real-life people of her real/life marriage. What is she supposed to do? Submit to a print-only publication or something? They hardly even have those anymore and nobody reads them.

I am not at all surprised that you don't see the difference between messageboard ball busting and abusing someone personally. Since messageboarding is practically you're entire life. However, my comments were directed at normal people with actual lives and stuff.

If you posted a pic here in response to all of Newbie's pleadings, then your picture would be fair game. If you posted a pic on a site with you and your wife or kids for a different reason, and some douche posted it here, it would be just as uncool.

Wasn't there something like this with Mensadoosh a while back? Somebody posted personal info about him here and he went ballistic? And although he went mental describing what he would do to the offender, he was right to be pissed.

If you choose to share it, you choose to take the abuse. Nikki didn't choose to share that picture with us or the FBG guys.

So you are saying there may be unintended consequences of posting pics on the innerwebs.

Gotcha.

You should try to get over your Newbie obsession and post something intelligent about the subject.

In other words, take your own advice.

Or maybe I'll just say it the RP way: "So, you have nothing to add to the subject. Gotcha!"
