Let's Meet John Kasich

Recommended Posts

I'm interested in what someone who usually votes democrat sees in Kasich. To me his policies are boiler plate republican.

His record in Ohio speaks for itself. Balanced the budget by spreading the pain around, bur accepted Medicaid expansion to make sure that Ohioans were not screwed. Doesn't operate on the notion that beating the Democrats is the most important thing to accomplish. Is willing to compromise to accomplish his goals.

I will tell you the exact moment I knew he'd make a good president: Right after he was elected, he signed a very unpopular bill that limited the power of public unions. It was a bone ttohrown the base, but most Ohioans hated it, so a referendum to repeal it was put on the ballot and the law was repealed. Tea Party Republicans wanted him to push to get the law or a variant of it back, but he said "The people have spoken and the subject is closed". And he hasn't said or done anything on the matter since then

That's a man that knows the limit of his power begins and ends with the people.

Fiscally responsible, compassionate, willing to compromise, doesn't pander to the lunatic fringe. And he's not Hillary.

What's not to like?

He's not the worst guy to come down the pipe. But he wants to privatize S.S. and do away with regulations. Not a great combo if you ask me.

There isn't a candidate that fits me or anyone perfectly. In this crop of candidates, he's the best of the bunch. I'll take a moderate Kasich whi will do some things I'm not altogether on board with over a far right Cruz or far left Hillary any day.

And to be clear, I have no problem voting for Hillary if it comes down to that.

Gary is waaaaaaaay off, no winning presidential candidate has ever had NEAR the unfavorability rating of Trump. In fact IIRC no winning candidate has ever had a negative rating at all and Trump is at like -20%.

If we do get Trump vs. Hillary, somebody is going to shatter that record and it'll be like chasing DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak for future disaster candidates trying to re-break it.

If that poll mentioned anything about Kasich, you would have a point.

he's evidently irrelevant, and all we hear is he's the only guy who has a chance based on polls. :dunno:

Must be a biased source I guess.

Alright, enough with the clown show. The Trump thing was fun, it was entertaining and all, but now its actually becoming time to support the lone adult in the room.

A vote in the Primary for Trump or Cruz is a vote for Hillary for POTUS. People need to realize that.

update ?

If the poll takers have decided he's irrelevant and keep his name off of it, then yeah, it's biased.

A site that aggregates dozens of polls from different organizations is biased, but you cherry picking one that shows your guy ahead isn't?

You're more retarded than usual today

My fear is that this will be the new normal and Peyton Manning's 55 TD season is yet to come :(

I think we should poll a Morgan Freeman vs. Clinton match-up, seems just as likely. Hoyt, get on it!

Who gives a sh!t about polls with extremely unlikely match-ups.

:dunno:

Kasich hasn't inspired people outside of Ohio to get out and pull the lever in his name, why would that change, assuming he was somehow handed the nomination against the people's will?

They don't have a "take" on the polls dumbass, they just collect the data and present it. Have you ever actually even looked at the site?

This is a serious question, not being a smartass.

Didn't Reagan win with moderates and independents? Isn't that why there's the term Reagan Democrats? I was 7 when Reagan won his first presidential election, sooooooo lol. I see zero chance of Cruz winning over independents and moderate "dems". He's going to have a hard enough time winning moderate republicans, and Trump is done imo.

Yep, pretty sure you are correct. Even with the media and the establishment republicans losing their minds, he proved the naysayers wrong. Cater being borderline nuts prolly helped him some too.

My only point is that the same tactics used against Reagan are the same ones used against Trump today. Before the nutballs like SN come in here trying misunderstand my post and see shtt in my post that is not there, I am not claiming Trump is the next Ronald Reagan. Not by a long shot. Just how the same tired rhetoric is being used. That's it. Only way I think I could vote for Trump is if somehow, it is Trump vs Bernie, and even then, I am not so sure.

Look chief...I have been civil with you for quite a while. Nearly every time you pop in to respond to me is you insulting me. So don't give me this be that I revise. You bumped crap from 8 months ago to whine about me. And you call me creep...focking hilarious

And no, Reagans were not this bad...and again..Trump is a focking speck of a bit compared to Reagan.

Its OK you moved on from creepy cruz to the only dumbass who is nearly as bad.

Just don't ever call yourself a conservative of you support Trump.

Oh, I see you are still trying to turn that bump of mine into something it is not, even though I spelled it all out for you. GOOD.

Most of your posts are laughable and trolling. You are just pissed so many are now calling your horseshtt tactics out. We buried the hatchet a long time ago and I even publicly apologized to you on more than one occasion, yet all you do is troll me. I looked away for years and continued to engage you anyway. Time to give back. You're welcome, creep.

Im pissed at what? You are the only one calling my so called tactics out. And you get a pow or boom or whatever from a focking troll alias.

I troll you? You have followed me around multiple times and recently bumped a post from 8-9 months ago.

I don't focking troll you...seriously...seek help for that delusional crap you are going through.

Got anything cued up that I posted last May?

Holy crap you have issues man

Hmm, who else was it that really loved that phrase? I can't recall ;)

Watch out for this guy, he's sharp! But it's evident that RP is RMFF in your head. Good job.

He is either RP and on his 6th id now...or trying to act like him to get reactions.

Equally sad and pathetic either way.

New York Daily News endorsed Kasich today. Not sure where the paper sits in the NYC media landscape.

The Daily News was once the moderate paper in town, but it has taken a sharp turn to the left in the last 3-4 years. The BLM guy Shaun White who claims to be black but isn't, is a columnist for them now.

Well, regardless, it has the third largest circulation after the WSJ and NYT, so a good grab for Kasich. Actually fitting for the third place guy to get the third place paper endorsement

I assume the NYT will not endorse on the GOP side, and the WSJ will go with either Cruz or Kasich.
