Georgie Zimmerman to sell weapon used in trayvon Martin shooting

Nevermind on the retarded question. You confirmed it.

Oh, ok, so if a guy you don't know approaches you in an aggressive manner, and you see he has a gun and he's within a few feet of you, run. Good luck. I'll take my chances duking it out.

So, if TM had a gun, and he saw GZ coming at him and GZ made a move towards his gun, would TM be justified if he shot him? Uh oh.

What evidence would that be - being a black teenager, walking thru the neighborhood? Hum, I wasn't aware the Klan had risen again.

Dee Dee's statements which corroborate those of Zimmerman.

I thought we already confirmed you were retarded. No point in doubling down.

Rule of thumb: You win every fight you don't get in.

You win almost every fight you get in when you shoot the other unarmed guy.

So, you don't teach people how to defend themselves if they are unarmed and the other guy has a gun? What do you teach, paintball strategy and tactics?

I was not the one who brought race in, you are thinking of CNN, the florida prosecutor, and so many other people, such as yourself, who continue to pretend it matters.

You brought race into this thread, to the surprise of absolutely nobody who has seen your schtick here over the past few years. Isn't it time for you to lecture black parents on how they should teach their kids the proper way to respond to being stalked by a deranged gunman?

Dee Dee's statements which corroborate those of Zimmerman.

Her statements.

The same statements that have her saying that TM was running bcoz of the rain and bcoz somebody was following him? (proves TM was running away from, not towards, Zimm)

The same statements that have her saying she heard TM ask the guy why he was following him? The same statements that have her saying she heard Zimms ask him what he was doing around there? (proves GZ confronted TM, not the other way around)

The same statements that have her saying that she heard someone bump TM. (physical contact initiated by Zimm)

The same statements that have her saying she heard TM saying, "Get off, get off." (pretty clear Zimm was attacking TM, and TM was the one using self defense)

If you mean these statements by Ms. Jeantel than I'm afraid you a problem. Bcoz her statements directly contradict the notion that Zimm was a victim here... Now everyone knows just how rare black teenagers are in the state of Florida, last estimates had the number at about 20. So it is understandable that being a black teenager, minding his own biz, walking could be construed as suspicious and probable cause for intervention. Now that I think about it, Zimm is prolly a hero - he prolly saved the lives of countless white people who may have had to witness a black teenager walking in their neighborhood. That kind of horror is life changing - God Bless Zimm.

Holy fock!!!

Kid is dead. Sucks...he may be partially at fault if he initiated.

Zimm is a focking idiot who started it by following...and may have initiated the physical confrontation.

This latest is just him being a POS.

No I teach people:

1. Not to be idiots. Stay out of fights.

2. Situational awareness (I won't bother)

3. Conflict avoidance/de-escalation.

4. First rule of a gun fight....bring a gun.

Yeah, situational awareness must be a bich to teach. So, no actual tactics, just stay home or bring a gun. Got it. What do I owe you for this knowledge you have imparted on to me? Is conflict de-escalation what they are calling verbal judo now? That was a funny class

You can refute the evidence if you prefer, but it stands there ready to be understood when you let go of your bias.

I love that RLLD keeps repeating that we should use the evidence at hand, refers to the statements from Dee Dee and says they corroborate Zimm's account, and then dismisses every statement from her that brings into question Zimm's account. But it's everyone else's bias that is keeping them from understanding what happened. Gotta admire than man's gonads.

And when Dee Dee tells us that Trayvon confronted Zimmerman both should not get physical, but given the evidence and wounds we can reasonably assert that Martin decided to take the confrontation away from words and into physical action. he had no way of knowing if his victim was armed, but he found out.

No way of knowing?

I can think of ways Trayvon may have known "his victim" was armed. Several in fact.

No, I'm actually a guy who has had to suffer through numerous bouts of nonsense training, usually taught by someone with very little actual experience, and dreamed up by someone with none.

