Pretty long life for a fat guy.

I was thinking the same thing... Fast food fatties are like, "yea - told ya so".

A lot of people don't know this but he was actually the founder of Domino's Pizza. Because of all the late-night sessions in Motown, he and other artist needed a place to eat. Many places wouldn't serve late night and certainly wouldn't serve Negroes late at night fearing the worst.

With the royalties from his first big hit fats was no dummy. He didn't blow all his money on cars and clothes, use part of that money to purchase a nearby pizza joint. While it wasn't his first choice, it was the closest.

Originally named Amici's he was compelled to change the name as the Amici family did not want to be associated with 'that kind of crowd' if you know what I mean.

In an area hungry literally 4 black friendly restaurants and convenient food options that could be taken home the new pizza place now called Domino's did extremely well. First expanding and then opening up multiple branches.

In short order, the young artist had to decide whether he was going to become a Serious musical artist or a nascent Pizza King.

With the incredibly lucrative sale of his Newfound Pizza Empire, fats financially never had to work again. But the lure of rock music and all that came with it was too strong and the rest, as they say, is history.

You are a very sad and lonely person and in no way are you funny.

I don't know, he had me going. Well written, especially if that's off the top of his head.

I find my creative writing skills to be underappreciated in the tax profession. In fact darn near frowned upon.😞

I've seen him many times. Great musician. A lot people don't know this but he would get stage freight right before he'd go on stage. He's played thousands of shows and would still get nervous. Crazy.

The first night my parents met my wife's parents., we brought them to an oyster bar. It was a great night. A get together. My dad and her mother hit it off immediately. Incredible night! Her Dad says, What's your favorite New Orleans song? Me: Walking To New Orleans. Gus: Me tooo.
