I've been offered gronk straight up

AP plus Gates ....

Curious to see if others have traded for him

I don't think I'd deal him right now. As crazy as it seems, I think you have to ride this out and hope he can continue to perform at an insane level.

He is playing at an unbelievable level and putting up numbers at 1 position that you'd be content to get out of 2. IMO that makes him all but impossible to deal unless your team has so many other holes.

I'd laugh that Gronk offer down at this point. The AP/Gates offer seems okay but AP just isn't playing elite at this point.

Don't know what the rest of your team looks like but Gronk for Freeman I would do it . Coleman when healthy will start playing more and more and take work from Freeman . . I know Freeman is the number one fantasy stud right now , but Coleman is going to play .

I'd be all over Gronk for Freeman. Unless your early RB were something like Hill and Lacy, I'm assuming you have some other RB1 and 2 given Freeman's ADP.

Forsett and Gurley

I've tried to pry Coleman from the guy in last place but he wouldn't take a wr2 for him

Gronk trade tempting but holding

I think the guy who offered Cobb and gates is hoping I counter w gurley

Well – Gronk, AP and Gurley have already had their BYE's and Freeman's is still coming. So you have to figure that heavily into your decision.

In other words, you should be adding their average collective points per game versus what you would be missing w/ Freeman during his BYE. With Gates and AP in particular, you're not only adding those points, but also covering Forsett's bye with another RB1. If your point differential between Forsett and whomever you would start in his place is large, it would bode well to look at the trade.

Remember, fantasy is about consistency. If you have the opportunity to mitigate automatic loss of points in ANY week it far outweighs any small upside you might gain week over week with any player. I just don't see Freeman finishing the season averaging 13 more points a game then Peterson he is now.

I'm deep at rb w Woodhead, Hill and the KC backfield, Clay at TE. The Coleman owner has AP and no startable rb after ap. As far as consistency (which I ascribe to) my team has been top 3 or better every week so far. Of course, most of those games were w Charles. If Hill or someone in KC steps up then I will pull the trigger

That's not deep. Deep is also having Devante. Without Devante you've got plenty of question marks at RB.

whether you accept this deal really depends on what the rest of your team looks like.

The first thing you need to know is the current pace he is on is not sustainable. Not even if his name was ADP. He would shatter all records in no time if he did sustain this pace.

The question you need to answer is where does he settle at?

If you have 2 solid RB's I'd trade him for gronk without delay.

If I'd had the foresight and wisdom to draft him and keep him after his two ehhh weeks at the beginning of the season, there is NO WAY I'd be trading him. Players like Freeman and DeAndre are going to be ridden right into the winner's circle of a championship.

What did you pay to get him? An 8th round pick? Maybe a WW claim? You can't beat that.

That's where I disagree.

  • His value will never be higher.
  • There's zero precedent by Freeman to play at this pace (versus Gronk and AP)
  • He still has a Bye week (the players offered do not.)
  • Trading harvested and inflated value for week over week point consistency is the single greatest way to win leagues.

Never say never ... Right?

Looking to the playoffs I'm inclined to keep him absent a crazy good offer.

Guy in my league offered Freeman for Gurley straight up. Bye factors heavily into his offer. Don't think I'll take it.

Id take top scorer in FF in the last decade with 10tds already vs a guy with 0 TDs on a worse team whos running for alot of yards. Freeman is a light year ahead of Gurley who is a top RB1. shows how valuable Freeman is.

Would anyone offer Freeman for Gore and Rodgers? Russell and Bortles as current QB's? No idea if he'd entertain the idea but but would it be idiotic?

300 snaps to 95. The history of the NFL shows us Freeman is due for some serious market correction. I really doubt he's better then LT or Faulk which is what his current pace would dictate. 23 year old guys who are 5'8" and 200 lbs., in there second year of the NFL don't suddenly gain the endurance to have over 400 touches over a 17 game window after seeing 200 in college over 11 games. I also don't know if ATL will maintain a pace of over 70 offensive snaps per game using 1 RB almost 90% of the time.

I could be wrong (history would say otherwise), but light years seems like a stretch.

No.

Russell has only 50 or so less points then Rodgers (6pt TDS) – or about 5 a week. Freeman has over 100 more then Gore (PPR), about 15 a week. Even if (when) Freeman comes back to earth figure he's still better then 5 points a week more then Gore.

The only reason to even consider it would be gaining Rodgers Bye, but Bortles is a nice cover. If I had Freeman I'd be targeting the guy with Ivory or Gurley and working a package for him and a WR1 for Freeman and a WR2 or even 3.

That is basically my thinking. I'm 4-2, but scoring well. I feel like Gurley hasn't reached his ceiling, and Freeman can't sustain this type of production.

I'm not convinced he can't keep playing at this pace. That oline is mauling people and the scheme is fantastic for the kid. Most importantly they have a joke of a schedule.

I agree with the schedule.

only one really decent run D. And they arent even elite. the rest are pretty crappy Defenses.

His usage was due to Julio not being healthy for the past 3-4 weeks. Once Julio get back to normalcy, you'll see Freeman's carries decrease but hopefully not his production. You may also see Coleman close out games, providing he doesn't fumble, to keep Freeman fresh.

Driving home from work I was listening to SiriusXM Fantasy Football and the announcer said this is the week Freeman gets hurts and Coleman takes over. I wanted to stick my hand thru the radio and choke the hell out of him. People just can't enjoy letting a player have a breakout season because of the perception of being too "fragile" and too "small" to be a full time RB.

Devonta Freeman 5'9 206 lbs

Barry Sanders 5'8 200 lbs

Emmit Smith 5'9 210 lbs

Not saying he's in the same class as Smith and Sanders but he is basically the same size as these HOFers.

Maybe we are indeed witnessing history in the making here with Freeman, but the odds heavily favor the opposite. He's killing it and that's awesome, but his current workload and production are exceptions and not the norm.

In our PPR league, you could knock 16 points per game off his average since he took over.....and he would still be the #1 RB.

Obviously he is going to drop off. But by how much? Cut his production in half and he is top 5 still.

I wouldn't trade him. Could easily be the guy you ride all the way to a championship. Think Arian Foster in those years he was destroying the league. Or Marshall faulk, priest Holmes or laidanian Tomlinson back in their day. You don't trade those guys for anything

I would trade him for Leveon Bell and Odell Beckham if someone offered it.

Ha, thanks! I'll tell ya what, I've been a big FFToday guy for awhile, but just found the forums. Comments like yours is why I think they're a welcome change from almost every other fantasy site out there.

If I have to hear a single person here come in and act like Freeman had a bad game I will throw up, he had yet another good game. 120yds rushing is a good day,if not a great one. Yes, he failed to get 30 points...he still had a great day. I swear, if even a single one of you act like this is "THE DOWNFALL OF DAVONTA," I will find you and make you eat a taco made of my turds.

Geez a 10-7 game and Feeman/Julio still put up numbers. Odd, everyone's lucky to have seen that many points.

No, Freeman didn't have a bad game, but the point of wrath's post was that Freeman's trade value was at it's highest point this past week. Not sure if Freeman would get Gronk anymore.
