PPR scoring he's 11, 16, 27 and 28th ranked RB on a weekly basis since his return. That's RB2/3 territory depending on the league. Workload is increasing, but gameflow, their sort of putrid offensive with Jameis clearly not at 100% he hasn't found the flow yet. On Monday, Bucs coach Dirk Koetter was noncommittal about Jameis Winston's (shoulder) availability for Week 9 against the Saints.

Koetter admitted he considered pulling Winston out of Sunday's loss to the Panthers after a hit. Winston has been playing with an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder. "Nothing will be decided on that until Wednesday based on what the medical staff says and how Jameis feels," Koetter said Monday. In the event Winston can't play against the Saints, Ryan Fitzpatrick would start.

I got him in one league at a point in the draft when the RB4's were going.

 

I already got one solid (RB2 stats) start out of him when I had a bye week. I figure if an RB4 gives you even one solid start, you got your value out of the pick, so I am happy.

Doesn't matter. Fitzpatrick and Martin should move the ball just fine. Martin passes the eye test and the usage test, so I'm good with him. He's my RB3/RB4 anyway.

Pretty sure this is becoming a running joke in the FFT weekly rankings. He's 25th behind stud FF RB's Damien Williams, Orleans Darkwa, and Matt Forte.

I have him and this may be the only week I start him, even with a flex spot open. Tampa Bay is the most disappointing team in the league this year and Martin is right there with them fantasy-wise.

Martin is the RB13 for pts/game in standard right now. He just got 80 and 75 yards against the 3rd and 5th best rushing defenses.

 

Anyone that is disappointed in him, especially given his ADP, is absolutely delusional. Unless you are unbelievably stacked at RB, you start him every week and shut your whiny mouth.

Doug Martin week 8 was tied for 24th in my ppr league with 11.0 points. We get slight bonuses for longer runs.

A guy that was drafted in likely the 7th+ round and putting up RB2 numbers in PPR is bad why? And hes not trending down. He had 20 and 18 carries his past two games and played two hellacious run defenses. He has top 15 matchups in 6/8 remaining games, and 4 of those are top 10 matchups. R-E-L-A-X.

So any RB that doesnt put up at least RB2 numbers every single week is a disappointment then? Good luck finding one that meets your standards. Cause even 1st/2nd round RBs like Gurley and Gordon have had much shittier games than Martin.

 

Martin so far has a floor of 7.5 pts in standard against the 5th best run D in the NFL. And his schedule lightens up immensely.

he had a great rookie year in 2012 and another great year in 2015 (with only 7 total tds). otherwise he's been meh. (he's actually doing better this year than last) not sure why anyone would EXPECT RB1 numbers considering his past. Looking at where he is in my league, in only the 4 weeks he's been active, he's right about at a RB2. I'd love to see him put up 20+ for me every week like Gurley or someone like that would. But I know he's not going to. I didn't draft him with those numbers in mind. If someone did, that's on them.

This could be bad news for Martin if Winston misses significant time.

 

sure, they will run more, but teams will be stacking the box and hoping that the backup QB throws a lot. so the YPC wont be as good.

Did you know that in his last 14 games that D Martin has played in he's avg 4 plus yards per rush only once.

 

That's not very good for this stud Rb.

 

But with that said.

 

They will need him this weekend.

 

I don't think Winston is playing, and they will need to run the ball, and teams have move the ball on the ground vs the Saints.

 

Only draw back would be if Brees gets rolling and out comes Martin and in comes Sims.

 

With all that said I think he's worthy of a low rb2 this weekend.
