(OFFICIAL) *****70's Music Draft***** LOD UP

Recommended Posts

Van took way to long to come off the board although not the song I would have picked

I strongly considered another, and went back and listened to them both again today. Im happy with my pick.

Its focking confusing. On the page for the album it says March 1970. I dont focking know.

Agreed. I say give it to him.

Yea...give it too me

If the album says that, then I should get it, right?

Or not. American Woman and anything from that album is now out of play.

So let it be done...

So nothing from the previously mentioned album is now in play, right? Or wrong?

Yes. I had no sugar tonight on my list. It shall be stricken. The guess who American woman album is dead to us. Focking decade straddled.

Good pick with Blondie sux.

Should have kept American Woman, recorded in 1969, released on the radio, but the album "American Woman" wasn't released until March 1970

What's done is done. I'm ok with it.

Without rules there would just be complete anarchy :ninja:

I really feel bad for you. I would say let it slide and give it to him, but others didn't pick it because of the album release date. So it wouldn't have been available now anyway. I was wondering why it had falling so far.

Well, they are wrong, cause the Album didn't come out until March of 70. The song(single) was released in November, but the album didn't come out until '70...and the rules were album release date.

Exactly the same as Comfortably Numb, Album was released in 79, the single in 80.

I appreciate it. :)

My own fault for not researching it further given how close to the cut off point it was.

Kinda like Taking Running on Empty and only doing a quick scan of the previous picks before my selection

That's why I tried to give him the choice. I don't know why it was disallowed in the first place. Blondie is a great choice, let's just move on at this point.

Fine, move on, when I make my list of 20 awesome songs you guys missed, #1 American Woman. :pointstosky:

YOU tried to give me a choice?

Are YOU the gatekeeper in this draft?

What gives YOU the authority to make such decisions?

YOU can suck my herpes riddled d1ck

Fine. I'm of the "it's easier to get forgiveness than permission" ilk (hence why I'm in sales), and I'm trying to keep this moving. As part of that I've tried to offer it to Sux and he hasn't taken it.

Also Sux, I just saw your last post before I posted this, see my comment that I appointed myself vicar general in Cruzer's absence. You get Blondie, AW is out of contention, LOD is up. :bandana:

Having come out of the balcony and on to the playing field, I can tell you it's harder when you have to actually make a pick. I have to figure what's going to survive the next 28 picks and what will be gone when it gets back to me. Keep my seat warm in the balcony cause they may send me back after tonight.

OK that is finally settled.

With the risk of losing one of the 2 songs I have been  ing about - like a little Biotch- one artist has other choices down the road so if I lose one I have back up.

Totally going out of my comfort area picking a power pop / new wave group and if any of you Fockers tell me you haven't turned this up loud in the car and sung it like a pop star I'll call you a liar.

9.06

My Sharona

The Knack

:ninja:

This song SCREAMS 70's

The Knack was an American rock band based in Los Angeles that rose to fame with their first single, "My Sharona", an international number-one hit in 1979. Wikipedia

I see your point. I thought it was like 76/77

I just remember it as an 80s song.

Just like Heart of Glass.

Either way, Great pick :music_guitarred:

This again? Making a list of 20 great songs post draft is no great accomplishment. Do it against 14 of us or STFU.

9.07 Beth - Kiss

And Kiss finally gets some love. People can say what they want about them but they put on a great show. I saw them in 1980. At one point the parts of the stage raised and lifted them over the audience. Gene Simmons was right above me. I was full of quaaludes and in awe. Rock on Kiss Army.
