likely staying in. probably make some gluhwein, kirs with chambord, champagne w/ st. germaine

which one will you be doing?

Izakaya and Sushi Den are excellent.

I have been to sushi den (very good ), do not remember izakaya.

They're right next to each other, owned by the same person. Izakaya Den serves small plates in addition to sushi.

We're doing Matsuhisa which is owned by the guy who owns Nobu. We've done both Sushi Den and Izakaya in the past. Both are very good.

Not a NYE person.... I do my drinking NY-Day watching football.

Very nice. We would occasionally go to the one in Aspen. The one in Vail opened around the time we moved back to California. One of my old co-workers and friend is their somm.

If you were going to the Vail location I would give him a call to see if he could do anything for you.

Know anyone else in Vail? We go almost every year and love La Tour, Sweet Basil and Terra Bistro.

We'll be up there in March. I'm not much of a wine guy though so I'd hate to embarrass myself (or you).

Absolutely. But this year we’re going to Steamboat instead :(

enjoy. no known contacts in steamboat.

we only went to steamboat in the summer... a few good springs out there (strawberry park, old town hot springs). if i recall one can be clothing optional.

Matsuhisa was fantastic. We ended up doing the chefs menu and couldn't have been more happy. Everything was great, including the cocktails. Had some serrano infused gin drink that was really good. Also had Wagyu beef for the first time (I've always said there's no way it's worth the cost) and it was incredible. Now to eat Ramen for the next month so I can afford to do it again.
