Draft might be deep enough to get into the 2nd half of fumble's favorites list

You bring up a good point. With 5 or 6 people mandating 3 golfers make the cut was fine. With 10 people drafting, does this still apply? The feild is thinning, teams will be weaker.

It may be fine, and in no way I'm I saying we should change, but just a thought. :dunno:

I think maybe once last year in 4 tournies did someone not have 3 golfers make the cut?

usually about half the field makes the cut, 60 to 70 golfers.

we are drafting 54 total right now.

Isn't the Masters only top 40 and ties or something like that? If we draft 54 guys everyone should have 3 people make the cut.

I personally like a mandatory 3 player cut qualification... It brings into play insight and thought.

I'm okay with it as well. Danks post about having upwards of 10 teams and the teams thus being much more weaker made me think of questioning it.

That's all.

I think he was making light of how long Fumble's list is?

Okay. His post prompted me to think of the rules, not that he was talking about them. :dunno:

Doesn't change the fact that when you add, almost double the amount of teams that you may want to question if the same rules still apply or should also be looked at.

If we had 15 teams then you'd no doubt have to reduce the mandatory cut makers from 3 to 2. Or else you have a large number of teams maybe not even qualify. Top guys miss the cut all the time.

That was my only question....it was not meant to be anything more than that. I'm good with whatever.

10 is the perfect number in my mind. Good amount of dough on the line but no so many people that you're taking Larry Mize with your last pick.

I was at a bar in Cleveland when that was going on. You'd swear that Cink was a child rapist with the way everyone was rooting against him.

The thing that made it exceptionally painful is that Tom didn't hit a bad shot, he didn't pull a Van de Velde choke swing on anything. What he did was super pure/nuke a 8 iron from 160 yards that just flew well past where he ever thought it would. He knew he had to land it on the front part of the green bcoz it wasn't going to hold... He just flat out flushed it and it cost him... Fock, I'm still mad for him.

No, he was in great shape.. He just flat out nuked a 8 iron and it carried almost hole high, then of course it rolled off the back.. It ended up in a horrible spot too, right against the collar. One of those lies you have hit and accelerate thru to make sure you don't chub it - when he did it went 10 feet past the hole coming back.

From what I recall he did pretty much everything wrong in the play-off. It was 3 or 4 holes and Cink dusted him by like 5 or 6 shots.

couple things since i last chimed in

1. we could just end it at 10 participants max. not saying we should, as more $ makes it more interesting but if team depth is an issue just cap it at 10.

2. needing only 2 of your 6 golfers to make the freaking cut is lame and then we would have to change it to the score of your best 2 not 3 which would be a big ding to the people who correctly get 3 or 4 guys making the cut.

3. adding to #2, picking 3 golfers to make the cut shouldn't be that hard. We did it when we had 6-7 entrants and i barely recall anyone failing to qualify for the weekend. im sure it happened and im sure it will happen again, but if it does, you made bad picks.... you lose.

4. as already noted. with 10 teams, 60 golfers will be drafted. the top 50+ ties make the cut at augusta. So 1 golfer per 6 man squad should be expected to miss the cut if we are all the golf wiz's we claim to be.
