I bumped up the Dave song because I wanted that song for sure. Dave Matthews WAS high school for me, and that album came out the first summer I had a car. That song has lots of memories.

 

This time, I wanted one of the rap songs, gin and juice was my #1 in genre, and the last one of my list left. Didnt think it would last.

 

As for the song you want to give me, that band is deep. If it gets taken, its easily replaced.

Scorpions really dial it back for this heartfelt song chrolologizing the changes the world was going through in the late 80s/early 90s. Heady times what with the Berlin Wall coming down from a German band. And I've always been a current events junkie.

 

I'd gone to Germany in the Army in January 1990 soon after the wall fell. I was a little late but in the thick of Winds of Change. Those were heady times. We thought the world would be righted really soon. The end of history.

 

TBBOM talks about songs that have memories ... right after I returned from the Gulf War, this was the last song I'd listened to before I hooked up with my German girlfriend upon my return (the high school senior I'd mentioned in the other thread).

She did have armpit hair when I met her but it didn't last too long afterwards. She was a HS senior. We were 18/17 when we met a year older by this point.
