Donald Trump will be re-elected in 2020

Recommended Posts

He does live in one of the bluest states in the union. And probably runs around with other vegan outdoor sports granola types. Wouldnt be shocking.

Unfortunately, I know a lot of maga cult d!pshits.

I also know a lot of sjw cult d!pshits.

People who are actually sane about politics? Theyre a minority.

I do hang out with a lot of outdoorsy types, but I was also referring to my coworkers - in a group of ~50 physicians, I can only think of one or two who might have voted Trump.

I heard one of Trump's former campaign guys today who had a really interesting take.

basically, he said what we all know. That the 35% isn't going to change. Trump acknowledge that. He could shoot some of them on the street blah blah blah.

but what Trumps former Guy brought up was that for the election, Trump won independents by somewhere between six and eight percent. Now in virtually any poll you look at, Independents just don't want to have anything to do with Trump.

I think the left media gets so pissed off that that 35% number almost never changes significantly. That they forget to look at the independent number that was the key.

Now the only thing I'll add is that these polls don't include Hillary. And I think that's huge. I think as many Independence voted against Hillary more than for Trump. When you take her out of the hypothetical in the pole then the numbers change significantly. Trump versus a hypothetical candidate? Trump loses. Trump versus Hillary? Dead draw.

Trump does dumb sh*t and is unpopular. If he runs against an imaginary Democrat he loses because the imaginary Democrat has no baggage to hate. When the Dems have an actual nominee, that person will have undergo the full anal cavity check that all nominees endure and we'll see how well the GOP does in demonizing him/her/zer.

Lots of people who didn't like Trump were willing to hold their nose to vote for him. Trump's trade policy is yet another issue to stack up that has all the talking heads on the coast screaming in outrage but opposition to NAFTA and TPP will play like absolute music in places like Macomb County which is filled with ticket splitters and is in turn the key to winning Michigan. Trump can run on that and kneeling anthem sh*tbags and cop-hating SJWs and on his tough on border issues and trannies winning girls sports competitions in Connecticut and see how far the Dem nominee gets in counteracting him while still holding all the fruitcakes and nuts in the Dem coalition together.

President: OK, yes I did have sex with that woman.

Trump and his people have been lying about it for months. You dont get credit for admitting it after getting caught.

It was just to compare to Clinton who'd denied for months as well until a few hours after the dress emerged.

I didn't care when Clinton was going through the witch hunt and I don't care that Trump is. And it's for the same reason. This is an impeachment looking for an excuse to proceed and the excuse they've latched on to is a shabby one about a known serial adulterer lying about sex. It's the same accusation twenty years later and it still isn't in the area code of 'high crime or misdemeanor.'

People are going to have Trump fatigue by 2020. Its like a new hit song that gets played over and over and over until people are sick of it. Now, you can blame that on the media, but Trump cant help himself from saying stupid shitt that puts him in the news cycle constantly. I guess we'll see. I just dont see him winning again, but I'll admit I didnt think he'd win the first time. :dunno:

Clinton lied about it under oath. That is the only thing that got him in trouble. Trump hasn't done that, yet.

I agree with you just saying you framed it as Clinton lied but Trump admitted it when they both lied until they got caught.

I dunno what's going on as I'm hardly paying any attention at all to the Stormy Daniels story. I don't watch the news, I click on things I'm interested about and Trump's sex life, like Bill Clinton's sex life before him, isn't one of those things. Of all the dumb, quasi-legal stuff Trump does, is this really the one the Dems want to latch their impeachment onto? The same one the GOP did to Clinton and came out looking like idiots about?

Focking stupid.

I agree with everything you said. I just dont think its correct to say Clinton lied but Trump told the truth. They both lied until they got caught, and in both cases the lying was / is the bigger offense than the sex. Nobody thinks the fact that Trump has affairs matter. Some people think the lying, hush money and campaign finance violations matter.

I didn’t say I’ve discussed it. But the overwhelming majority of political talk in the office has been anti-Trump. I’ve never heard anyone IRL say anything positive about the guy.

The dumbest thing I see in this thread is you guys are jumping all over this one particular thing. You've done this every single time. Mueller is peeling an onion. And first you guys denied that The Onion even exist. Then you say the onion doesn't apply to Trump. Then you say oh well it's just an onion skin for Pete's sake. This is the first thing. It sure as isn't the last. Meanwhile New York State is lining up all kinds of too. Meanwhile the IRS is as well. Don't blow your load on this one particular deal. Because in Fairly short order his kids are going to be up on charges. And that'll be the next freak out and the next one and the next one.

