Thinking about writing a book about how to win at fantasy football

Recommended Posts

Been playing it ... for a couple years now.

Thinking:

Gronking Fantasy: A Fantasy Players Playbook or just GFAFPP for short.

Here's a little excerpt from my early draft. Haven't had an editor look at it.

Chapter two: Calk Blocking

Your opponent has 2 WRs on a bye next week. There's some guys on the waiver wire you don't want him to get. It's not against the rules to pick up these players, so you should not be ashamed of using waiver moves, strictly to calk block. It's strategy and part of the game. If anyone disagrees with you, say "Look, this guy wrote a book and said it's fine.". Don't let anyone tell you different.

A lot of people that play fantasy football think that the points scored against them is all luck. Well, this move is an example of a way to prevent your opponents from scoring points against you. See chapter 7, Foking Your Opponents By Trading, for more info.

This was the best move ... Evah.

Couple years ago, I drafted Aaron Rodgers. He's good. Friend of mine, in the league was getting killed. I also picked up Vick. didn't need another QB, but Vick was there and he started putting up crazy numbers.

So, it turned out, week 10 was Green Bays bye. I decided I was gonna roll with Vick going forward. Had to trade Discount Doublecheck. Who do I play week 10? My buddy who is already out of it and starving for a QB.

Who did I get in trade? It didn't matter. He could play Rodgers against everyone, each week, but me. Hurt everyone but me. And week 10, when we played ... Vick just went off and I destroyed him because he was without his stud QB. Yeah, I planned it that way.

Almost backfired, he almost made the playoffs, finished 3rd and he mighta beat me in the playoffs. I won, but I might not have beat his team.

12 team, standard. I was the Treasurer, so I pretty much just kep all the money the other 11 players sent me. Had to pay out the guy that came in second.

Some guys got mad and accused us of cheating. My friend would say, "They never apologized for that, either. We finished first and third, mostly because of that trade and nobody ever said sorry for accsuing us of collusion.

He knew, when we made the trade, that I was offering him Rodgers because of the bye situation. Helped both teams. Not cheating.

That was the year I took Randy Moss in the first round. i think Brandon Lloyd was part of the deal, in a KR league.

Ok, how about this, what's some BS I could use in the marketing, that sounds good, and is technically true, like I habe been playing FF for over 20 years.

Like you could say. "Famously, week one of the 2014 Season Adam Author suggested starting Allen Hurns, who went off for 2 TDs in the first half."

It's true. Not sure how famous it is.

You could throw a percentage in there, started by .03 percent of Yahoo leagues. Make it sound more amazing than it really was. I think Hurns has skills. Reminds me a lot of a young Victor Cruz. He's got a lot of heart, and you gotta admire a guy like that. I still have him, on multiple teams this year. Yeah, I like the kid. He's a fighter.

I can't even stand to read one of your posts, let alone a book.

Hey, here's an idea. Instead of yet another pipe dream from that self-proclaimed genius mind of yours, why don't you do something like a responsible grown man might do? Like get a job maybe ?

Awesome, can you post a pre-order link? Thanks in advance. I also would consider contributing to a Kickstarter campaign.

Ya know, people manage to wins leagues all the time without your help. Have been for years. Heck, I won in 1998 without your book. Stroke of genius it was, drafting Terrell Davis 1st.

The tomato soup screwed the margins.

I calk blocked the guerenado owner and took some backup from SF and Miller from the Saints and he had to start a WR in his flex spot in week 16, beat his ass and took second place :winning: :pointstosky:

I'm the greatest, most knowledgeable Fantasy Football Manager of all time. Championships fall out of my pocket when I walk.

It wouldn't be fair if I gave away my secrets.