Verbal Judo, Transactional Analysis, and whatever else some academic could dream up, take the brass out to dinner and get them to pay for this crap. It's one thing to waste some kids time in the academy with these time wasters that are forgotten the moment you hit the door, but once you get some experience you see them for the joke that they are. Its a money maker for the creator, and keeps the house cats busy and justified. I'm sure it's common across all sorts of industry. And oh yeah, the paradigm one. That was good. Teaching some ghetto cops a new word was well worth the effort. That's all anyone got out of it. And a long lunch break. Glug Glug.

I get that. It just seems that by bringing a gun yourself, you are turning a fight into a gun fight.

Sure, you add in the qualifier of "intend to use it". But it doesn't seem practical. Is it common to bring a gun to a fight and get your ass kicked while never being tempted to show or use the weapon?

I have approached multitudes of people I considered a possible threat. My hand was always on or near my weapon. I wonder if GZ employed the same tactic?

When you carry a gun, the first thing you'll start to realize is "I hope I don't EVER have to use this thing". There's too much riding on it.

Therefore, you don't get INTO fights. You walk away. If one doesn't have the maturity to do that, I suggest they not carry a gun, nor get a permit.

There could be times where physical force is used (fighting, per se) and you're not justified in actually USING the gun. However, you can pull it to show you're armed. Again there are rules to it (each state is a bit different), but the idea is to avoid them in the first place.

There's many things I've learned since I got into teaching this stuff, and the biggest one I take away is "there's no such thing as a fair fight".

You're either avoiding it like the plague, or, if given NO other option, you're getting medieval on someone because you HAVE to win.

I'm 45 years old (almost). My 'fighting' days are long behind me. Sure, if I had to, I could put up a fight, and maybe hold my own against an aggressor, but if was more than 1 on 1, I'm done and I know it. Fact is, I don't know anybody personally that could take on 2 (unarmed) guys.

I'm not looking for trouble. I avoid bad situations and bad people. I avoid bad areas.

But if they force me into a situation where I have no choice, and my life or my family's life is on the line, then yes, it's coming out, and it's getting used.

I will use every ounce of fight I have in me to win.

I truly believe it's about perception. I have a number of students ask questions like "so if I'm in my house, and someone breaks in, but he doesn't have an apparent weapon, can I shoot him?".

I simply tell them "you're not supposed to be looking for a reason to use the gun. you're supposed to be looking for a way out of using the gun".

Life in prison ain't worth shooting some dirtbag who is drunk and walked in the wrong house at 2am.

All of that is great and totally the proper attitude to have in my opinion. But I tend to believe you fall on the side closer to the exception than the rule.

In fact, in my world it sure feels like the guys that had trouble avoiding fights in the past are the ones more likely to be carrying now. And the people that always managed to avoid those bad situations you speak of don't carry ever when they leave the house.

MN (and many other states) are required to put out a report at the end of each year with statistics on Carry Permit holders and associated crimes.

I think you'd be VERY surprised at the numbers.

Example: https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/ooc/news-releases/Pages/BCA-Releases-2015-Permit-to-Carry-Annual-Report.aspx

Crimes committed by permit holders

Minnesota law enforcement agencies reported that individuals with permits committed 1,238 crimes in 2015. Nearly 75 percent were DWI’s or other traffic offenses.

As of today, the total number of valid permits in Minnesota is 217,909.

Go to page 331 of this report: https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/bca/bca-divisions/administrative/Documents/2014-Permit-to-Carry-Report.pdf

It shows all the crimes committed by MN Carry Permit holders in MN from 2014 (couldn't find the 2015 report).

The VAST majority are traffic violations.

I guess I would argue that this particular report (MN in general) shows that your assertion is wrong.

Yup. And cops don't say they are law enforcement. Cops just say they are cops. Lots of agencies that may enforce the law or some laws are not cops. But they want people to think they are. Pretty much most federal agencies play that little trick. And the DEP police and all that.