Not to mention you can see Trump becoming unhinged and flat out obstructing and then Congress is really going to have to figure out what to do. Just wait till he tries to fire his Attorney General and Rosenstein for example.

So how does this play out? 35% of the country could watch him molest a toddler at knifepoint and still vote for him. The people who hate him? They ain't going to change their minds either. But this constant steady drip drip drip of charge after charge and lie after lie being disproven that's where the rub lies. That's where we see Independents finally say you know what? I'm just sick of this crap.

And when that starts happening? Then Republicans are going to have to decide what to do. Most people stuck with Nixon right up until the very end and then ran from him en Masse. It's not any one thing guys it's the death of a Thousand Cuts.

But some of you guys? I swear it's going to be it's just election fraud? It's just perjury? It's just adultry? He just lied? It's just his inauguration fund? It's just his charity? It's just this? It's just that? That doesn't matter! But but but Obama!

But some people are going to get sick of constantly defending and minimizing and justifying and what about izing something new every week.

Bet it's 5 guys and the rest keep their mouth shut. I know about 10 physicians and to a man they are conservative. They don't advertise it.

Hey nutjob, no one is alright with him molesting a toddler at knifepoint. Libs use this hyperbole to make him seem worse than an adulterer, no different than Bill Clinton. Except back then it was "no one died when Clinton lied", and "who cares about sex between consenting adults". :dunno:

In a stunning move at the 2020 GOP convention, the Republicans have adopted a strict no molesting toddlers at knifepoint plank in their platform.

... The NRA did however negotiate an exception for handguns.

You're probably right. I bet a small minority voted for him, but they keep quiet. That doesn't change how much political talk has increased since he's become president, and none of it is favorable.

Trump/Pence got 1/3 of the vote in Hawaii and you don't know one person? People are scared to speak their minds because of an out-lash from the left or they don't want to be scrutinized in their workplace for having an opinion. There are Trump voters in your office and they can't stand you, probably even troll you. You sit so far up on your high horse you don't even think anyone with a college education could possibly vote Trump or any Republican (just going off your past comments).

Just analytically, one of the more interesting groups to keep an eye on will be the evengelical.

Some will most assuredly just jump on scotus and Roe v Wade. But that may not work out so well. The hidden little story this week is the Cavanaugh has previously opined that Roe v Wade is settled law. If that gets around, katie-bar-the-door.

Putting that aside, there's a growing movement inside the evangelico base that just can't stomach the adultery, The Bullying, the language, the paying of pornstars, they just can't throw their weight behind something as morally odious As Trump.

It will depend upon whom the dems bring forward, but I could see them begrudgingly siding with somebody like Biden.

But far more likely, I see a lot of The evangelicos Who came out en Masse at the last election just choosing to stay home for this one. Again just analytically it'll be an interesting crew to watch.

I live in a Liberal hotbed, they are loud and proud and assume that everyone thinks like them. I suppose if I lived in a conservative one, it might be the same.

This house in my neighborhood has a huge MAGA sign out front. I wonder why they are inviting broken windows and slashed tires. Might as well have a Dallas star on your car around here.

We're two years into this onion peeling. If they had anything on Trump it should be known by now. They have nothing so they're putting the screws to people to get them to flip and give them something that could be construed as illegal.

Maybe there is a there there. Sh!t or get off the pot already. Because at this point it just looks like they're desperately reaching for anything. He didn't molest a toddler, hell it doesn't even look like he jaywalked at this point.

Sane people woke up the morning after election night, scratched their heads and said "Wow, didn't see that coming." Some of y'all completely lost your sh!t and it doesn't look like you're going to find it anytime soon.

I guess you can believe that for what that's worth. But overlay the timeline of this investigation versus the seven years of Hillary for example. Or more appropriately versus Nixon for example.

less than 2 years we have 5 different cabinet-level people convicted and or pleading? Including his campaign manager? Including his lawyer? Including his top foreign policy guy? Actually, by historical standards this is pretty quick.

And if past is prologue, when Domino's start dropping, they start dropping faster and faster and faster.

But I hear what you're saying. Because people on the radical left are saying the same thing. Everyone thinks this is a shoplifting charge or an episode of Law & Order. But when you're going after the most powerful man in the country? You dot Your eyes and cross your t's repeatedly.

Just think about some of the biggest domestic crimes that have occurred in The Last 5 Years. Most of those guys - even terrorists - still aren't even on the docket yet. Just a bit of perspective.

The same reason an Obummer sign would have invited property damage in day Kansas back in 2008-2016.

I don't talk about politics IRL. But yeah, I bet few people with advanced degrees voted for Trump. My wife is a registered Republican, and she didn't. Her parents might have.
