Ted Wells Presents DeflateGate Report To NFL, Patriots; No Discipline Decided Yet

Recommended Posts

illegal  well sure, technically. Again. DUI is illegal, ever done that? yeah, thought so.

Get off your focking soapbox already.

No, I actually have never driven drunk. Not once, ever. As if that has anything to do with gaining an advantage on the baseball field.

But it's funny the stretches you are going for to RATIONALIZE it was okay to use ILLEGAL DRUGS to CHEAT at baseball. It's pathetic the excuses you come up with to make it all right to cheat. Sorry Ed, one does not need to be on a soapbox to know the difference between right and wrong.

Here's what he should have said immediately. "I put incredible pressure on our equipment team to make sure everything is just the way I want it. In this instance, they went too far and that's on me. The rules are there for a reason and the balls were obviously lower than league rules permit. I apologize and never meant to challenge the integrity of the league and its rules."

Done. He/the Pats would have been fined. No need for him to deny access to his texts and emails. No need for their ridiculous press conference where they all pretended to be SO insulted. And no need for this to have drug on for four months.

The cover up is always worse than the crime. WHen you're busted, you're just wired to lie. Everyone does it.

You are 100% correct.

Now see, if you were having this argument with RP, you could never err to the side of it's the worst thing ever.

Seems legit to me.

Correct. Keep in mind this approach then implicitly suggests accountability which is considered something to avoid at all costs in our culture. Further, given the perception of the Patriots it makes perfect sense also that his first instinct is to deny and point at others, that is something of a Patriots-thing.

In the end he played himself perfectly, showed the true nature of his filthy character that we already knew and other NFL players have been noting as well. I doubt he was always this way, but likely was susceptible to it, and the Patriots led him the rest of the way.

You are an "excusist", a realist would realize that cheating is wrong.

Does that then make Brady a "cheatist"? :D

I think the perception of cheating in general is a little different in the New England area

Anyone else just tired of the talk about it? I mean it's really an extremely small thing and will get handled. No one was talking about the falcons pumping noise into the stadium for this long. I guess it does have something to do with no punishment has been decided but still. It's really old news guys.

All it's going to take is one guy in sports to actually realize he was busted and man-up, and it might start a trend. But I'm still waiting.

This. The biggest loser here is Brady. Regardless of what the suspension ends up being. The hit to his legacy is huge. Not just on the field, but as a person. I hated Brady the QB. But always thought he seemed like a decent, albeit effeminate, fella. Now I think he's a douche.

I was going to post a laughing smilie but thought maybe a sad faced smilie would be better. It's incredible that only Patriot fans can't see the obvious.

Andy Pettite.

Yes, he did admit it. After that report came out that named him and a bunch of others. I used him as an example last week. He's handled cheating accusations better than anyone else I can think of. And he's more well-respected than any of the other cheaters. Seems like everyone still love Andy Pettite

To be fair, people loved Pettite before then as well...

Are the Patriots worse than hyper inflation?

Right. That's my point. Ryan Braun was widely liked, league wide. Then he got caught the first time and lied through his teeth. And through people under the bus in the process. When he got caught a second time, he became a joke. Now, only Brewers fans like the guy. No one learned a thing from Pettite.

Braun is one of the biggest dousches in MLB, I thought even before the steroids. He wasn't beloved league wide

I read where they were saying it was due to past transgressions that they penalized them so much

Kraft already said they will not appeal whatever the league decides last week. The question is, was that a lie, too?

no, it wasn't. tip of the iceberg. They chose not to give the stuff over because this is what they do.

Brady already has appealed.
